Spring and Summer are finally here, and whether you actually do the gardening yourself, or just revel in the beauty of a healthy garden, this tip is for you!  When you throw your egg shells into the the trash, you are wasting a potentially powerful tool for a healthy garden.

As you will hear in the short video you are about to watch, egg shells contain one of the richest sources of calcium.  He will show you how to harness the 39.15% calcium found in egg shells so that it can be used not only to enrich your garden soil, but prevent blossom end rot.

Plants prone to this rot, such as tomatoes, end up being much more prolific when the calcium-rich egg shells are added  to the soil.  You will hear how the mineral fights the rot of blossoming plants in a most fascinating way.  Now, you may be wondering if you just throw the eggshells into the soil, or is something more required?

Store your egg shells until you are ready to use them.  To prevent any type of bacteria, he will tell you how to easily clean them, and then blend them into a fine powder that gets sprinkled into your garden soil.  These simple steps will help to ensure a season of healthy blossoms like you’ve never experienced before.

This quick tutorial is a real find for everyone who loves a beautiful and healthy garden.

Repairman Discovers Something Terrifying In The Basement Of THIS Ice Cream Shop. He Immediately Calls The Police!

image via – youtube.com

When you visit an ice cream parlor, you’re likely in a great mood and simply looking forward to eating delicious, creamy, ice cold treats. People who step into the shops often have smiles on their faces and children love nothing more than getting a tasty cone or milkshake. While ice cream parlors are certainly happy, upbeat places, just like anywhere else, they can quickly become the opposite of that.

When one repairman was called to Schleckeria, an ice cream shop in Vienna, Austria, it seemed like a normal, run of the mill job. The pipes had burst in the basement and after inspecting the damage it was determined that they needed to be replaced. The 30 year old owner, Estibaliz Carranza, knew that the parlor needed major renovations as it hadn’t been updated since it was founded some 50 years earlier. She gave the repairmen the go-ahead and they went to work digging up the pipes in the basement floor.

Before the men had even started digging, they had noticed that there were uneven patches of concrete on the floor. It was odd enough for them to note, but not completely unheard of, so they forged ahead. When one of the men’s shovels hit something metallic in the ground, they knew something was wrong. They ended up digging up an old freezer and when they opened it, they found something horrifying; it was filled with two bodies.

The repairmen immediately called the police who launched a murder investigation which didn’t last long. The shop owner, Estibaliz, had fled to Italy where she was captured and sent back to Austria to face charges for the crime. Once in custody, she confessed to taking the lives of her ex-husband and ex-boyfriend, it was also discovered that she was 3 months pregnant.

The news dubbed her “Ice Lady” for how cold blooded and cold hearted the crimes were, and the freezer-ice cream parlor connection. When asked why she took the lives of the two men, Estibaliz claimed one was lazy and the other was cheating on her, but she also told of how she planned them out and it was clear that she was highly dangerous. She ended up being sentenced to life in a mental hospital where she remains to this day.

She Grabs Scissors And Starts Cutting 3 Worn Out Bath Towels Then Reveals An AWESOME Surprise!

image via – youtube.com

There comes a time in life when old and worn out bathroom towels need to be replaced. They usually get kind of ratty looking, sometimes the edges fray, and they just don’t feel as comfy as they used to. Once towels have served their purpose most people toss them out or give them away to second hand stores.

Instead of doing either of those two things, put them to further good use and recycle them into a new spiral rug. This crafty project from the HGTV Handmade channel on YouTube is very easy to accomplish and shows you an environmentally friendly way to reuse any old bathroom towels you may have on hand.

All you need is 3 bath towels, a pair of scissors, sewing needle, and thread. In the video tutorial Linda Facci guides us through the steps and while she chose to make a rug out of green, yellow, and orange towels, any color and combination will work.

She first folds each towel in half and then cuts them up into one inch wide strips. A medium sized rug like the one she is making requires about 13 strips but you can add more or less to make a larger or smaller version of it.

Once all the towels have been cut, take three strips and sew their ends together. Then start braiding them into a cord all the way to the end, folding the raw edges of the strips as you go to make the braid appear neater looking.

Next, take three more towel strips and sew the ends of them onto the end of the piece you just braided. If you’re using different colors and want a more uniform look, try arranging the strips so they match what you just made.

Repeat this process until you have one long braided strip of towel. At this point you’re ready to make it into a rug. Take one end of the braided strip and start coiling it around in a circular fashion. Sew the very center part together and continue sewing all of the coils together as you move outwards and add new layers.

It doesn’t even matter if you’re not great at sewing because you won’t end up seeing the thread, just make sure you pass the needle through the layers so that they’ll end up staying well connected. Once you reach the very end of the braided piece sew the three ends of the strip both together and to the outermost coil as well. Flip it over and you’re done!

These up-cycled and colorful towel rugs are perfect for in the bathroom or anywhere in your house where you may want to protect floor or need it. They easily absorb a lot of water and moisture and can keep floors safe and dry when you step out of the shower or trudge in from outside.

Plus, if it gets all dirty and trampled on it won’t even matter since it’s recycled and virtually cost free. Try making one the next time you replace your bath towels and help cut down on waste!

THIS Is The Unexpected Secret Meaning of That Black Diamond On Your Measuring Tape!

image via – youtube.com

There are all sorts of tools, gadgets, and other things that we use everyday without really thinking about.  They’re easy to overlook and take for granted, but without them life would be a whole lot harder. While most of us assume that we know all that there is to know about the most common everyday household items we use, there are likely a few hidden tricks and secrets that you don’t even know about.

Anyone who likes to enjoy a nice glass of wine or champagne has probably noticed how there is an indent on the bottom of the bottle.  It’s not there so producers can give you less wine, the dip is actually there to make the bottle stronger for high pressure beverages and stand evenly.

If you’ve ever bought a clothing item and found that it came with an extra swath of fabric, you likely assumed it was for patching up a small hole.  While that could be a use for it, the real reason for the extra little piece is for washing before you wash the clothes. That way you can tell if it is colorfast or likely to shrink.

Those winter hats with pom poms on the top were not originally meant to be decorative as they are today.  The Scandinavians originally used them in order to gather the seams in the hat back neatly, way before knitting winter hats became more common like it is today.

Every time you pop something in the microwave you pass by the black grading that covers the front window.  All microwaves must have this important safety feature that’s called a Faraday shield. It protects you by preventing harmful electromagnetic fields from leaving the inside of the microwave while it is turned on.

Most homes have standard walls featuring six studs that are spaced sixteen inches apart.  The black squares on measuring tapes are spaced sixteen inches apart in order to help you better find and mark the studs.  In addition to the black squares, tape measures also feature black diamonds (sometimes they are triangles) which are spaced 19.2 inches apart and they are there for truss layouts of 8-foot sheet goods.

These are just a few of the many other interesting facts and features covered in the video about everyday household objects you may not know about.  Be sure to check it out for more and maybe you’ll learn something new!

He Just Got Back To His House From Work. But His Grieving Dog Quickly Led Him To a Stranger Hiding Inside!

image via – youtube.com

Most people think that dogs and cats are constantly at war with one another for world domination. While this is true most of the time, sometimes felines and canines rise above their hate for one another and develop beautiful and amazing friendships. When a dog and cat are best friends it truly is an amazing thing to witness and something we as a people could learn a lesson from. If these two species can put their differences aside so can we!

This brings us to today’s featured story which features a man who had a cat and 2 dogs who were best of friends for many years. One of the dogs Crosby was especially close to both his older dog brother and kitty best friend. They did everything together until one sad day the cat passed away and traveled across the rainbow bridge.

After the cat passed away the Crosby became very depressed and was clearly grieving the loss of his best friend. Luckily for him he still had his older brother dog who was there for support. Also he still had his human which he loved very much.

Sadly his older dog brother also passed on only a couple months later! Now Crosby had just lost his 2 best friends in the whole world in a very short period of time. Crosby tried to stay chipper, wag his tale and be a good dog but he was very depressed. His pain and sadness was visible and palpable and his human who was his only friend left in the world had to leave him alone while he was at work.

One afternoon the man got back home from work and Crosby was acting pretty strange. It seemed like the pup was trying to show his human something and lead him somewhere or to something in the house. The dog led him to the bathroom where someone was hiding in the bath tub…

This Guy Was Taking A Pee On These Mountains. Then Accidentally Uncovered an UNTHINKABLE Surprise!

image via – youtube.com

When you have to use the bathroom, it’s always best to take care of business and go as soon as possible.  It’s the most comfortable thing you can do and also good for your health. When Clifford Coulthard, an elder member of the indigenous Adnyamathanha people, was out surveying in a remote area of Australia, he suddenly felt the urge to go.

Being that he was in the middle of nowhere, he simply found a little area where he could relieve himself in private. Little did he know that he was about to stumble onto something amazing that would end up changing Australian history forever.

Clifford had been surveying a mountainous interior region in southern Australia called the Flinders Ranges along with Giles Hamm, an archaeologist.  They’d been driving along a rough, dusty road and had pulled over so Clifford could use the bathroom. He walked off and up a creek bed into a gorge where he spotted a natural spring which was surrounded by ancient rock art.

Amazed, he called Hamm over and after looking around they saw a cave set in a cliff some 65 feet above the creek. The smoke blackened roof of the cave is what initially drew their attention and they immediately recognized it as being caused by human activity.  Today the cave is known as Warratyi, and it’s one of the most important discoveries in Australian pre-history.

At first Hamm assumed that the cave had been used by humans for maybe 5,000 years or so.  When he returned to excavate it alongside local Adnyamathanha people between 2011 and 2014, he was looking for artifacts and to properly date the site.

They dug three foot holes and trenches and carefully sifted through the dirt. By the time they finished the painstaking work, they had recovered about 4,300 artifacts including bone needles, stone tools and emu eggs.  They also found 200 pieces of bone from 16 different animals and one reptile.

From these findings, researchers were able to date the site.  They used carbon dating on organic materials and to determine the age of quartz particles they measured luminescence.

When the results came back everyone was astounded, they showed that the cave had been used by humans 49,000 years ago! In comparison, all other evidence found in Australia’s interior only dated back about 38,000 years ago, so this new finding was over 10,000 years earlier!

There were other implications that the site had on the understanding of early Australian history.  Prior to the discovery, researchers believed that the first humans arrived on the northern coast of Australia 50,000 years ago.

They assumed that these people stayed primarily on the coast and didn’t venture into the rugged interior until thousands of years later.  However, the cave and artifacts showed that they had actually gone into the interior much earlier than that and it must have been shortly after they arrived.

As for the bone needles and other tools found, they implicated that the early Australians had mastered technologies sooner than thought.

Hafted axes were dated and found to be 38,000 years old while stone tools with wooden handles were 24,000 years old and the bone needles were 40,000 years old.  All of these ages preceded any previously known dates and so early Australians were far more advanced than anyone had assumed.

None of these things would have been discovered if not for Clifford having to go to the bathroom on that fateful day back in 2011.  He ended up making one of the most important discoveries in Australian history and now has one heck of a story to tell!

This Woman Pours Baking Soda Onto Her Entire Mattress The Reason Is The Best Life Hack Ever!

image via – youtube.com

On average, we spend around one third of our lives in bed and every single night we perspire out about ½ a pint of sweat. That’s a lot of sweat, especially considering that we replace our mattresses only after having slept on it for hundreds, if not thousands, of nights in a row.

On top of the sweat and dust that mattresses pick up there’s also dirt, food crumbs, other spills, blood, soil, and who knows what that accumulates on our beds. People rarely clean their mattress, if at all, and it’s clear to see why; they’re hard to clean! You can’t stick it in the washer and where would you even begin?

Thankfully Melissa Maker, of the YouTube channel Clean My Space, posted a video explaining how to clean and maintain a mattress so that it will stay fresh and comfortable for longer than ever. She covers a lot of insightful tricks and information, and here are a few of her best tips:

Vacuum Your Mattress- This removes a lot of the dead skin cells, dust, and other stuff that accumulates over time on your mattress. She recommends vacuuming every time that you rotate it and stresses that you use a clean upholstery attachment. If you don’t use a clean one, you run the risk of spreading even more dirt and crud onto your bed.

Deodorize Your Mattress- Make it smell fresh again with the odor neutralizing power of wonderfully affordable baking soda. All you have to do is sift some baking soda all over the top of the mattress and allow it to sit. After about 30 minutes vacuum it up with a clean upholstery attachment.

Stain Fighting- According to Melissa, stains come in 3 varieties which include protein, grease, and tannin. The protein type is the most common one you’re likely to encounter and blood, sweat, vomit, and urine all fall under this category.

The best way combat these types of stains is by cleaning them ASAP before they have time to really set in. Liquid stains should always be blotted up with a cool damp cloth. Never scrub or use warm/hot water because that sets it and will only make it worse.

DIY Cleaning Solutions- If you’re dealing with a fresh stain it can be treated with a mixture of equal parts salt, baking soda, and water. Mix this into a paste, apply it directly onto the stain, and brush it off 30 minutes later.

Then, using a cool damp cloth, wipe away any excess mixture that may still be on the mattress and allow it to fully dry. If that doesn’t work quite as well as you’d like, try this stronger cleaning mixture of 2 parts hydrogen peroxide combined with one part dish soap.

Place a very small amount of this solution on the stain and softly brush it in with a clean toothbrush. After about 5 minutes you can wipe it off with a cool damp cloth.

Keep Your Mattress Dry- In general, aim to keep all liquids off your bed. A key factor in both cleaning and maintaining a mattress is to always make sure that it’s completely dry before using or sleeping on it. If and when you need to clean it or it does get wet, use fans to help it dry faster.

If you fail to allow it completely dry you risk ending up with mold or other nasty things growing on it, so take the time to allow it to dry!

Flip Your Mattress- This should be done every season or at least twice a year. Also, rotate it around so that you are not always sleeping on one part of the mattress. Rotating helps the mattress stay even all around, especially if you and/or your partner tend to sleep on certain sides and do not weigh the same.

Now you know how to clean a mattress and hopefully you can put some of this information and these awesome tips to good use. Try them today and be rewarded with a better night’s sleep!

Let us know how the life hacks work for you! Enjoy!

Angry Landlord Gathers Giant Mess Left Behind By Disgusting Tenants and Proceeds To Get The Last Laugh!

image via – youtube.com

If you’ve ever rented an apartment or house to someone else, you know that you’re always taking a risk. Even if you do a full background and credit check, and everything seems to be okay, you can never truly know how a new tenant is going to act. Will they pay the rent on time, be respectful of the space, and keep it nice and clean? These are the questions that inevitably run through every landlord’s mind.

Which is why when French landlord Thomas Ravaux from Rozoy-sur-Serre in Aisne, France, met a nice couple with three well behaved children, he felt comfortable entering into an agreement with them. There was nothing off-putting or shady about them and since they had passed all the relevant security and financial checks, he signed the lease. Before they moved in he checked over the apartment, re-painted the walls a crisp white, and buffed the wood floors until they gleamed. When moving day came, he watched them stack boxes of their stuff neatly inside then handed them the key and left.

When the new tenants missed their first month’s rental payment, Thomas didn’t think much of it. He assumed they simply forgot and would catch up. After several months passed by with still no payment coming in, he started to worry and called up his bank thinking perhaps there was an issue. After being told that no money had ever been submitted from his tenants, he grew worried and tried to call them. Every time he phoned it just rang and rang, no one ever answered, and he knew they must be avoiding him.

After fourteen months went by, Thomas had finally had enough. He went over to the apartment and entered it after no one answered his knocks. The first thing he noticed was the terrible stench which was inescapable, it smelled like rotten food, sewage, and garbage. As he stepped inside, he was met with a horrendous sight, the house was completely trashed. There was broken furniture and children’s toys all over the place, dishes had been haphazardly piled wherever they could fit, and heaps of dirty clothes made it hard to walk. The walls he’d painted had been ruined with holes punched through the drywall, the floor he polished was littered with dog poop, and the place looked ruined.

As he stood in the midst of the stinky mess his tenants had made, Thomas began to form a plan on how to right this terrible wrong. He checked with the neighbors who told him that the apartment had been empty for weeks and then called his lawyer who heard what he planned on doing and okayed it. His next move was tacking down the tenants and since they were listed publicly in the directory, he was able to obtain their new address. With logistics falling into place, he called in a clean-up crew.

When the men he’d hired arrived with a dump truck he told them to load it up. After they saw how the apartment had been left, they were just as disgusted at the smelly mess as Thomas was. He told them about what he had planned and after hearing about it they were more than happy to help. After they had piled every single thing the tenants had left behind, from the trash and broken furniture to the dirty dishes and dog poop, they drove straight over to the old tenant new rental address with Thomas following close behind.

Once they got there they backed up to the new place, raised the bed of the truck, and dumped all of the dirty tenants’ belongings right onto the driveway of their new rental. People in the area stopped and stared at what was happening and before long the local news caught wind and did a story on it. Most people applauded Thomas for what he did, but a few were concerned, and to those he explained that he was simply returning all of the property that had been left behind by his rude tenants.
