Brilliant NASA Engineer Was Sick of Thieves Stealing His Packages So He Creates a Gadget That Brings Them Instant Justice!

image via – youtube.com
In a world where online ordering has become the norm, deliveries of packages and signing for them has become more and more common place. With the uptick in online sales and deliveries there is also and equal increase in packages being stolen by criminals and thieves. Some of these thieves make their entire living off stealing other people’s packages and selling the stolen goods for profit.
These people have been named ‘porch pirates’ and for the most part they don’t look like your average hardened criminal you would expect to see. Some neighborhoods are scouted out by these ‘porch pirates’ and packages are stolen from all the houses in the neighborhood over and over again until they get smart too it, then the ‘porch pirates’ move to the next unsuspecting neighborhood.
You would think that most packages would probably be stolen from cities, but it is easier for these porch pirates to run their schemes in the suburbs where there are way less people and prying eyes who could potentially catch them. A really strange statistic in the United States is that North Dakota is the state with the highest rate of porch pirate theft in the entire country. The people in North Dakota are a whopping 26x more likely to be victims of this type of theft than the average person in America!
Usually these thieves can get away with this package theivery for months and even years before they ever run into any problems that would leave them being caught and eventually going to jail. However, sometimes they end up stealing from the wrong house or neighborhood and karma ends up serving them what they deserve real quick. Unfortunately though many of us have been victims to these porch pirates and don’t even realize it. A lot of times we think the package was just not delivered due to a problem with the post office or Fedex.
Many of us who are actually aware that we have been victims of this crime, have imagined and fantasized about how we would get our revenge and catch these thieves in the act however most of us never do actually get to catch them. Sometimes though, they are caught and even if it’s not your stuff, you can live vicariously through the person who catches them and get a bit of catharsis out of it.
This brings us to today’s story which features a NASA engineer who was getting really sick and tired of these ‘porch pirates’ stealing his packages and he decided to come up with a brilliant and scientific plan that only a NASA engineer could possibly think up. Not only did he come up with an ingenious plan but he caught it all on video so we can all watch with popcorn and enjoy!

Vet Notices Chihuahuas Tummy Is Getting Abnormally Large. She Looks Inside and Is Stunned By What She Sees!

image via – youtube.com
Chihuahua’s are the smallest recognized dog breed and yet they often pack the most attitude. The little dogs are ideal for people who don’t have that much space at home and since they’re very smart, they’re easy to train. As diminutive as they appear, Chihuahuas can be quite aggressive and are usually protective of their owners.
Bill and Dawn Slater know what it’s like to share their home and hearts with a Chihuahua. They are the proud parents of Coco, a little Chihuahua that made history back in 2011. It all started when the couple noticed that Coco was pregnant. Although the animal lovers already had a couple of cats and a Collie Terrier, they were more than happy to add even more fur babies to their animal family.
When the Slaters brought Coco to the vet for a routine checkup, they also wanted to make sure she was okay since her belly seemed to be massively swollen. After examining her, the vet reassured them that Coco was perfectly healthy and expecting five puppies. They brought her home and made her as comfortable as possible since she was due to give birth any day.
When the delivery day did come, they were more than ready and excited to meet the new pups. Hours after she had first gone into labor, Coco had given birth to five puppies. When the fifth one came out, the Slaters thought she was done but then they noticed that another baby was being born! Surprised and happy at the unexpected extra puppy, they thought once again that surely this must be the last one. But just a few moments later Coco proved them wrong and gave birth to a seventh, then an eighth, and ninth puppy!
At this point the Slaters were extremely worried about their little Coco’s health. She was such a small dog to begin with, could her body handle such an intense labor? The average litter size of a Chihuahua is 5 puppies and she was well past that. Even for a large breed dog, having any more than nine or ten puppies is high risk. The ninth one she’d given birth to wasn’t doing well either, he needed to be revived after his bag had burst. While they were dealing with him, Coco delivered a tenth puppy!
Fortunately for Coco and the Slaters, the tenth one was also the last one. They managed to revive the ninth one and it had no further issues. In fact, all 10 puppies were found to be in excellent health and although she was exhausted (who wouldn’t be), Coco survived. She also ended up achieving a Guinness World Record for most puppies delivered by a Chihuahua when she had her 10 babies. Who knew such a tiny little dog had it in her!?

The Easiest Way To Get Rid Of Mosquitoes. This Simple Trick Will Save You This Year!

For people (and animals!) who live in areas where they are active, mosquitoes can become almost unbearable. But only the female mosquitoes bite – they are what are called ectoparasites, which means they are parasites that live on the outside of their host. They use their exposed, elongated mouth part, called a proboscis, to suck the blood from a host like a syringe.

The loss of blood is minuscule and has little effect on the host, but the saliva of the mosquito irritates the skin and can leave the bitten area itching for days. Worse yet, mosquitoes act as vectors for disease, meaning they pick up the disease from one host and carry it to the next. The most common and dangerous mosquito-borne illnesses include malaria, yellow fever and west nile virus.

Mosquitoes go through various stages in their life cycle: egg, larva, pupa and adult. It takes approximately 40 days for the insect to go from egg to adult. Once they reach the adult stage, the males live about 5-7 days, while the females can live for 1-2 weeks.

During their adult life, the females seek a host in order to get that sweet, tasty blood. Once they have achieved their goal, it takes them a day or two for digestion and growth of eggs, which they lay in stagnant water. They then seek another host and repeat.

Now that you know more than you ever wanted to know about mosquitoes, watch the video to find out how to trap them in order to avoid the negative impact their day to day lives have on ours! How well did the trap work for you? Any hints or modifications that you found were especially helpful? Tell us in the comments.

Which Of The 4 Introvert Types Are You?

image via – shutterstock.com
According to scientists, there are four types of introverts. Which type most closely aligns with your personality type? Are you terrified to go out in public, and even thinking about the sound of someone knocking on your door causes you to break out in a cold sweat?
Or are you totally comfortable in social situations, and everyone you know would say you are extroverted, even though you know deep down inside that you are really an introvert? You may not mind being with other people, you might even genuinely enjoy it, but you need your alone time and feel drained when you are around too many people for too long, at the expense of spending time alone?
The four types of introverts are as follows:
The social introvert, who prefers to be alone or in small groups, but not because she is nervous in a larger group. She just prefers it that way.
Next is the anxious introvert, who is similar to the social introvert in that he prefers small groups of familiar people or solitude, but the anxious type steers clear of large groups of strangers out of anxiety, and is often still anxious even when alone.
The contemplative type is introverted because they like to get lost in their own fantasy world, and it is a creative or imaginative introversion that does not result from fear of social situations.
The last type, restrained introversion, could also be referred to as reserved. They like to think before they speak, and often times take a while to get moving on things, including getting up in the morning and getting into their day.
The idea that there are four types of introvert, rather than one blanket category, has come about due to the incongruence between the status quo scientific definition, and how introverts define themselves. Scientists started to notice the inconsistency, and have come up with these four categories to more accurately describe peoples’ actual experience in life.

Everyone Thought THIS Dog Was Guarding Her Humans Gravesite. But Then This Rescuer Discovers an Unthinkable Secret!

image via – youtube.com
A little while back animal lovers across the internet were moved by a sweet photo that went viral. The picture was from Serbia and depicted a german shepherd lying at a grave. Many thought it looked like the dog was grieving for his deceased master. However, something about the photo was not quite how it appeared.
Science has confirmed that dogs can actually feel love for you as they have the intellect equivalent similar to a two-year-old. Since dogs can love, is it possible that the dog was truly mourning? Possibly. There are certainly examples of dogs doing the same thing in history. One animal rescuer was not fully convinced.
Vesna Mihaljoski investigated the grave. Upon arriving, she confirmed that the dog was still at the grave. She looked closer. First, she noticed that the dog was actually in a hole that it had dug beneath the grave. Second, she was actually cuddling a litter of puppies.
The real reason that the dog refused to leave the grave was now clear. She had dug a den to protect her puppies. Luckily, Mihaljoski decided to adopt the mother and her pups. It turns out that the dog wasn’t mourning at all. With that discovery, the story turned from a tragic one into a happy one!

This Is The Surprising Reason Doctors Are Saying If You Cross Your Legs Stop Right NOW!

image via – youtube.com
Did your mother ever used to tell you to sit like a lady and cross your legs? Mine did and even if she hadn’t I would have ended up sitting like that anyways. After all, it’s a comfortable position regardless of whether or not you’re wearing a skirt or dress and need to preserve your modesty.
For many women it’s simply the way that they most often sit and they rarely give it much more thought than that. However, perhaps they should re-think sitting cross-legged because it may be bad for our health and bodies in the long run.
Surprisingly, there are several negative impacts that sitting with one leg draped over the other at the knee may lead to. For starters, it can be really bad for your lower back. That’s because it prevents you from sitting up straight and instead you’re forced to maintain a position that leads to poor posture.
Over time this causes stress and strain on the lower spine and back which can be quite painful and uncomfortable. In addition to back pain, sitting cross-legged at the knee can increase blood pressure. Studies have shown that when people sit cross legged for an extended amount of time, their blood pressure goes up.
This is because the position prevents blood from flowing strong and freely, and more blood is sent back up to your chest area. The resulting increase in blood in your upper body puts strain on the heart which has to pump more of it and that leads to increased blood pressure.
Also, by crossing your legs you can end up pinching the arteries located there which means the blood flow is inhibited and greatly reduced until you uncross them. One positive finding from research done on the topic is that there’s no proof the act of crossing ones legs may end up causing varicose veins.
That is a false and widespread rumor which appears to be believed as true by many people. However, sitting in a lady like fashion may increase the risk for developing a blood clot, especially for those who are predisposed to such medical issues.
So how should you sit? According to doctors and experts the best way to cross your legs is to do so at your feet and ankles, rather than higher up at the thighs. This cuts down on the associated health risks so if you must cross your legs, try to do it that way.
Also, as with any position you sit in, make sure to not do it for any extended period of time. Switch up your legs and get up and move around to get the blood flowing and to prevent it from pooling in any one spot or area in your body.
Stay healthy, stay happy, and make sure others stay the same and pass this along.
Do you still cross your legs?
