How Good Is Your Eyesight?

When you hear someone proclaim that they have 20/20 vision, does the thought that they have perfect vision go through your mind? If you’re like most people, you likely equate it with having clear, flawless vision, but that’s not what it means. In actuality 20/20 vision means that a person can clearly see and read a line of letters on a Snellen chart, while standing back at a distance of 20 feet, which is what a normal person should be able to see at 20 feet.

Thus, when someone says they have 20/20 vision, it means they have the visual acuity of the average person. While the Snellen chart is the most familiar type of vision test, there are many alternative ways to screen and evaluate eyesight. Certain tests can evaluate how well your eyes focus, adjust, differentiate, and interpret the sights and pictures they’re taking in.

It’s very important to get regular eye examinations and check ups, especially if you think that you might be losing your vision. If that’s the case, you should have a professional check your eyes out, because once eyesight starts to fade it’s hard and rare to get back. This quiz uses a combination of questions and pictures to ascertain how well your eyes work.

Take it now and see whether your vision is as sharp as a hawk’s, or if you’re blind as a bat!
