Brother’s Discover Old Dusty Abandoned Shed

images via – youtube.com

When you buy a new plot of land there can often be unexpected surprises, both good and bad. In the case of two brothers, Henry and Tom, their surprise happened to be an old shed left standing on a piece of property they had purchased. The brothers had bought the large plot of land to build a new home on but in the real estate contract there had been no mention of the old dusty shed which they only found when they went out to inspect the new property.

The shed was locked up securely, so they picked up an old pipe lying nearby and broke the lock. Inside it was dark and musty, it seemed as if it had sat untouched for years. They found multiple old boxes that were also locked. These were not modern or cheaply made boxes, rather they seemed quite sturdy and made to withstand time.

Their interest as to what these boxes held obviously piqued; the brothers opened them up. Inside were papers and documents that had been rolled up neatly and placed with care. When unrolled, they appeared to have intricate blueprints scrawled on them. In addition to the papers, the brothers found old pictures that showed a man alongside his family. Naturally, the men assumed that the people must be the original owner and his family who had lived there years ago before they bought the land.

The blueprints they’d found turned out to be incredibly complex and detailed. They had obviously been drafted with immense care, all the angles and lines appeared to be perfect and whoever had composed them took their time, likely months, to make it right. Within all of this
fine work one particular detail stood out to the brothers. It was the signature of whomever had made the blueprints which appeared on each page as a “RS” inside of an upside down triangle.

While many people would have tossed the papers aside or thrown them out, the brothers were very interested, and they had to get to the bottom of them. They made it their mission to find out everything they could about them and knew exactly where to start digging, the local library. Yet after sifting through different books for hours on end, they were no closer to figuring out who the mysterious “RS” could be.

Realizing they needed to switch gears, the brothers decided to try a different approach. They placed an advertisement in the local paper appealing for help with their search and included a picture of the triangle with the initials inside of it. Then they waited for someone, anyone, to hopefully respond with relevant information.

Months went by with no news, but the brothers kept the ad running. Finally one morning they received a phone call from a man who said he was a historian who believed he could help them. He had seen their ad in the paper and believed he knew who “RS” could be. He also had many other documents and files which he said would likely be of great interest to the brothers.

The historian’s information ended up answering the brother’s question and it turned out that the man they had been searching months for was named Robert Stevenson. They were correct in their assumption that he was the original owner of the land. What they weren’t expecting was to share a last name with the man! In a twist of fate they later found out that they were related to him.

According to the historian, Robert Stevenson lived there back in the 19th century where he was known to be a very wealthy man. However, very little else other than his date of birth and wealth was known about him. The brothers and historian shared the papers they each had with one another in hopes of finding out more and soon enough something jumped out at them.

The blueprint the brothers had found looked almost exactly like one the historian had in his possession. It showed the layout of the land and the original house in the middle, along with the triangled initials. However, upon further close inspection they found that the historian’s copy was missing a room, which happened to be where the shed now stood. The brothers knew they had to take a closer look at the old shed and immediately went over to it.

During their inspection Tom happened to stomp on the ground and heard a strange noise. It sounded like there was a hollow space underneath, so the brothers started digging. They quickly uncovered a wooden hatch and opened it up. Inside it was pitch black and a ladder led down into a hole. On the wall three steps down hung an old oil lamp, which they decided to try and use since they didn’t have a flashlight. Incredibly it worked!

Once lit, the room came to life before them and what they saw was completely unexpected. Rather than a dingy cellar, they had found a living room! It was filled with old sturdy antique furniture and knickknacks. A large oil painting hung on the wall of Robert Stevenson and his family, in which Henry noticed that a corner was loose and gaped a bit. He stuck his finger in the gap and ended up pulling out a key and an old envelope with a wax seal reading “RS.”

They excitedly opened the letter up and it read:
“If you find this secret room and my letter you are a direct descendant of my bloodline and with that you are entitled to all my family’s riches. The key that comes along with this letter will help you unlock all of my wealth. This is my way to ensure the future for my family and all kin that follows.”

The brothers were amazed at what they had discovered and just read. They tried the key in a nearby chest and upon opening it found themselves staring at a treasure trove of silver and gold coins!

After their discovery the brothers decided to use the blueprints to rebuild the original family home as an homage to Robert Stevenson and their newfound legacy. They even used original materials that had been documented in the plans and after two years it was finished. They even rebuilt the secret hidden room, which some day may be re-discovered by their heirs.

We are going to thoroughly run through some of the best little known vinegar life hacks that will make your life so much easier.

Is your drain clogged? Try pouring baking soda, followed by vinegar, down the drain and watch the magic. Something gooey sticking to your wall? Grab the vinegar and give it a squirt, then easily wipe it away.

Does your trash can smell like garbage, even when it’s empty? Soak a piece of bread in vinegar and leave it in the garbage can overnight, and voila, no more stank. It can also be used as an all-purpose cleaner: just fill up a spray bottle with one third vinegar and two thirds water.

Too many fruit flies? Fill a glass with apple cider vinegar, cover it with plastic wrap, and poke a few holes. The flies enter, but cannot escape. It can even be used to straighten clothes if an iron isn’t available. When it comes to cleaning just about everyone loves learning new simple ways to get the same old things done. It can be fun and interesting to discover what nifty and quick solutions people have come up with to solve common problems. This video, from YouTube channel Outdoors and Gear Review highlights a helpful trick for dealing with a common and difficult problem you’re likely to encounter when tidying and cleaning your bathroom up; hard water deposits and stains.

Hard water can be a real pain in the neck and the nasty looking stains and blemishes that it leaves behind on bathroom and kitchen surfaces can be extremely hard to fully remove. The ugly spots and stains are caused by water that contains large amounts of minerals such as limestone, calcium, and magnesium.

These metals and minerals are naturally occurring, most often in areas with low water tables and mountainous regions, and water that contains them is perfectly safe to use and drink. The biggest downside to it is the crusty, whitish colored mineral deposits and stubborn stains it leaves behind. Over time these gradually build up on stuff, especially faucets and shower heads.

Many people struggle to remove these stains and often think that they need strong, harsh chemical cleaners to get rid of them effectively. However, there’s a better and more affordable way to go about cleaning a shower head with crusted on mineral build up. All you need is apple cider vinegar, a Ziploc bag, and a rubber band.

Simply pour some apple cider vinegar into the plastic bag and place it over and on the shower head. Use a rubber band to secure it in place and then leave it on overnight. Remove the baggy the following day, wipe the shower head clean, and it should be restored to its former glory!

Check out the video for more information and to see just how shiny and spotless looking it turns out. This may be the fastest, easiest, and most natural way to clean hard water stains. It requires minimal effort or exertion on your part so try it the next time you’re stuck cleaning the house!

Check out These 5 Awesome Vaseline Life Hacks Everyone Should Know:

image via – facebook.com

While you may only think of Vaseline as an integral part of your grandmother’s home remedies and go to solutions, it actually really is a product that can seemingly do it all. People use the petroleum based, gooey, slippery substance for all sorts of things. There are countless household and beauty tricks that involve it, whether it’s loosening stuff up or smearing some on minor cuts and burns to help them heal. This article and video focuses on several beauty related uses for the product that may prove useful and come in handy, and will definitely save you time and money.

If you love to paint your nails then you likely have encountered polish bottles with their tops stuck on them. It takes almost superhuman strength to loosen and get them them of when they dry on and stick like that. To prevent this, take a cotton swab and dab some Vaseline around the base of the bottle opening and on the threads where the cap twists on, now it won’t stick the next time you go to open it.

Another nail polish trick is to coat the skin around your nails with some Vaseline before painting them. This will keep the polish from sticking to your skin, cut down on the clean up, and make your paint job look all the more professional.

If you have rough, dry skin on your feet rub a little Vaseline on them before you go to bed. Slather some all over your feet, then put on a pair of socks, and wake up to smooth soft skin. For those of us with sensitive ears that act up and become sore when wearing earrings, try rubbing Vaseline on the metal stud part that goes through your ear.

By coats the earring it helps them slide through and lessens any negative reaction or sensitivity you may have. If the scent of your perfume disappears way too quickly take some Vaseline, apply a thin coat to the area where you plan to spritz it on, then spray the perfume over that area. This works great at holding the fragrance and makes it last much more longer, plus it won’t alter the perfume’s scent.

If you haven’t already, toss a small jar of the wonder product in your bag so it’s always on hand close by. Use it to touch up makeup, soften rough skin, loosen stuck tops and lids, or as a lip gloss/chap-stick stand in when you inevitably lose or misplace them.

Besides being versatile, it’s also widely available and can be found in practically any pharmacy, health, convenience or grocery store around the world. Best of all, Vaseline is relatively cheap and costs only a few dollars, with a jar of it easily lasting a year or two before running out. With Vaseline, the possibilities may just be endless!

The Next Batch of Life Hacks are some incredibly useful winter life hacks that will make your life so much easier this winter:

image via : shutterstock.com

Along with the cold weather, there are a number of special challenges that winter brings along with it, and we all have to just deal with them! Dry skin, chapped lips, stuffy noses, darkness at 4PM, winter storms, the list goes on and on. One of the most annoying things by far is clearing walkways and driveways of snow and ice. The same goes for cars, but while you can often drive through a little bit of snow, you can’t with an ice-covered windshield. Not only is it illegal to drive with an obstructed view, it’s also insanely dumb and extremely dangerous!

While defrosting the car and scraping ice off the windshield seems like a necessary evil, it doesn’t have to be. You really don’t need to wake up extra early just to stumble around in the freezing cold darkness so that you can drive to work. Instead, you can save yourself some time and energy by doing the following:

In a spray bottle container mix together 2 parts isopropyl alcohol with 1 part water and then add in 1 tablespoon of liquid dish soap. Shake it up, spray it directly onto an icy windshield, and watch the ice literally melt away right before your very eyes!

This rubbing alcohol spray is the perfect thing to have on hand for freezing cold mornings and icy windshields. You can leave the bottle in your car and it won’t even freeze, unless it gets well under zero. That’s because the freezing point of isopropyl alcohol is -128.2 degrees Fahrenheit, so when you spray it on the ice, it doesn’t freeze up. Instead, it helps to melt the ice and keeps it from re-freezing. Since all you have to do is mist it on, it’s by far the quickest and easiest way to clear a windshield that’s coated with a thick layer of ice.

Don’t forget to check out the video to see exactly how well this works in action and be sure to pass it along to those who could use the smart tip. If it can make someone’s life a little bit easier this winter, then it’s worth it!

This is super helpful for those rough winter months.

Winter is tough. Along with the cold, dry weather comes a number of challenges that we all have to deal with. Cars need to be cleared of snow and ice and the same goes for walkways and driveways. Traveling often becomes way more difficult than usual and to top it off our health also takes a tumble for the worse.

Many of us are plagued by dry itchy skin, sore chapped lips, and stuffy noses that just won’t go away. These things quickly add up and can make it seem like winter is dragging on forever, especially when problems pop up outside on top of the health issues we may be facing.

Which is why these simple winter hacks, covered by the Millennial Moms YouTube channel, are perfect for right now. The video features some of the most clever ways to solve common winter woes and it might offer a solution to a problem you’re currently dealing with. These are some of the best hacks shown in the clip, but there are a total of fifteen, so be sure to check it out for all of the rest.

1) Winterize Boots- This trick does the job to keep feet warm and dry inside of boots that aren’t waterproof. After putting on your socks take two large plastic Ziploc bags and stick a foot in each. Grab a couple of rubber bands and slide them on over the bag to secure it in place and seal the top off around your leg. Pull on your boots and say goodbye to cold, wet feet.

2) Prevent Static Build Up In Hair- Pull a dryer sheet on over the bristles of your hair brush so that they poke through. Brush your hair as normal to eliminate the static, plus it’ll smell clean and great.

3) DIY Boot Inserts- Maintain the shape of tall boots by cutting a foam pool noodle into thirds or fourths, then stick a piece in each boot and they’ll stay upright, making them easier to organize and wear later on.

4) Stop Wipers From Freezing to a Car Windshield- Take an old pair of long cotton socks and slide them over each wiper, puling it down as far as it can go or reaches. This will prevent wipers from freezing and/or sticking to the windshield, and makes life all the more easier.

5) Organize Winter Gear- Hats, scarves, gloves, mittens, hand warmers, neck warmers and all other winter accessories can be neatly stored in one accessible place with a shoe organizer. Hang it over a door and never search for lost gloves again.

6) Windshield Treatment- This one is the best! A combination of vinegar and water works wonders at preventing frost and ice from building up on car windshields and windows. Mix the two liquids up in a spray bottle, spritz it on car windows, then wipe off with a soft cloth.

7) Boot Tray- Keep floors safe, clean, and dry by making your own boot tray. This one is much more appealing than commercially available ones and works even better. Fill a large metal cookie sheet with a layer of decorative rocks and put it near the door so that when people enter they can immediately place wet boots on the rocks. The water will drip through the rocks to the bottom and soon evaporate. Don’t forget to check out the rest of the tips covered in the clip and be sure to pass it along to those who could use these smart hacks to make their own lives easier.

These are just really helpful.

Having your car professionally detailed can easily end up being quite expensive. While it’s always nice to have a sparkling clean car, it’s even better when you can have it without spending a small fortune. Thankfully there are all sorts of cheap ways to clean your car with common items that you probably already have around the house. They can do the job just as well, if not even better, than what professional cleaners use.

These are just a few of the handy tricks covered in the accompanying video so be sure to check it out for even more:

Clean your headlights with toothpaste. Use regular toothpaste, not the gel type, to polish up car headlight lenses by rubbing it on evenly with a cloth. Move in quick circular motions to then buff it off and you should notice the grime and fogginess disappear.

Remove stubborn old bumper stickers cleanly and completely with WD-40. Simply spray the sticker with WD-40 and let it sit for a while, the sticker will absorb it, then you can peel it right off.

Remove pet fur from carpets and seats with a spray bottle, water, and a squeegee. Spray the water on the seat and then move the squeegee over the area, it will gather and lift up the hair so you can easily pick it up.

Clean air vents with small foam brushes. They can easily fit in even the smallest vents and pick up all the dirt and dust inside them.

Use coffee filters to dust your car dashboard. Unlike cloth towels and paper towels, coffee filters won’t leave behind lint or just push dust around. Instead they work great at picking up dust and you can toss a few in the glove compartment for whenever you might need one to freshen up the dash.

Get streak free windows by cleaning them with newspaper. It’s the cloths and paper towels that leave streaks when you clean your windows so don’t even bother using them. Instead, spray down the window with cleaner and wipe it off with a piece of newspaper as you normally would.

Get rid of stubborn, lingering odors by sprinkling baking soda on car seats and carpets. Let it sit for a couple of hours before vacuuming it up. The baking soda should absorb the foul odors, leaving your car smelling fresh and clean.

There are even more clean car tips covered in the video and it might just have the solution you’ve been looking for so be sure to check it out!

Guys At Work Discover an Old Tattered Wallet and Open It

images via – youtube.com/shutterstock.com

It seems like the most common misplaced things these days are your keys, cell phone and of course your wallet. This happens to everyone, even to some of us multiple times per day! There a certain heart dropping into your stomach feeling when you reach in your pocket and one of these items isn’t there and you can’t remember where the heck you put it down. Once you realize the item is gone, you go into a furious panic search and the anxious feeling doesn’t go away until after you find it.

Then you breathe in a deep sigh of relief and promise yourself you will never forget again.. That is until it happens again the next day! Out of the 3 items above, the wallet is probably the worst to lose because all your credit cards, id’s and of course money is in there. Having to go through the agonizing process of cancelling credit cards, replacing your id’s and of course not being able to recover the cash inside makes this loss particularly devastating.

This brings us to today’s fascinating story about a lost wallet that had been found. A man named Larry Sloane from Nevada, and the owner and operator of The Talent Factory Comedy Club stumbled a cross an ancient looking wallet while he was working on some renovations. Larry and his good friend were up on the third floor figuring out how they were going to renovate when they noticed something a bit out of place in between some old floorboards.

The two decided to open it up, to figure out whose wallet it was so they could hopefully get it back to the person. They opened it up and were stunned to find items they never could’ve even imagined.

The first thing they noticed were Food Stamps, however these weren’t any old food stamps they were dated back during World War 2! The were amazed and continued to look through the relic. The second thing they came across was an old worn out Boy Scout card.

Next, old photos were pulled out, a lot of them were so worn out that you couldn’t really make out the faces or what the pictures even were. However, some of them were pretty clear and you could see what looked like old family photos.

Their curiosity and imaginations began to run wild. The thought, how old was this wallet? Who did it belong to? How did it get here on the 3rd floor of The Talent Factory Comedy Club? They would soon get the answer when they pulled out a vintage personal calendar from 1944! This discovered wallet had been lost for more than 70 years!

They still didn’t know who the wallet belonged to but they would soon find out it was a man named Clare McIntosh. They wondered if he was still alive and they would find him. Somehow after picking up all the lost clues they found Clare who was now 85-years-old and he was as stunned as they were by their incredible find!

This Guy Was Putting In a New Toilet When He Suddenly Discovered a Secret That Hadn’t Been Seen For Over a Century!

image via – youtube.com

For years Luciano Faggiano had dreamed of opening his own trattoria. He had planned out everything to make the family restaurant possible and knew exactly what he wanted to include on the menu. The trattoria would be run out of his family home located at 56 Via Ascanio Grandi in Lecce, Italy, with the dining room on the ground floor and his family living quarters on the second floor.

Luciano had everything ready to go but one problem stood in his way, a leaky toilet that kept backing up. If he was going to serve delicious homemade food, he couldn’t have sewage stinking up the place and so he had to get it fixed right away. Luckily his two sons who were normally at college were home and so he had them help with the repairs.

The father son team started by slowly chipping away at the flooring to get to what they suspected was a leaky pipe. That’s when they noticed that there was a false bottom and what actually lay underneath was an open space. The smaller of the two boys was able to squeeze into the hole and what he found down there in the dark was a whole other extraordinary world.

It turned out that the Faggiano’s had found passageways and chambers that were abandoned, forgotten, and left dormant long ago. They set about excavating the underground tunnels which turned out to be a lot of work that required the removal of tons of dirt. When a suspicious neighbor noticed that an alarming amount of dirt was being brought out of the family home, they called the authorities who sent over an inspector.

When they found out what was going on, they charged Luciano with conducting an illegal excavation. While he was found guilty, he luckily escaped having to pay major fines. Any and all excavation work was ordered stopped by the courts until they decided on how to proceed. Luciano had still not found the leaky pipe and so he couldn’t open his trattoria, but now he was focused on finding out what lay beneath his home.

Finally a decision had been reached and the court said he could continue digging but only with a member of the Italian Ministry of Culture present. That way if anything of historical significance was found, it could be properly examined and preserved. Luciano got back to work and was busy trying to find the pesky pipe that was still leaking when he stumbled upon some old pavement. According to the expert on hand, it dated back to the medieval period, yet a little further searching led them to an even bigger discovery.

The Faggiano’s ended up in a Mesopotamian tomb which dated back 500 years before Christ! Further exploration uncovered a Roman granary, a Franciscan chapel, and artworks from the Knights Templar. All these amazing discoveries gave Luciano a new business idea, instead of an Italian trattoria, he’d turn his home into a museum. However, once again the authorities put a halt to his plans.

After the local government seized the best artifacts found under the house, they allowed him to open his museum. Today it is called the Museum Faggiano and anyone can visit the underground rooms and passageways to see Italian history through the ages.

THIS Father and His Kid Noticed ‘Help’ Written In The Mud. Then They Hear a Voice and Discover The Unthinkable!

image via – youtube.com

Father and son trips can be the perfect time for some special bonding. Whether its a camping, hunting or fishing trip these are usually vacations that a dad and son will never forget. I remember going on fishing and camping trips with my dad when I was a young kid and they are truly some of the greatest memories of my life. While for the most part these trips can be stress-free, enjoyable and an incredible bonding time, sometimes the unexpected can quickly snowball and change everything..

In today’s story we feature a stepfather and his stepson who were going on a regular old hunting trip to enjoy nature in all her glory. They were expecting to build campfires, hunt, fish and all the other fun stuff that comes with an outdoors father/son trip. Their trip took place in Hayden, Idaho a city with a population of around 13,000. Although there is a decent sized population, the stunning landscapes and beauty of the surrounding nature pulls in travelers from all around the world.

The stepfather and stepson would go out to their cabin in the woods multiple times per year and it was always a great time. This time however, nothing could’ve prepared them for what was to come. Immediately when they arrived in Hayden something just felt a bit strange.

As they arrived in Hayden, they noticed an active search party looking for a girl who had gone missing earlier that week. The missing girl was learning disabled and although she was 19 year old, she had the cognitive capacity of a 9-10 year old. This was no small search party either, there were around 60 people searching. There were helicopters, terrain specialists, firemen, police officers and locals all scouring the region.

Before the stepdad and stepson arrived in Hayden they had already heard about the missing girl on tv and the radio. They believed that once they got there they could be of great assistance to the current search party do to knowing the entire wooded area like the back of their hands. As they made there way to their cabin, they would have to walk a bit down a dirt road to get to the secluded house. While they were walking on the dirt road they saw something they never could’ve believed. On the dirt path in big letters it said ‘Help’.

This seemed super creepy to the young boy but his stepdad thought it was most likely a hunter or someone from the search party just laying some tracks. He thought most likely it was another hunter who probably needed help moving a deer or something of that nature. However, the stepson had a gut feeling that this message had been written by the missing girl!

They took a picture of the ‘Help’ written in the dirt and ran it over to the search party that was about to pack it in for the day, call it a night and begin looking again early the next day. When they showed the search party the image they immediately called off the plan to end the search that night and they would follow that path to try and find the poor missing girl…..

This Guy Found an Emerald Over 800 lbs Then Hid Underground Scared Someone Would Take His Life

image via – youtube.com

Have you ever found something randomly that was super expensive? Did you try seeking out and finding the owner or did you just keep it? If you kept it did you try to sell it and were you lucky enough to find a buyer? These are all questions a person must ask themselves when they accidentally discover something of value and there isn’t anybody out there claiming it. Once you do make a decision about your what your are going to do with your big find there is usually a few more steps you will have to take.

Getting it appraised, finding a buyer and making sure you aren’t getting ripped off on your sale by a clever buyer. In today’s story we will be covering an amazing tale of a discovery so big it would forever change the lives of the man who found it and his family. This incredible find took place at the Carnaiba Mine in Bahia, Brazil. A man who has decided to remain anonymous due to threats to his life and safety of his family.

This guy who would preferred to be known only ‘FG’ was working for the The Bahia Mineral Cooperative which is essentially a crew of miners who are given the legal go ahead to mine specified areas of the region. When they went out to this area to mine none of them could ever imagine in their wildest dreams would they would soon accidentally uncover.

‘FG’ was wondering through the area when something caught his eye. He just had a feeling in his gut something special was very nearby. That’s when he found a giant emerald he would later find out would be 800 pounds, over 4 feet in height and worth over a whopping 300 million dollars!

‘FG’ knew that it would physically be impossible for him to excavate the giant emerald on his own and got a crew of 10 men to help him get this extremely expensive jewel out of the ground. He decided he would pay each worker a huge sum of money for the job, but at the end of the day he would be the one and only owner of this 800 pound emerald!

Besides for the near impossible unearthing then excavation  and then transfer of the emerald ‘FG’ had another huge obstacle he would face head on. In the local area of Bahia, Brazil if word got out that he was the guy who found the unspeakably large emerald, the safety of him and his family would be in serious jeopardy.

He anticipated this even before the emerald was taken out of the ground and got an obscene amount of security to protect him. He also has gone through great lengths to make sure nobody finds out his true identity so nobody would come looking for him.

He explained that he’s already had a large amount of offers to take the emerald off his hands for 100’s of millions of dollars. The stunning green emerald was over 200 meters deep in the ground and took over 7 days to completely get it out of the ground.

The mega sized gem is made up of over 180,000 carats of emerald. A lot of times when valuable stones like this are discovered they will be broken down into jewelry however since this ones size is so large it most likely will remain in tact and after it is sold could potentially end up in a museum for everyone to admire it’s beauty.

Lady Stumbles Upon a Secret Hidden Factory! Then She Enters and Realizes She’s Made The Biggest Mistake of Her Life!

image via – youtube.com

For some people urban exploring is more than just a pastime, it’s a way of life.  Such is the case for Lana Sator, a Russian photographer who writes about the places she visits on her blog.  She’s explored many old abandoned buildings and long forgotten places in her country, but it was one site in particular that got her in a lot of trouble.

Other urban explorers and her fans had given her hints and tips about how to reach a mysterious factory located in the Khimki Forest just outside of Moscow.  No one knew for certain exactly what went on at the site and so Lana made it her mission to find out. She enlisted the help of her two closest friends, and they set out on a moonless night through the woods towards the factory.

It didn’t take long for them to find a hole in the fence to slip through and once they were on the other side, they noticed dog tracks in the snow. The place was being guarded by several large dogs who suddenly appeared up ahead.  The group shined their flashlights on the animals who then ran off towards the shelter of a barn.

Lana set her sights on gaining access to the large pipes sticking out of the ground that loomed up ahead.  Once they got closer, they were able to simply walk inside the buildings and into whatever room, hallway, or corridor they came across and climb up any ladder they pleased.  There was no one else around, not even a security guard or signs of anyone have recently been there. While they did come across some old security cameras, they were either not functioning or no one was watching them because no one ever came, no alarm ever sounded, nothing stopped them.

The group took pictures of the rooms that were packed with tubes, pipes, and control panels.  Still unsure as to what they were dealing with, they forged on and that’s when they came across a rocket engine and it all started to make sense.  They were inside a top secret rocket factory. Before leaving, Lana posed to take a picture with one of the rockets, which turned out to be a huge mistake.

Days later Lana uploaded photos of her latest trip to her blog and not only did her fans take notice of them, the Russian government did as well.  A short time after that she received a cease and desist letter from Dmitry Rogozin, the Deputy Prime Minister in charge of Defense industry in Russia.  On that same day, police came to her door and told her she could never enter the top secret facility ever again. If she did, there would be consequences the next time around.  Lana did receive a fine for trespassing, but when she was told to remove the pictures she had taken from her website, she refused to take them down!

Once the story broke about how easily three civilians were able to sneak into a top secret missile facility, Russian defense officials were obviously not happy.  Most of their disdain fell not on Lana and her friends, but on the dismal lack of security at the sensitive site. New and improved security measures were ordered to be put into place at all Russian military and space related factories and anyone who allowed similar types of breaches going forward would be harshly punished.

In the end, Lana and her friends escaped prosecution for sneaking onto the site.  It turned out that they were at an active NPO Energomash rocket factory. Energomash manufactures the Soyuz rocket, as well as the RD-180 liquid fuel engine which America uses to power its Atlas rockets among others.  Rather than apologize for what she did, Lana claims she exposed serious security flaws that were being overlooked and that she hopes they have been fixed and improved since then.
