A Strange and Simple Smell Test Using This Common Food Can Reveal Alzheimer’s Before Symptoms Begin.

The devastation of a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease, is a crushing blow for patients and families alike. Symptoms often go undetected until some really bizarre and often dangerous behavior occurs. As there is no cure as yet for this degenerative brain disease, researchers have been working on finding a means for early diagnosis, that is affordable and will allow treatment to begin to slow down the progression of the disease.

As the website “MNT” has reported, one of the first manifestations of cognitive decline, is a deficiency in sense of smell. Being able to detect smells has a direct link to the first cranial nerve; impairment in this area begins the downward functioning of cognition.

This fact led a group of researchers at the University of Florida Health, led by Jennifer Stamps, to test the acuity of patients’ sense of smell as a potential avenue for early diagnosis of cognitive impairment. Stamps illustrates and explains how they went about doing this, in the video you are about to watch below.

What they discovered was truly a BREAKTHROUGH for EARLY DETECTION of ALZHEIMER’S DISEASE as well as other kinds of DEMENTIA. Stamps explains in the footage below that, “All of the Alzheimer’s patients had a left nostril impairment [while] the right nostril was  normal at odor detection [of PEANUT BUTTER]”. While “Alzheimers.net” concurs with the validity of this process for existing Alzheimers, they point out that impaired sense of smell is associated with numerous cognitive impairments.

If you or your family members suspect some cognitive decline and/or a diminished sense of  smell, go see a neurologist rather than testing this out at home. Sometimes we imagine deficits that come from fear of

Alzheimers or other forms of dementia, but if these thoughts plague you, it is better to be safe than sorry. Early diagnosis and treatment, should your fears be a reality, will help to ensure a longer quality of life.

Every time I Went To My Best Friend’s Home It Smelled Incredible. But Then She Revealed THIS Trick!

It is wonderful to have our homes smell good, and scented candles became very popular over the last decade.  That is, until it was discovered that many of these candles and scented sprays contain really dangerous chemicals, that can cause permanent lung damage.

I, myself, have stopped using those candles that I used to love, because of the inherent health hazard they carry.  I’m always looking for natural alternatives that are chemical free, to provide a nice fresh smell in my home.  When I came upon this DIY video for creating a natural air freshener I was intrigued.

The video below is a great tutorial for how to easily, inexpensively and quickly make your own fresh and chemical-free deodorizer.  Two alternative versions are demonstrated, which differ slightly in how they release the fragrance.

For both versions, all you will need are: a MASON JAR WITH A TIN LID, HAMMER, FORK, EMPTY CANDLE CONTAINER, SCREWDRIVER, BAKING SODA AND SOME ESSENTIAL OIL.  The DIY is easy to follow, and gives you a great means to slow-release a pleasant scent into any room in your home.

Nobody Understood Why Her House Always Smelled So Good. So She Finally Revealed THIS Secret!

image via – youtube.com

For any active family, keeping your house fresh smelling is always a cross to bear and a priority.  I have found that deodorizing furniture, pungent sports equipment and stinky pet odors are best tackled by Febreze.  However, if you go through the stuff like I do, you will find that the cost mounts up incredibly.

The video you are about to watch below, not only circumvents the cost of endlessly having to buy Febreze, but offers a DIY freshening spray that doesn’t include the residue caused by fabric softener.  With three ingredients you will be able to follow this simple, yet incredibly effective odor neutralizer.

The two active ingredients, which get blended with hot water, are BAKING SODA and DOWNY UNSTOPPABLES.  The Unstoppables are small scented beads that get added to laundry to boost freshness.

They do so without leaving residue on fabrics or irritating skin for those who are sensitive.  A funnel and empty spray bottle will aid in the ease with which you can follow this great home freshening tutorial.

Let us know if you will try this and how it turns out! Watch the video below for a more in depth step by step tutorial!

7 Simple Natural and Unexpected Home Remedies That Will Get Rid Of Armpit Odor Instantly With No Chemicals!

Underarm odor is one of life’s stinky little problems. The unpleasant smell is often attributed to sweating, but there is more to it than just that. Of course, sweat plays a major role in it and we often sweat in response to stress, anxiety, hormones, and as a way to regulate our body temperature.

When our sweat glands release their poison it comes into contact with bacteria on our skin. Every single person has all sorts of different types of bacteria covering their body. This bacteria breaks down the protein and fatty acids that are found in sweat, and that is what causes smelly body odor.

Generally speaking sweat alone, in and of itself, doesn’t smell all that bad. It’s only when it gets broken down by bacteria does it begin to stink.

Most people reach for a stick of deodorant or antiperspirant to combat the unpleasant smells, but those products tend to mask the problem rather than actually help to eliminate it. There are some effective, alternative things that you can do to cut down on the root of the problem, i.e. bacteria causing sweat. They are covered below:

1) Skip Shaving- It seems counter-intuitive, but shaving underarm hair with a razor causes skin irritation. The lotions and creams often used in conjunction with a razor can further irritate sensitive underarm skin and that allows bacteria to grow even more, thus leading to a smellier armpit.

2) Tea Tree Oil- Tea tree oil contains anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties. When you apply it to your armpits the oil naturally works to kill bacteria. Plus, it smells good in and of itself.

3) Lime- The citric acid found in limes is naturally antimicrobial and can kill up to 99% of bacteria it comes into contact with. Rub a little lime juice under your arms and you’ll smell fresh and wonderful.

4) Baking Soda- People often place a box of baking soda in the fridge to eliminate funky food smells in there, but you can also use it on underarms. The powder keeps you dry, naturally deodorizes, and is strong enough to last all day long.

5) Use Natural Soap- Natural soaps, such as castile and goats milk varieties, work well at killing odor causing bacteria. By simply washing and cleaning your underarms regularly with a bar of the stuff you’ll smell better.

6) Hydrogen Peroxide- Many people use hydrogen peroxide to clean out minor scrapes, cuts, and burns, but you can also use it to kill underarm bacteria and the odors it causes.

7) Apple Cider Vinegar- When you combine apple cider vinegar with a squeeze of lemon juice and apply it to your underarms you are effectively killing the odor causing bacteria in that area. Just make sure you wash the mixture off your skin with warm water afterwards, and you’ll be lemony fresh.
