Dad Didn’t Know His Child’s Babysitter Was a Monster! But Then The Family Dog Began Doing The Strangest Thing!

image via – youtube.com

It’s never easy to leave your young child in the care of another person, but many people have to do it.  Finding a good babysitter is just as stressful as leaving your child with them and so when Benjamin and Hope Jordan hired a woman to watch their newborn in the comfort of their home, they thought they had a good thing going.

The young couple were living in Charleston, South Carolina when they found twenty two year old Alexis Khan to care for Finn, their 7-month old son.  She passed a background security check and seemed nice, responsible, and well spoken. Every weekday morning she would arrive promptly at their house before they headed out to work and stayed until they returned home in the afternoon.  At first everything seemed to be going really well, there were no issues and the couple grew to trust Alexis. But at the five month point, things began to change.

The parents noticed that their dog Killian, a Labrador Retriever-German Shepherd mix, started to act very aggressive towards Alexis.  He would growl and take up a protective stance, placing his body between her and Finn, whenever she came in the door. A couple of times the couple even had to hold Killian back because he would start going towards Alexis as if he was going to attack her.

They didn’t take the sudden change in their dog’s behavior lightly and knew something was wrong.  Killian was normally a very sweet, friendly dog who had never acted so defensively towards anyone before.  Instead of ignoring him, Benjamin and Hope decided to hide an iPhone under the living room couch to record what was going on while they were gone.  They thought that maybe it would help shed light on why their dog hated the babysitter.

When they got home and checked the recording, they were shocked at what they heard.  It started off with Alexis yelling and swearing at Finn while he cried. Their surprise quickly changed to horror when they heard slapping noises and their son crying out in obvious pain.  From there it only got worse when they heard what seemed to be shaking sounds and after that they immediately brought their baby to the hospital to have him checked out. Shaking a baby can easily cause serious, permanent injuries or even death and they couldn’t rest until they knew Finn was okay.

Thankfully he was okay, and the abuse was reported to the police who investigated the babysitter.  At first, she denied any wrongdoing but when they played the recording, she finally confessed to what she had done.  After pleading guilty she was convicted of child abuse and sentenced to 3 years in jail but got released early on parole after serving just one year.  Alexis also had to register with the child abuse registry which bars her from ever working with children again.

Killian ended up saving the day, and potentially even Finn’s life, thanks to his change in behavior.  If he hadn’t been so aggressive and adamant, perhaps Benjamin and Hope would not have noticed or looked into Alexis.  The dog isn’t done yet either, he ended up being trained to be a psychiatric service animal, which he is probably wonderful at!

They Spot A Puppy Alone In a Rusty Cage At The Park. Then They See This Disturbing Message Written On His Head

image via – youtube.com

Anyone who wants a dog needs to be prepared for the responsibility that it entails.  Being a pet owner is a full time job that requires a lot of time and attention, if you can’t give an animal the life it deserves, then you shouldn’t have one.

Unfortunately, people who have no business owning a pet sometimes end up with one.  Oftentimes they realize too late that they’re not up to the task and so they either surrender or dump the animal somewhere.  That’s what happened in the unbelievable case of Marvella, a 5 moth old puppy who was found abandoned in a Chillicothe, Ohio park by a couple.

They had gone out for a walk when they suddenly stumbled across a little white puppy locked inside a metal cage. The poor dog had words written in black permanent marker all over its body, including “free”, “good home only”, and “I am a gift from God.”  It was incredibly disturbing to see a dog locked up and abandoned like that, but the messages written in fur were especially cruel.

The couple ended up calling the police who brought the puppy to the Ross County Humane Society.  When the staff there first saw the dog they were appalled at her appearance and decided to call her Marvella, from the French word “merveille” which means miracle.

They immediately set out to clean up her fur and washed her gently with a mixture of dish soap and hydrogen peroxide. When they were done only the faintest marks remained and the staff showered Marvella with all the love and attention she deserved.

They also shared her story online where it quickly went viral, people all over the world were smitten with the cute little puppy’s happy smiling face.

Adoption applications soon poured in and after sifting through well over 90 of them, one family was finally chosen to be her forever home. Within a week Marvella was out of the shelter and in her new home with the Reitzel family, who were over the moon to be placed with such a great dog.

Perhaps just as important as Marvella’s happy ending was the spotlight her story shone on all the other animals who are abandoned and surrendered every day.  Many people were inspired to donate to the shelter and the awareness she raised helped many other dogs stuck in similar situations.

THIS Guy From Kenya Dug A Hole For 3 Miles For The Most UNTHINKABLE Reason!

image via – youtube.com

If you’ve ever had to deal with government bureaucracy and all the red tape that goes along with it, then you know how long and frustrating it can be to get anything done.  It seems like even the simplest of problems can take months, usually even years, to get fixed. By the time that happens, most people have already found ways around whatever the issue may be or gone ahead and tried to fix it themselves.

It’s not just an American or first world problem, even the remotest of places in the middle of Africa are stuck dealing with government ineptitude.  For the small village of Kaganda, located two hours north of Nairobi, Kenya, residents had been asking the local government to build a road for years, yet they never seemed to get anywhere.  A date had previously been set to begin construction but that was over 5 years ago, so they began to lose hope of ever getting the road built.

The villagers badly needed this particular road built because there was only one paved road in town and a couple of dirt ones.  The one road that brings them to the closest market and church in the area isn’t a direct route, instead they have to travel 2.5 miles out of the way to get there.  Then they must walk that extra 2.5 miles with all their groceries on the way back. Despite their constant pleas for a new direct route to the market, the government could not get the ball rolling and they remained majorly inconvenienced for years.

For a while the villagers used a shortcut through the bush, but they were cutting across private property.  The property owner eventually put a fence up, effectively blocking the shortcut, and so they went back to taking the long way.  At that point, a local 45 year old man named Nicholas Muchami decided to get the job done the old fashioned way. He was sick of waiting for a road that might not ever get built and so he set to work digging it himself.

Using just the farm tools he had, he worked to clear the land.  He cut down trees and bushes, pulled up roots, and dug out a path for the road that would lead directly from the village to the market area.  Nicholas worked tirelessly from 7am to 5pm no matter what the weather was or how hot it got. In just six days he had managed to clear 1.5km and had made a dirt road wide enough for cars to drive on and the villagers were thrilled.

Eventually Nicholas had to take a break from his volunteer work.  He normally worked odd jobs to make money and since he wasn’t getting paid, he needed to get back to work to provide for his family.  He also needed to rest, and when he did a few other villagers picked up where he’d left off to help finish the road.

News of the road and how it was built soon spread and major news outlets like the BBC sent camera crews to get pictures of it.  When the story went global people started sending Nicholas gifts, food, and money to help support and show how much they appreciated what he was doing.  Their kind gifts enabled him to focus and work only on the road, which he soon completed.

In the end, Nicholas had dug just under three miles almost all by himself.  When asked what motivated him, he said that he did it for the women and children in the village and to save everyone time.  Now trips to the market or church are drastically shorter and the elderly, sick, and disabled can take a car there in just minutes.  All this is possible because one man decided to do the work himself rather than wait for the government who had been promising it for years.

This Is What Happens To Your Body If You Eat 2 Black-Spotted Bananas Per Day For A Month

image via – shutterstock.com

Bananas are perhaps one of nature’s most under-rated fruits. The yellow skinned fruits are easy to overlook, especially when it seems as if there’s always some new and exotic type of fruit that’s being touted as the next big thing. However, the fact remains that bananas are a tasty super food that can give our bodies all the good stuff it needs to thrive.

They’re packed full of nutrients, vitamins, fiber, and all-natural sugars, like sucrose and fructose. That’s part of the reason why eating bananas regularly can help to keep the doctor away.

In the United States bananas are the top most consumed fruit and Americans eat more of them every year than apples and oranges combined. Many of us bring home a bunch of bananas from the store and eat them throughout the week. They start off mostly greenish-yellow and spotless, but as time goes by, the bananas continuously ripen.

Eventually they begin to develop brown spots, which grow bigger and bigger until the entire banana is covered in brown. Many people are turned off by brown bananas and think it means they’re rotten so they toss them out. It makes sense, most fruits that turn brown are indeed rotten and unappetizing.

However, the more dark patches a banana appears to have, the more ripe it is, and the more TNF it contains. TNF stands for Tumor Necrosis Factor, and it’s a cancer fighting substance that helps fight against abnormal cells in our bodies. Specifically, TNF helps to assist communication between cells in our immune response system and it guides the movement of cells towards areas in our bodies which are inflamed or infected.

Research has confirmed that the TNF found in ripe bananas interferes with tumor cells growth and inhibits them from spreading by causing cell death, or apoptosis. This, in conjunction with the high levels of antioxidants which are also found in bananas, boosts our immune systems and can increase our white blood cells as well. The next time you see a banana with brown spots, don’t pass it over. Instead, eat it up and give your body a mini-health boost and some extra energy.

In addition to the brown spots and their immune system strengthening qualities, bananas have a number of other health benefits. Below are a few of the main ones that bananas can give you, and the accompanying video covers even more than just these, so check it out:

1) Heartburn- Bananas are nature’s anti-acid and can provide relief from heartburn and acid reflux. Eating just one banana can immediately bring soothing relief and lessen your heartburn symptoms.

2) Blood Pressure- Bananas help to lower blood pressure and protect against stroke or heart attack because they are low in sodium and high in potassium, making them a heart healthy food.

3) Energy- Eating a banana or two before a workout gives you enough energy to last an hour or more. The low glycemic carbohydrates, vitamins, and minerals all support your body increase endurance, while potassium helps to prevent muscle cramps.

4) Anemia- They can help those with anemia by providing much needed dietary iron, which stimulates red blood cell and hemoglobin production and strengthens the blood supply.

5) Ulcers- When you suffer from stomach ulcers many foods are off limits, but bananas can be eaten without having to worry about whether or not they’ll cause pain. That’s because their smooth, soft, mushy texture coats the stomach lining and protects it against corrosive acids and irritation.

6) Depression- They can help overcome depression because they have high levels of tryptophan, which our bodies convert into serotonin. Serotonin is a brain neurotransmitter that makes people relax, feel happy, and improves mood. Thus, bananas can help people feel better and beat depression.

7) Constipation- If you are clogged up, eat a few bananas. They have enough fiber in them to stimulate regular bowel movements and provide natural relief for constipation.

8) Nerves or PMS- When you’re feeling moody and stressed, eat a banana. They help to regulate blood sugar and are rich in B vitamins, which naturally calm the nervous system and make people relax, resulting in an overall improved mood.

9) Temperature Control- Eating a banana on a hot day can cool you off by lowering your body temperature. The same is true for it you have a fever.

THIS Mother Was Confused When She Saw Her Daughter’s Hair Kept Getting Shorter! Then She Realizes The Horrifying Truth!

image via – youtube.com

School is supposed to be a safe place and environment for kids to learn and get a great education. It is also a place for kids to learn how to be social, make friends, learn how to interact with adults and slowly but surely become self-sustaining adults that can survive in the ‘real world’. The problem is a lot of time, this education comes with a price that many kids aren’t prepared for.

Bullying has been around for a very long time and even as many schools attempt to stop this epidemic it still shows up almost everywhere. In almost every school there are always certain kids who get picked on and certain kids who tend to be the bullies. Many have just accepted this as ‘the way it is’ or a ‘right of passage’ but sometimes the victims of bullying never fully recover and carry this pain in fear from school into adulthood.

This brings us to today’s story about a mother named Samantha Flemming and her daughter Melissa Flemming. Melissa was born with a rare condition called Microcephaly which caused her head to be smaller at birth than it should be and her brain development in turn develops slower than the other children. When the school year had begun Melissa had really long hair but her hair was strangely getting subtly shorter as the months progressed.

One morning mom made her little girl breakfast and sent her off to school like any other day, nothing was too out of the ordinary. When her daughter got back from school at the end of the day Mom had noticed that her daughters hair had gotten a lot shorter than when she left the house earlier that day. This was the most drastic it had ever been and Samantha had realized something was truly wrong.

At first she thought maybe her daughter was just cutting her own hair experimentally or maybe she and a friend were giving each other makeovers and cut each other’s hair and this time the friend just went a little overboard with the clippers. However the truth would be so much worse than she initially imagined.

Because of Melissa’s disorder she had a lot of trouble speaking and being able to vocalize how she felt and what she had been going through. Her mom began to fire questions at her because she was becoming very concerned at this hair shortening situation. Finally it became clear from Melissa’s description that a group of ‘mean girls’ at school had been making fun of her and cutting clumps of her hair out for the past few months.
