An electric battery is a device consisting of one or more electrochemical cells that convert stored chemical energy into electrical energy. Each cell contains a positive terminal, or cathode, and a negative terminal, or anode. Electrolytes allow ions to move between the electrodes and terminals, which allows current to flow out of the battery to perform work. In the following video you will learn how to tell if your batteries are dead without wasting anytime at all.

Just so you know if batteries are kept at a cooler temperature in a fridge or freezer they tend to last longer. Sometimes keeping batteries cool can increase the length Battery life by at least five percent.  However for batteries to work at their full potential they should be at brought back to room temp.

Now onto the simple method to test if any alkaline battery in your house or office has any juice left in only 3 seconds! I wish somebody taught me this brilliant trick earlier. However it’s better late than never! This method works on AA, AAA, C, D batteries.

Let us know if the trick works for you. Enjoy the tutorial below!

VIDEO: Apparently If You Poke Your Phone’s Battery With A Knife THIS Happens!

Let me say at the outset, DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME! Just about all of us carry cell phones that contain lithium-ion batteries (also known as Li-ion batteries), and we would never even remotely think of our phones as being flammable.

The person who made this video was obviously fascinated with seeing what would happen if he poked his cell phone with a sharp knife, into the battery itself. Although it is highly unlikely that our phones would ever spontaneously combust, watching what happens in this video took my breath away.

Although, with the current batteries we certainly have no reason to be concerned about flammability under normal circumstances, it might be a good thing to have a safer option to these Li-ion batteries. Something was discovered recently, by researchers who were attempting find a material to use on the bottom of ships, that would prevent marine life from attaching to the bottoms.

In their research they made an incidental finding of a way to make non-flammable Li-ion batteries. PFPE is a material that has a similar chemical structure of the electrolyte used in the current batteries. It is being tested with the hope that they will be a marketable alternative, so that the batteries in cell phones will no longer have combustable potential.

When you watch how quickly the phone blows up when prodded in this video, you may agree that it would be good to find a non-flammable alternative. It was definitely a bit scary how rapidly the phone went up in flames.

An Easy Way To Tell If Your Batteries Are Dead Or Still Have Some Juice Left

Many of us buy batteries of different sizes, AA, AAA, C, D etc., and we use a few of them and put the unused ones in a Ziploc for another day.  Sometimes we will remove old batteries and get them mixed up with the fresh ones and they all end up together.  There’s nothing more annoying than putting a battery in and finding out it’s dead…then going through a bunch to find one that’s still got juice.

Believe it or not there is a simple way to avoid this hassle without having to own a battery testing device.  It’s a trick that works more than 80% of the time and is illustrated in the VIDEO you are about to watch below.

What is shown is a bounce test that changes when the alkaline in the battery wears down; it produces a gas that fills the inside, and changes how the battery bounces, as it is dropped a short distance onto a hard surface.
