Fishermen On This Boat Spotted What They Thought Was a Seal But They Approached It and Got a Closer Look!

image via – youtube.com
When a group of crab fishermen set out in their boat one summer day, they never could have imagined what they’d end up catching. It all started early on a June morning when the crew, Mallory Harrigan, Cliff Russell, and Alan Russell, were cruising off the coast of Labrador, Canada. Due to an unusually large amount of sea ice, they’d been unable to set out any earlier and were running a little later than expected. Despite the delay, it was business as usual and they busied themselves setting up all the fishing gear for the day ahead.
They had set a course for a small town on the coast of Newfoundland and Labrador called Pincent’s Arm where they planned to fuel up their boat, The Northern Swan. It was while they were enroute to their destination that they spotted something strange up ahead on a mushroom shaped piece of ice that was floating in the middle of the ocean.
Being four miles out from the nearest shore, they assumed it must be a seal at first. However, they noticed that a bunch of seagulls were circling the animal and if it was a seal it would have slipped back into the water to avoid the pesky birds. They motored closer to get a better look and soon realized that they were actually looking at an arctic fox that had become stranded on the small piece of ice! He must have been looking for food when the ice broke apart and ended up floating out to sea before he could get back to land.
Knowing that it faced certain death if they didn’t get it off the melting iceberg, the crew decided to rescue the poor fox. Naturally they hesitated, being that the fox was essentially a cornered wild animal, it could potentially lash out at them. Even so, they decided to take the risk because they were his only hope for survival.
They first tried coaxing the fox onto the boat, but he was too timid and afraid to even get close to them. They soon realized that the only way to get him was to break the ice he was on so that he’d fall in the water and from there they could scoop him out with their dipnet. After they broke the ice, the fox tried to swim away but he was already exhausted and weak from not eating or sleeping, so the crew didn’t have to wait long before they were able to scoop him up and onto the boat.
As soon as the fox was safely on board he scurried over to a corner and curled up into a ball. The fishermen tried to feed him some crackers they had, but the fox wasn’t interested. Shortly afterwards they’d reached Pincent’s Arm where they set about making a bed for the fox out of sawdust and fish pans. Their goal was to get him warmed up and dry, and once the fox settled into his new bed, he fell asleep right away.
While the fox slept the group went about their business before heading home to William’s Harbor. Hours passed before the fox finally woke up and when he did, he was thirsty and hungry. He was also relatively tame; he must have sensed the people were only trying to help him.
After he ate a tin of Vienna sausages he perked right up. The fishermen monitored him and once they decided that he could go off and survive in the wild they released him. His new home was on a small island in the harbor which had been used to house sled dogs in the past. There were old dog homes he could use for shelter and plenty of small animals and birds for him to hunt. After they re-homed the fox, they said he ran off to explore and that they still see him every now and then chasing after his dinner!

Employees Kick THIS 92 Year Old Grandpa Out Of The Bank! But The Cops Bring Him Back To Finish The Job!

image via – youtube.com
When cops responded to a call about a man causing a disturbance at a local Bank of America branch, they didn’t quite know what to expect. They knew the man was very upset and had refused to leave the premises, but that was about it.
When the first responding officer at the scene, Robert Joss, stepped inside the bank he was surprised to see a 92 year old man at the counter arguing with the teller. He was angry and confused because he simply wanted to withdraw money from his account, but they wouldn’t allow him to do that.
It turned out that his identification card had expired and, in accordance with bank policy, they were unable to allow him to make any transactions. The man simply did not get that even though all his information on the ID was correct and the photo matched, he still couldn’t use it since it had expired.
Officer Joss asked the elderly man to accompany him outside and headed towards his patrol car. He opened the passenger side door and told the man to get in because they were going to the Department of Motor Vehicles to get him a new ID card. The man happily obliged and once they got to the DMV Officer Joss told the manager the story and expiration issue. The elderly man was then allowed to renew his ID right away so that he could get back to the bank as soon as possible and before it closed.
With his new ID in hand, Officer Joss brought the man back to Bank of America where he was finally able to take out money from his account. Afterwards, the two went their own way but all around town people had taken notice of the good deed. The Montebello Police Department soon caught wind of what their officer did and decided to share the story in a Facebook post on their page along with a picture of Officer Joss and the man at the DMV. It’s heartwarming and beautiful to see, so be sure to check out the video for the pic!

Guy Is Completely Stunned When His Driveway Suddenly Collapses But Then a Hidden Secret Room Is Revealed!

image via – youtube.com
When you own your own house, you have to fix any problems that pop up, especially ones that are of major immediate concern. A water pipe or heater breaking can’t be left for a rainy day and a huge gaping hole in your driveway should also be checked out asap. Such was the case for Simon Marks, a computer support worker from Luton, England.
He was simply backing out of driveway one Saturday afternoon when the front tire of his car suddenly became stuck on something. The whole thing lurched forward and when he got out to inspect what had happened, he immediately noticed that his driveway had a large hole in it. The strange gap had seemingly opened up out of nowhere and after freeing his car from it he had a closer look.
Upon inspection he noticed that the hole appeared to be quite large and deep, cavernous even. For a moment he thought perhaps it was a sinkhole that could possibly swallow up his house, but the closer he examined the hole, the more it looked like he’d stumbled upon something else entirely. Needing to know what really lay beneath his driveway, he began removing the cracked cement slab and dirt. What he found underneath was what appeared to be an old rusted ladder poking up from the mud.
Simon found it very odd that there would be a ladder in his driveway. He’d bought the house from an old couple who were the original owners and the property records showed it had been nothing but empty land before being built. Even still, there was definitely something underneath his driveway that the ladder was leading down into.
Simon had called his father Gerald to come over and when he arrived, the two of them got to digging. They soon both agreed on what Simon had most likely found; an air raid shelter from World War II. Slowly but steadily they removed bucket after bucket of mud from the hole and a room slowly emerged. Soon they were able to crouch in the space and that’s when they discovered that there was a door which led to another room!
After researching the bomb shelter, they realized that there had been quite a few built in the area. This one had likely been built after a German bomb had landed nearby and after a well preserved newspaper was found in the shelter, it seemed to confirm their hunch.
They later surmised that after the war the shelter had been filled in with dirt before the house was then built, with the driveway right over the doorway. When the hinges eventually rusted and crumbled away, the door fell into the shelter which weakened the concrete covering. The final straw was when Simon drove over it with his car and caused the concrete to collapse, leading to his awesome discovery.

Farmer Working His Land Discovers a 3,000 Year Old Hidden Mysterious Secret Lurking In a Hole Beneath His Farm!

image via – youtube.com
Many cool and unique things have been discovered by people working the land and improving their homes. In the 1980s loggers down in Georgia found a mummified dog 28 feet up in a hollow tree, while a man in Italy discovered a Franciscan chapel and artworks from the Knights Templar while fixing a leaky bathroom toilet pipe! It just goes to show that every day, mundane, seemingly ordinary tasks can turn into amazing and historically significant finds in the blink of an eye.
When a Greek olive farmer in Rousses, a tiny village in south Crete, went to park his vehicle on a hot sunny afternoon, he was looking for a nice shady spot. He pulled up to one of his olive trees and parked beneath it when the ground suddenly began to sink. Realizing what was happening, he quickly moved from the area and after driving off he noticed that a four foot wide hole had opened up right where he’d left.
Thinking that maybe a sinkhole had opened, he went back to investigate the sudden void in the earth. When he peered over the edge into the hole, he realized that he had quite possibly stumbled upon something extraordinary.
Approximately eight feet down in the hole he could make out some old pieces of pottery and that was enough for him to call in the experts. Archeologists from the ministry of antiquity arrived and set to work examining the carved out limestone cavern the farmer found. They determined that it was a tomb consisting of three compartments that had been carved out some 3400 years ago. A vertical shaft provided the only access and being buried so deep in the ground, the tomb had remained undisturbed and un-looted since it was originally sealed off by stone.
Inside the tomb was pair of coffins, each with an adult male skeleton inside. There were also fourteen ritual amphorae, a drinking cup, and an amphora krater, a two handled pot with a narrow neck and wide body. All the pottery was of high quality, which meant that the two men were likely wealthy. Based on these ceramics, the tomb was dated to the Late Minoan IIIA-B period, which was from about 1400-1200 BC. The Minoans were a Bronze Age civilization who came before the ancient Greeks. They lived on the island of Crete and had an immense, lasting impact on Greek life in the areas of art, architecture, the military, mythology, and much more.
Finding the two men buried in the sealed underground tomb under the olive tree settled a long standing debate on whether or not Minoans had settled in that particular area of Crete, which had previously been doubted. Now there was clear and convincing evidence that showed they had indeed.
