There is nothing in this world that will unconditionally love you more than a dog. Canine and Humankind has bonded into a mutual symbiotic relationship that has been evolving for thousands of years. The bond between these amazing species of animal and their humans is simply remarkable. Dogs have learned how to help people in almost everyway you could ever imagine. From service dogs, police dogs, sled dogs to family dogs their adaptation, loyalty, intelligence and devoted love to their pack/family are unmatched. This brings us to today’s featured canine tale.

Midnight a Beautiful Lab Mix followed her human Tim Cufman outside to git rid of the trash. Almost immediately her spidey senses began to tingle and she knew something wasn’t right! Before this day Midnight had not been much for security as a watch dog so Tim thought something really must’ve spooked Midnight and that there was something or someone out there who couldbe a potential threat to himand his family.

That night it just so happened to be during one of the ‘polar vortexes’ in Minnesota that year. The temperatures had dropped below 0 and being outside for a prolonged period of time could put you in grave danger. In fact, it was so cold in Minnesota that week that all public schools, public transportation, air travel. offices and even the postal office were closed until the dangerous freeze passed!

Tim had watched a report earlier that the freeze has already been fatal to 20 people. So his plan was just to get the trash to the bins and run back into his warm and cozy home. The problem was Midnight was going wild and was trying to get her human to follow him so he could see what it was. Eventually after Midnight wouldn’t give up, Tim decided to follow her outside to see if something was really lurking.

Little did Tim know, there wasn’t a threat out there, but he was actually going to save a person’s life!

Do Your Remember That Viral Picture of The ‘Nigerian Witch’ Boy. Wait Until You See Him Now!

image via – youtube.com

In January of 2016 Anja Ringgren Loven, a Danish aid worker, went to Nigeria as part of a rescue mission.  It was there that she met a little boy, now named Hope, who was about 2 years old when he changed her life forever.  The child was in dire condition and yet no one seemed to care. He had been accused of being a witch by his family and was cast out onto the streets, left to fend for himself for at least eight months.  When he was found he was naked, homeless, skeletal, his body was riddled with worms, and he was starved to the point where he was nearly dead.

When the aid group that Anja was part of came across Hope he was standing on a dirt road holding a small piece of cracker in one hand.  Anja had bent down to give him a sip of water from a plastic bottle and the moment was captured in a photo that went viral across the globe after she shared it online.

People were shocked and outraged at the treatment and condition of the poor small boy who had done nothing to deserve such a sad life.  More importantly, they were moved to contribute to the charity that Anja set up, African Children’s Aid Education and Development Foundation (ACAEDF), which rescues abandoned children just like Hope who have been accused of being witches.  They have their work cut out for them, in Nigeria alone there are an estimated 15,000 children who have been accused of witchcraft and the issue is growing. Oftentimes they live as social pariahs, many are beaten, tortured, or simply left to fend for themselves, sadly some end up murdered.

Thanks to the charity, many get a second chance at life.  After Anja and her mission co-workers rescued Hope from the streets, he received treatment for malnutrition and a variety of medical conditions.  Today he lives alongside 35 other children at an orphanage that Anja and her husband, David Emmanuel Umen, manage in Eket, Nigeria.

As you can see from the updated photo that she recreated with him, Hope looks nothing like his former self.  Now he is healthy and smiling, dressed in new school clothes, his eyes shine bright, and he looks ready to take on life.  Only a year had passed between the two pictures and the change is absolutely astounding. His recovery is a testament not only to the work that Anja and other charities like hers do, but also to what a difference the love, understanding, and hope they are given can make.

15-Year-Old Spots Young Kid Crying Hysterically On The Bus. He Realizes The Truth and Hands Him Cash!

image via – shutterstock.com

Starting off at a new school is always stressful no matter what age or how confident you may be.  Whether going to first grade, middle school, high school, college, or moving to a whole new area, having to navigate your way through foreign buildings and hallways filled with new people on the first day of school is daunting.  On top of being unsure of where you’re going, there’s the ever present social pressure of wanting to fit in overshadowing the whole experience.

High school tends to be the most anxiety inducing time in a person’s life.  There’s so many changes going on all at once and teenagers don’t make it easy on one another.  However, there are many kids out there who really care about their fellow students and who won’t hesitate to help someone in need.

Fifteen year old Tom O’Brian from Liverpool, England is one of the good kids.  After the first day of classes he was taking the bus home from Holy Family Catholic School and chatting with friends and other students about their day.  Tom soon noticed an eleven year old boy crying at the back of the bus and instead of ignoring him, he asked what was wrong. Explaining through tears, the boy told him how he had accidentally gotten on the wrong bus and was lost.  He had no idea how to even get home and had no cell phone to call someone for help on him.

Tom and two of his friends quickly stepped in to help the younger boy out and they all got off the bus at the next stop.  They were near one of the boy’s house, so they headed there to wait for a taxi they’d called to bring the lost eleven year old home.  When the cab arrived the boy explained that he had no money to pay for it and without hesitating Tom gave him ten pounds to cover the fare.

A fellow student had overseen what happened on the bus and how the group of friends had rallied around the lost boy to help him out.  When he got home, he mentioned it to his mother and she ended up posting about it on Facebook, saying that their thoughtful gesture had restored her faith in people.  She mentioned that if anyone knew the boys or their parents to let them know that they’d raised a great child. The story spread and Tom’s sister eventually saw it and confirmed his identity.  She also said that the school had called Tom to thank him and that he probably wouldn’t like all the attention for doing something that seemed so normal. If only more people shared his mindset the world would be a much better place.

In the end, the taxi driver even heard the story of what happened and dropped the fare money off at the school, saying that it should be returned to Tom.  The lost boy eventually made it home safely as well and figured out the proper bus to take home. It just goes to show that stepping up and doing the right thing can be very easy and rewarding.

Boy Gets Cruelly Rejected Before Dance and Everyone Makes Fun Of Him. Then 13 Girls Line Up and Do THIS

image via – youtube.com

It takes guts to ask someone you like out.  Whether it’s on a date, to dinner or the movies, prom or a school dance, there’s really no easy way around it.  You basically have to be direct and just go for it. These days kids have even upped the ante, they stage elaborate promposals and make signs asking their crush to accompany them.  What used to be a simple question asked awkwardly between two people is now a public affair.

That has made the humiliation of a rejection all the more public as well.  One high school student learned this the hard way when he asked a classmate to go to the homecoming dance with him last October.  Dakota Nelton, a sophomore from Gray, Louisiana, had made a big sign asking his close friend if she’d go to the dance with him, it would be his first ever date.

He waited for the girl in the school hallway and popped the question when class was in session and kids were all around. Unfortunately, things didn’t go as planned and she said no.  Dakota was crestfallen and dropped his sign in disappointment. Some of the kids who had overheard started laughing at him and a few were so cruel that they trampled on his sign, as if he needed another punch to the heart.

Things only got worse from there because someone had captured the whole thing on camera and uploaded it to the internet for the entire school and anyone in the world to see.  Now everyone could watch Dakota get rejected over and over again.

The video soon caught the attention of Alyssa Buckley, a fellow student at Dakota’s high school.  She and a group of girls didn’t like what they saw in the clip and instead of laughing at him they felt empathy for him.  Wanting to do something to help him they rallied together and by the time Monday morning rolled around 13 girls had joined the cause.

What they had decided to do was ask Dakota to homecoming at the same hallway location where he’d been rejected.  Each one had made a sign and they went up to him one after another, asking him to go to the dance with them. When he’d left school the previous Friday it must have felt like one of the worst days in his life, and now Monday was turning out to be one of the best days!

He now had 13 girls to go to homecoming with and he was more popular then ever before. Best of all, his faith in humanity, and girls, was restored.

Nobody Showed Up To Their Son’s Birthday Party. When Mom Found Out The Reason Is Disgusting!

image via – youtube.com

Some of my happiest memories are of my birthday parties during early childhood.  The parties were great, but the anticipation of having all my friends come, planning the party games, blowing out the candles on the beautiful cake and of course the excitement of opening presents!

Gerald Hamilton, a sweet 9-year-old boy was anticipating his birthday party on April 2nd, with the same kind of excitement.  He had invited all 30 of his classmates, and 12 had responded that they could come.  The party was called for 3:00…and none of his guests arrived.  At 4:00, still no one!

By 5:00 Laura Hamilton, Gerald’s dejected mom, suggested they cut the cake.  Gerald, still holding onto hope said, “But one of my friends might come”…but no one did.  Laura called  the parents of the kids who had RSVP’d they were coming, to find out why their child didn’t show up, and was told over and over, that the children did not like Gerald!

I am heartbroken just reporting this story, so you can imagine Gerald’s and his family’s sadness.  On the video you are about to watch below, you will see this sweet boy talk about his sadness, and what his greatest advocate, his grandma, did about it.

After the kid’s parents were actually so insensitive and heartless, to tell Laura that their children didn’t want to come to the party because Gerald is too different for them to play with him, his Grandma took to social media.  You see, Gerald is a bit slower than his peers, as he has had to undergo several skull expansion surgeries.

Grandma Amelia Lara reported, with tears in her eyes to Channel 2 News, that she just felt she had to do something to help her heartbroken grandson.  With hurt and determination she took to social media, and posted the following on Facebook: “How sad; he is 9, he just wants to have friends.

So no one came, no cards, no presents. So, it is my mission to have as many cards as I can mailed to my little guy. You can send them to me and I’ll make sure he gets them … this breaks my heart.”

The response from around the world, as far away as Vietnam and England, was overwhelming kindness and generosity. Gifts and cards came from everywhere, wishing this sweet boy Happy Birthday, love and best wishes.  This outpouring of caring brought comfort and a big smile to Gerald’s face, whom you will see reading his cards which meant so much to him.

No child should ever have to suffer the isolation of rejection of having no friends, due to a handicap.  Clearly the sadness of Gerald’s situation can and should be remediated for the future.  But the kindness of strangers took the sting out of what happened to him on his 9th birthday.

If you want to send Gerald a small gift, or just a card or letter so that he knows that people care, you too can help lift  his spirits via the mailing address below: Gerald Hamilton c/o Amelia Lara 238 Main Street Hobart, IN 46342.
