Apparently THIS Simple Life Hack Will Air Seal Any Bag Of Chips With No Clip Necessary!

image via – youtube.com

Nothing is better than reaching into a bag of crispy chips or crackers when you’re really hungry and need a little snack to stave off the empty stomach pangs. That light, airy, crunchy taste and texture is so soothing and pleasing that it can even make your mouth water just thinking about it.

However, nothing is worse than when the chips hit your lips and instead of a satisfying crunch they mush down into a stale wad of grossness that you have to spit out. The feeling of limp, old snacks is an immediate appetite killer and one we have all experienced.

Plus, as if the taste wasn’t bad enough, you also end up throwing out the rest of the bag. Money and food gets wasted, all your snack hopes and dreams get crushed, and overall you’re left with a really bad taste in your mouth.

Part of why such a situation and the above scenario is so depressing is that it doesn’t have to be like that. By properly sealing and closing bags chips, crackers, cookies, and whatever tasty treats you open can stay fresh and crispy for much longer than not.

When someone fails to do that, they are asking for stale, wasted food. The most common way to avoid this is by placing a clip on the open bag to ensure it stays closed. Even a rubber band, clothespin, binder clip, or any similar type of object can be used to secure the bags opening.

For those times when you don’t have a clip of any sort nearby or available, you can always try this handy little trick to seal up an opened snack bag. Start by neatly rolling the top of the bag down over itself until you near the part of the bag where it is filled to.

Take each of the topmost rolled corners and fold them in about an inch or so towards the center. Using your fingers to hold the corners in place, turn the fold over itself in the opposite direction from which it was rolled down.

Refer to the video for a better idea of what I’m attempting to describe, but it’s basically similar to turning the fold inside out. Doing this will ensure that the bag stays closed and won’t pop open. Air is kept out and freshness is ensured for at least a few days, in some cases weeks, longer.

Be sure to check out the short video clip because it will come in handy at some point and help you (a lot) to avoid future chip issues. Also, don’t forget to spread the wealth and share it so that others know how to keep their snacks fresh for longer too!

Fishermen On This Boat Spotted What They Thought Was a Seal But They Approached It and Got a Closer Look!

image via – youtube.com

When a group of crab fishermen set out in their boat one summer day, they never could have imagined what they’d end up catching.  It all started early on a June morning when the crew, Mallory Harrigan, Cliff Russell, and Alan Russell, were cruising off the coast of Labrador, Canada.  Due to an unusually large amount of sea ice, they’d been unable to set out any earlier and were running a little later than expected. Despite the delay, it was business as usual and they busied themselves setting up all the fishing gear for the day ahead.

They had set a course for a small town on the coast of Newfoundland and Labrador called Pincent’s Arm where they planned to fuel up their boat, The Northern Swan.  It was while they were enroute to their destination that they spotted something strange up ahead on a mushroom shaped piece of ice that was floating in the middle of the ocean.

Being four miles out from the nearest shore, they assumed it must be a seal at first.  However, they noticed that a bunch of seagulls were circling the animal and if it was a seal it would have slipped back into the water to avoid the pesky birds.  They motored closer to get a better look and soon realized that they were actually looking at an arctic fox that had become stranded on the small piece of ice! He must have been looking for food when the ice broke apart and ended up floating out to sea before he could get back to land.

Knowing that it faced certain death if they didn’t get it off the melting iceberg, the crew decided to rescue the poor fox.  Naturally they hesitated, being that the fox was essentially a cornered wild animal, it could potentially lash out at them. Even so, they decided to take the risk because they were his only hope for survival.

They first tried coaxing the fox onto the boat, but he was too timid and afraid to even get close to them.  They soon realized that the only way to get him was to break the ice he was on so that he’d fall in the water and from there they could scoop him out with their dipnet.  After they broke the ice, the fox tried to swim away but he was already exhausted and weak from not eating or sleeping, so the crew didn’t have to wait long before they were able to scoop him up and onto the boat.

As soon as the fox was safely on board he scurried over to a corner and curled up into a ball.  The fishermen tried to feed him some crackers they had, but the fox wasn’t interested. Shortly afterwards they’d reached Pincent’s Arm where they set about making a bed for the fox out of sawdust and fish pans.  Their goal was to get him warmed up and dry, and once the fox settled into his new bed, he fell asleep right away.

While the fox slept the group went about their business before heading home to William’s Harbor.  Hours passed before the fox finally woke up and when he did, he was thirsty and hungry. He was also relatively tame; he must have sensed the people were only trying to help him.

After he ate a tin of Vienna sausages he perked right up.  The fishermen monitored him and once they decided that he could go off and survive in the wild they released him.  His new home was on a small island in the harbor which had been used to house sled dogs in the past. There were old dog homes he could use for shelter and plenty of small animals and birds for him to hunt.  After they re-homed the fox, they said he ran off to explore and that they still see him every now and then chasing after his dinner!

A Wild Seal Asks This Scuba Diver For A Belly Rub. His Reaction Is An Unexpected Surprise!

A scuba diver recently had a surprising and wonderful experience with a wild grey seal while he was partaking in some underwater exploring. The once in a lifetime chance meeting occurred in the Atlantic Ocean off the Isles of Scilly in England. Gary Grayson was diving alongside several other people when a group of Atlantic grey seals decided to check them out. The large seals swam about the strange visitors and one seal in particular took an interest in Grayson.

The friendly mammal got up close and personal with the diver and videographer, and thankfully there was someone among the group who caught the whole encounter on film. The seal can be seen putting his flipper up against the man’s hand, as if he was comparing the two, and nuzzling the diver with his large head.

Then he starts to pat Grayson’s hand and looks to be urging the man to give his belly a rub as he rolls over onto his side and back! The man obliges and the seal looks like he is loving the attention. There is a smile on the seal’s face the whole time and he looks incredibly relaxed and at ease.

It’s a beautiful sight to see as the big sea creature acts like a happy puppy getting his tummy rubbed. The seal even uses his flippers to stay in place and guide the man’s hands to where he wants a scratch. Seals are often referred to as “dogs of the sea” because of their playful and friendly behavior around humans and other animals.

A few of them have even been captured on film snuggling up to their canine counterparts and romping around in the water with them. This video certainly backs up the comparison, and while dogs are man’s best friend on land, seals are man’s best friend in the water.

The remarkably friendly one that Grayson met is truly a sweetheart and what an amazing experience it must have been for everyone involved. I hope one day I can meet one of these “dog mermaids” and give him an underwater belly rub! This is now on my bucket list! What would you have done in this situation? Let us know!

VIDEO: Surfer Hits The Waves and Comes Out Of The Ocean With A Surprise Unexpected Friend!

Imagine that you are out surfing with some friends at your favorite beach. The mood is light and you’re having a great time catching waves and enjoying the moment. All of a sudden you feel movement in the water behind you. Immediately you freeze and the first thing that pops into your head is that a shark may be with you in the water, maybe it’s about to attack, and get the hell out!

You turn around to see if your worst fears are true and that’s when you notice a baby sea lion swimming next to you. All your fears from a moment ago fade and the heart attack you felt coming on is averted.

The above scenario is exactly what one lucky man went through when what seemed like just another day out surfing turned into an unforgettable experience for him and his friends. They were out catching some waves when they had an adorable run in with a young sea lion.

While sea lions are a common sight near the shore and surfers are used to them, they rarely get so close to people, let alone hop onto a board! Once the surfer saw that the the stranger in the water with him was a young friendly pup, and not a shark, he immediately relaxed and went with the flow.

The pup ended up hitching a few rides and eagerly jumped onto the surf board. The group spent the next hour or so surfing, cuddling, playing in the ocean, riding waves, and relaxing atop the board.

Thankfully they had a Go-Pro camera with them to capture the moment and bear witness to the unbelievable interaction. The young sea lion is truly a sweetheart, remarkably friendly, and what an amazing experience it must have been for all involved.

This year it has been widely reported that there has been an increase in the number of sick, ailing, and starving seals and sea lions. Animal experts are unsure what the precise cause of it is. There are various animal rescue and rehabilitation groups aiding wildlife officials and sick animals, all of which can use any help they can get.

Man Gets An Unexpected Photobomber Right As He Takes a Selfie By The Ocean

Since the dawn of modern photography people have been invading and dropping in on pictures and videos which they were never originally meant to be a part of! While photobombing may seem like a relatively new and recent phenomenon, it’s actually not. However, thanks to the internet and viralability we are able to see all of the best photobombs out there that man, and animal, have to offer!

Over the years pictures have been photobombed by all sorts of different people, items, and animals. The most common type is by far the total and complete stranger who jumps in at the last moment. These usually result in hilarious pictures and candid reactions that range from oblivious to shocked at the unexpected last minute addition. Celebrities often make appearances as well, but the ones that everybody absolutely adores and loves to see are the animal photo-bombers, like the seal in this clip!

The guy in the red sleeveless t-shirt managed to capture the awesome memento while he was out on the water enjoying a beautiful day on his boat. He was near the bridge that’s visible in the background when a baby seal jumped on board and decided to relax alongside him. In fact, the youngster was so comfortable and at ease with the man that he snuggled up against his back and even began to fall asleep! You can see his eyes begin to droop as the sleepy seal basks in the sunshine against the guy, which all makes the perfect photo/video opportunity. If this ever happened to you, you’d definitely want the memory and proof preserved on film!

Seals rank at the top of the list when it comes to friendly, cheerful, adorable marine animals. That’s why they’re often referred to as the “dogs of the sea” because of their playful social behavior around other animals and humans. Some of them have been seen snuggling up to their canine counterparts and romping around in the water with them, others prefer to catch some waves with surfers.

After watching this clip, this seal certainly backs up the comparison. So while dogs are man’s best friend on dry land, seals are man’s best friend in the water and on boats!
