THIS Hidden Video Security Camera Catches THIS Elephant Doing The UNTHINKABLE!

Elephants are among the most intelligent species of animals that walk the Earth’s surface. They are highly complex and extremely social mammals who live in caring, tight knit family groups. Many people know that an elephant never forgets, thanks to their incredible memories, but they are capable of so much more.

They cry, play, laugh, are self-aware, and express a wide range of feelings and emotions from grief to compassion and beyond. There are a number of fascinating videos clips out there featuring elephants doing all sorts of amazing and unbelievable things. They have been captured playing pianos, saving other animals and people, and now there’s even video evidence of them recycling garbage.

A surveillance camera recently caught one wild elephant doing a little tidying up around the Thornhill Safari Lodge in Limpopo, South Africa. The lodge is located at Kruger National Park, which is home to countless animals, including thousands of wild African elephants.

The elephants are free to roam and the one seen here was munching on some tasty tree leaves when he happened to spot a few pieces of litter scattered on the ground near a trash can. He ambled on over and did what any good person would do, he picked it up and disposed of it properly.

That’s no easy feat for a massive animal that weighs thousands of pounds and has no hands. However, he does have a trunk which is just as effective at picking things up. With a little maneuvering and some help from his feet, he was able to grasp the trash and place it in the bin.

He’s definitely seen people throw out trash before and use the bins, which is why he knew exactly what to do with the litter. He remembered what he’d observed before, learned how to recycle, and did it on his own volition. It speaks volumes when an elephant has to pick up after man.

Too bad some people have never learned to do the same because the world would be a much cleaner, and safer, place for us all.

After You See What They Pull Out Of This Sea Turtle’s Nose You Will Never Litter Again!

Off the pacific coast of Costa Rica, a team of marine biologists who were researching turtles, brought a grown, male olive ridley sea turtle aboard their boat.  They were shocked to find something stuck inside his left nostril which they believed to be a worm of some kind.

Seeing that the turtle’s breathing was impeded they proceeded to attempt to dislodge it as carefully as possible.  They were concerned that perhaps this worm had lodged into the turtle’s brain stem. Feeling that they had no choice but to dislodge it, in order to save the turtle’s life, they were really concerned that moving it the wrong way could also end in it’s demise.

After working on it’s removal for several minutes they cut off a piece of it to discern what it actually was.  They were shocked and angered to discover that it was not anything organic.  Rather it was something completely man-made and a result of improper recycling that is contaminating our oceans and endangering sea life.

After nearly 8 minutes of carefully pulling at the lodged object, they pulled out a 10-12 inch plastic drinking straw!  Unfortunately they had nothing to sedate the turtle, so the procedure was painful.  The video of this quickly went viral on YouTube, getting nearly 5 million views.  “For the turtle, the wound would have been fatal had we left the plastic inside its nostril,” reported one of the researchers.

This video, although disturbing, luckily saved this turtle’s life.  There are many plastic objects, like straws, that get lodged in sea animals, which ultimately kill them.  The team disinfected the hole where the straw had been, and were forced by law to release the turtle back into the wild.

The footage is graphic but is important to watch.  It illustrates well the potential life-threatening consequences of the tons of garbage that ends up in the sea. “We disinfected the air passageway with iodine and kept the turtle for observation before releasing him back into the wild,” the team reported on YouTube.

“The bleeding stopped pretty much immediately after the removal of the straw.”  The good news is that this turtle’s life was saved. The next time you think about littering remember this turtle and think twice. Help spread this lucky turtle’s story so others can understand.

She Takes A Two Liter Plastic Bottle and Melts It On An Iron. The Final Result Is Beautiful!

Custom made jewelery can cost a pretty penny if you buy it at the store or online. Why not try making some one of a kind pieces at home that cost practically nothing and look just as beautiful as their pricier counterparts! With this tutorial, making your own arm candy can be extremely low cost, easy, and fun to do. Plus, if you have children who are wrapping up the school year, it will give you something creative and hands-on to do with them. This project involves re-using and recycling plastic bottles to make bracelets, so you won’t waste or need to buy anything. You can make lots of them and even if you mess up it doesn’t matter, just keep going until you make the perfect accessory!

To create your very own you only need some plastic bottles, tape, scissors, an iron, and nail polish or acrylic paint. Remove all the labels from the bottles and wash them well beforehand. Start by taking a bottle and wrap a layer of tape completely around the mid-section. You may need to wrap several layers of tape around it depending on how thick you want the bracelet to be. Cut the plastic away from around where you taped and trim the edges, as neat and evenly as you can, then completely remove the tape.

Break out your iron and turn off the steam setting before adjusting it to a medium heat temperature. Be very careful doing this next step. Slowly begin to melt the sharp plastic edge on the hot iron so that each side is smooth and even all the way around. Make sure that you don’t melt the plastic too much, you only need to place it on the iron for a second or two.

Once it has cooled you can cover the plastic with nail polish or acrylic paint in whatever color or design you like. Ones with metallic finishes and textures would look really cool. Plus, you can add rhinestones, glitter, beads, stickers, or anything else to these. They will turn out shiny and can be custom made to match any outfit or look you are going for. Check out the Innova Crafts video to learn more on how to make them and enjoy!
