Teenager Disappears For Over 3 Years Then Shows Back Up At His House. But Things Aren’t How They Seem!

Every year thousands of children are reported missing to authorities across the country, but thankfully the vast majority of them are soon found safe and sound. For the few ongoing cases that remain unsolved, police and families work tirelessly to keep the investigation active and leads coming in. All they need is one clue to help break the case wide open and it can come at any time. When one young boy went missing in Texas, his family could have never imagined how it would play out. It’s a case that has stunned everyone involved and it really makes you wonder how could this have happened?
This past June 13, 2019 marked the 25th anniversary of the date that Nicholas Barclay went missing from San Antonio, Texas. He was just 13 years old when he went to play basketball with some friends near his house and afterwards he disappeared without a trace. His family did not report him missing at first because they thought he had run away and would soon be back. He had already run away from home several times before and had a troubled history of behavior. The police had been called to the house several times after he’d argued with his mother and he would also talk back to his teachers and skip school.
It got to the point where he had a sentencing hearing scheduled to see if he should be placed in a juvenile home, which he was vehemently opposed to. The night he disappeared was the day before the hearing, which was another reason why his family assumed he’d run off, to avoid going to court. By the time a missing person report was filed, and the police started searching, the trail had already gone cold. There were few clues to follow up on and no one seemed to have seen Nicholas.
Three years went by with no leads until one day authorities in Spain called and claimed they had found a boy who looked like Nicholas. They said he claimed to be 16 years old and had told them how he’d been kidnapped from America and trafficked to Europe before he finally managed to escape. Overjoyed that the long missing boy had finally been found, the Barclay family welcomed him back with open arms.
From the start the family noticed that the Nicholas they had known had changed a bit. However, they’d also been warned that he’d been through a lot and so when he seemed to act and look different than what they’d remembered, they didn’t really question it. His eyes and hair color were much darker than before, which he attributed to his captors having dyed and medically changed them in order to alter his appearance in a bid to conceal his identity. He also seemed to speak with a French accent, but he told them he was forbidden to speak English the whole time and had picked up his kidnapper’s accent. Not wanting to upset and question him too much after all he’d been through, the family let their suspicions slide and tried to get back to normal.
One man who couldn’t ignore the obvious differences was a private investigator named Charlie Parker. He didn’t buy the boy’s story and noticed that rather than being upset by what he claimed to have gone through, the boy was incredibly open about it all and retold his story to anyone who’d listen. He thought it was an imposter pretending to be Nicholas and after studying pictures of the two closely something finally jumped out at him and blew a hole in the boy’s story. The person claiming to be Nicholas did not have ears that looked anything like the missing boy’s ears.
A person’s ears are like their fingerprints, uniquely individual and unchanging with time. Since the ears did not match up, investigators, the Barclay family, and police finally knew the boy was lying and could not be Nicholas. It turned out that the boy was actually a 23 year old French man named Frederic Bourdin. He was a renowned con artist who’d been nicknamed “the Chameleon” by Interpol for posing as missing children and stealing hundreds of different identities. When Spanish police found him, they’d made an offhand remark about how he looked like the missing boy Nicholas Barclay, and from there he assumed the boy’s identity.
Naturally the Barclay family was stunned and heartbroken when they heard the news that they’d been lied to and that Nicholas was still missing. They had wanted to believe it was him so badly that they’d convinced themselves it was, despite the obvious differences. Due to all the strange twists and mysterious circumstances in the case, no one knows for sure who to believe or what really happened. For any mother or father losing a child is probably the most devasting and horrible thing someone can experience. The loss, pain and sadness is more than most can handle. It is truly something that no amount of time could ever heal.
Which brings us to today’s story which features a young boy named Nolan Scully and his mother. Nolan was terminally ill and his disease called Rhabdomyosarcoma was progressing rapidly. It is an extremely rare form of Cancer and the poor boy was diagnosed when he was a mere 3 years old. Life was quickly coming to an end for the young boy as he knew he was going to die and began to speak openly about it.
Nolan although, quickly detoriating showed so much courage, strength and bravery during his battle with this horrible disease. Even as he knew he was going to be leaving this earth, he faced it head on and fearlessly. Nolan only had one wish before he passed onto the other side.
He wanted to protect and serve his community and become a police officer. As he laid in the hospital, the chief of police came to visit him and swore the young lad in as he became Sargeant Roland Nolan! The fire departments also made him an honorary fire man as he laid on his death bed.
Nolan’s fighting spirit and attitude in the face of the worst possible adversity struck a nerve with so many people as his story went viral and his facebook page gained over 300,000 followers!

When it comes to pregnancy, sometimes everything can run smooth as silk, while other times the pregancy can be extremely difficult and every possible thing that could go wrong does! Whether it’s complications, post-partum depression, or just an overall difficult pregnancy, soon-to-be mother’s can sometimes have a complete nightmare of a pregnancy.
Today our story features pregnant and soon-to-be mom Shanice. In the first trimester everything seemed pretty normal and nothing was really out of the ordinary. By the time the second trimester came along, her stomach had ballooned out so big that her gut told her something just wasn’t right! The size of her stomach and the weight she was carrying was beginning to take a toll on her back as it couldn’t handle the unexpected weight gain.
She headed to her doctor to find out what the heck was actually going on! She got an ultrasound with the attending nurse and as it was in progress she asked the nurse if everything was alright. The nurse didn’t immediately respond and called for the doctor to come in and examine her. As he examined her he began to spot some strange things on the monitor.
Shanice was so nervous and scared and asked the good doctor what was going on and if there was a problem. He didn’t immediately answer as he was trying to figure out exactly what was going on. She would soon get news she would never expect!

THIS Catholic Nun Has Been Dead For Almost 150 Years! But Her Body Mysteriously Hasn’t Changed At All!

When Saint Bernadette had her first vision when she was only fourteen years old. She died young, aged 35, and when her body was exhumed over 30 years later it was found to be in near perfect condition. It has now 140 years since she passed, and her body is said to be still virtually unchanged by time. Her story made her into a saint and the shrine where she now rests has become a pilgrimage site, with millions of people having visited her.
St. Bernadette was born Marie Bernadette Souderis on January 7, 1844 in Lourdes, France. She was one of nine children and came from a very poor family. They lived in an underground room that had once been a jail which locals referred to as the dungeon. She was often sick, suffering through cholera when she was young and later on developing breathing problems which lasted the rest of her life. Her poor health is likely the reason why she only grew to be 4 foot 7inches tall and she was not able to attend school. She had a poor grasp on the French language and instead she spoke Occitan, a language native to the Pyrenees region where she grew up.
Life was hard for her and her family, they struggled to make ends meet. Oftentimes people would make fun of Bernadette for failing to memorize her religious studies, but she was strong and wouldn’t let the cruel taunts get to her. Instead, she’d respond that she would always know the love of god, which would shut them up and re-affirm her faith even more.
Bernadette had her first vision in February 1858 while out searching for firewood with her sister and a friend on a cold wet day. They had gone to a cave known as the old rock and while the other two girls crossed a nearby river, Bernadette had stayed behind to find a place to cross where she wouldn’t get wet. Having searched and not found such a place, she sat down to take her shoes and stockings off when she suddenly heard the sound of rushing wind, yet nothing moved. In the dark cave the figure of a woman suddenly appeared, it with lit in a bright white light and carrying a rosary. She prayed with the figure before it disappeared and went on to have a total of 18 of these visions.
When people found out about them, they believed she had seen the Virgin Mary. During one of her visions she said that the figure told her to drink the spring water from a nearby grotto as an act of penance. Locals were astonished when the next day the spring water flowed clear instead of muddy and soon people were flocking to the area because they believed that the waters held healing powers.
After word spread about Bernadette, her visions and the spring, she became the center of attention. She didn’t like all the exposure and to escape it she entered a Catholic convent where she lived a humble life before dying form tuberculosis in 1879.
Thirty years after her death in 1909 experts dug up her body to look for evidence as to why she had seen visions of the Virgin Mary. When they opened her coffin, they were amazed to find that her body was very well preserved despite having been buried for so long. According to doctors who examined her body at the time, there was no smell or visual signs of decay. Her hair and fingernails were intact and because of the state she was found in, they said she was incorrupt, or preserved from decomposition. In the Catholic church, this is of major significance because they believe that God allows for the remains of a religiously significant individual to avoid decomposition. Such a finding is a sign that the person was a saint, and it was cited as one of the miracles that led to her becoming recognized as such.
After being exhumed a second time in 1919, Bernadette was dug up a final third time in 1925 whereupon the church took imprints of her face and hand. They used them to make wax masks that were placed on her for the presentation of her body which was put in a gold and crystal reliquary. Today, she rests in the Chapel of Saint Bernadette in Nevers, France. Millions of people have made the pilgrimage to see her incredibly well preserved body and to visit the spring she had visions near, with some claiming to have been healed by the waters.

When a tree falls on your property it can be quite the job to take care and remove it. Depending on how it falls, where it falls and what kind of damage it causes can all be factors that need to be assessed before you begin the big process of getting rid of it. Unless you are a trained proffessional it is probably best to higher somebody who specializes in tree removal, because the process can not only be difficult and arduous, it can also be potentially dangerous if you don’t know what you are doing.
With that being said that brings us to today’s remarkable story featuring a Vet Tech named Alan Firstly From Lewisville, Texas. One afternoon he was home from work, when one of those huge thunder and lightning storms came roaring through. The storm came in fast and strong, with lightning, thunder, powerful wind gusts and torrential rain. Alan was sitting in his house safe when he heard what sounded like an explosion and then a loud crashing sound. He decided to stay inside until after the storm had past, then he would go out and see what the heck happened and he prayed that whatever it was didn’t cause too much damage.
When the storm finally passed Alan walked outside and saw the giant tree in his front yard had fallen and had been completely taken out by the powerful storm. There was a decent amount of damage to his property and a big clean up job would need to be done. As he examined the fallen tree and his property to try and figure out how he was going to handle this situation he noticed something moving close to the fallen tree. He approached it, looked down and saw the tiniest, itty bitty and adorable baby squirrel all on its own with no mom or dad squirrel around.
Alan being a Vet Tech, was obviously a big animal lover and his focus quickly drifted from the fallen tree to this baby squirrel. Before he did anything to try and intervene, he waited around for a while to see if the baby squirrel’s mother would return to pick up her baby and bring it to safety. After a long wait and no mom in sight, he thought maybe she had been killed when the tree fell and now this baby would have no chance of survival because it wasn’t old enough or big enough to survive on its own in the wild.
Alan decided to gently pick the baby up, and brought it inside his home. Although he was very familiar with most animals because he was a vet tech he really wasn’t sure what the best course of action would be for this particular situation, so he did what anyone else would do…. He got on his computer and asked google. From the information he gathered on the internet he realized that the squirrel was probably less than 7 days old. It was so young that it’s adorable little squirrel eyes hadn’t even opened yet.
So now, he realized he was going to be completely responsible for the life of this little baby and for better or worse was basically the squirrel’s new dad. Luckily because Alan was a vet tech he had the perfect place to bring the squirrel to, the veterinarians office! After discussing the squirrel situation with some of his colleagues, they realized that this baby squirrel would need 24/7 until it was big, healthy and strong enough to be re-released back into the wild.
Luckily for him the other Vet Techs he worked with, were more than happy to help out taking turns caring for and watching the squirrel. It needed to be fed by hand with a bottle because it was far too young to eat on its own. They would take turns bringing the baby to their houses to watch the lil’ guy over night, then in the morning they would bring him back to work.
Alan quickly began to love this adorable baby and became super attached to the squirrel. Before he knew it he had to ask for time off from work to take care of his new little friend. The best part about the situation for Alan is that he was completely surrounded by animal lovers that dedicated their entire lives to try and take care of them. His boss wasn’t even annoyed that he asked for the time off and granted it to him knowing that he would be using these days off take care of the squirrel.
About a week later, the little furry creature finally opened his eyes and Alan was there for the exact moment it happened. The squirrel could finally see and the first thing he would ever see in his life would be his rescuers face. Once his eyes were opened, their human/animal soul connection was taken to the next love. He loved this squirrel and it looked as if the squirrel loved him back in return. His original plan was just nurse the baby until it was ready to go back into the wild. However, as time went on their friendship grew and Alan was finding it more and more difficult to have to return the squirrel back to Mother Nature.
He decided that because the squirrel, was brought up inside a house, its chances for survival would most likely slim to none. So Alan quickly made the decision to keep the squirrel and make him part of the family! He ended naming the baby squirrel Rocky and began training the young creature how to act responsibly and not cause damage to the interior of the house. This turned out to be much harder than it sounds…

Almost every part of our planet has been explored, at least the portion of it that is dry land. The 70% that lies underwater is another story. Experts say we’ve explored less than five percent of the world’s oceans and they undoubtedly hold many secrets that humans have yet to uncover.
Some of the strangest, most incredible phenomenon that take place in the ocean occurs near the surface and whirlpools are one such thing. Whirlpools are vortexes much like tornadoes in that they rotate, but instead of air they are composed of water and they have a downdraft as opposed to an updraft.
The swirling, swiftly twisting bodies of water are interesting to see from the safety of shore, but you would never want to get caught up in one. This is especially true for the Saltstraumen maelstrom, which is located right off the coast of Norway. It’s been around for at least the last 2,00 years and it happens to be the world’s strongest tidal whirlpool!
Tidal whirlpools occur when opposing currents collide. Every six hours approximately 110 billion gallons of water surges through the Saltstraumen straight, a narrow strip of water running from the Norwegian Sea to the Skjerstad Fjord. The water must pass between two cliffs that are just 150 meters apart and when the tide draining out hits the tide coming in, the maelstroms appear.
Just as tides are affected by the moon, the strength of the vortex at Saltstraumen depends on the phase of the moon. When a full moon rises, it appears in its most powerful and dangerous form. Some whirlpools measuring thirty three feet wide and 16 feet deep have been spotted here and the water reaches speeds of up to 25 miles per hour.
To get a better sense of how much water is colliding in the small area when the current comes in, the height difference between the sea level outside and the fjord inside can easily be 3 feet! This means that the whirlpools that form here produce enough power to easily suck a person or small boat into them and many fish get caught up in the current as well. The abundance of fish in the area is why it was settled long ago in the first place, but these days people come mainly to see the picturesque beauty of the area and of course, the maelstroms!

Cats are truly one of the most remarkable species of animal on planet earth. From the king of the jungle the lion to Garfield the house cat, their prowess, personality and just overall awesomeness is off the charts. Many cats have a distinct and unique style or swagger in how they carry themselves or their special strut/style of walk. I had one cat who whenever he walked into a room he would lead with his back legs! He had quite the ‘cat walk’ and was bursting with immense personality.
This brings us to today’s hilarious video. It takes place during a very serious fashion show featuring walkway models and high-end designers. The models are doing their thing, showing off all the new styles of the year, when all of a sudden an unexpected visitor takes center stage. A cat gets on the ‘cat walk’ and steals the entire show, with no practice, no effort just pure catness!
The visual is just so funny. Watching everybody take everything so seriously while this cat who clearly doesn’t give a damn, steps on stage and shines brighter than a diamond on a high end watch. She Rescued This Abandoned Dog But The Pup’s ‘Foul’ Smell Has Her Immediately Calling The Police!

Dogs are the most loyal, protective, and loving pets you can share your home with. They always are looking to please their owners and just want to be loved and cared for in return. While the majority of pet owners take care of their dogs, some are downright terrible and should never be allowed to have an animal ever again.
When Kelly Benzel was searching for a new dog, she knew that she wanted to adopt one. She was looking for a dog that could provide both her family and her other dog company and found the perfect one for sale on Facebook. In the photos posted of him, the white pit bull mix appeared sad and somewhat neglected. His owner was asking only $50 and knowing that she could give him a better life, Kelly decided to buy him.
When Kelly went to pick the dog up, she immediately noticed how dirty he looked. Clearly the owner she met had not bothered to ever bathe the poor thing. Even so, the dog who she had decided to name Rocco was sweet and loving from the moment she met him.
After they had left to go back to Kelly’s home, she noticed a terrible smell while in the car with Rocco. At first, she thought maybe she’d driven through a stinky area, but when the stench persisted, she knew something was wrong and pulled over. The foul odor was coming from Rocco, yet nothing jumped out at her as to why he smelled so bad.
As Kelly checked him over, she removed a harness that he had been wearing when she picked him up. It was on tight and as she went to undo it Rocco cried and moved away from her. Patting his head and reassuring him, she got the harness off and that’s when she saw what was making her new dog stink. He had a painful six inch gash on his chest that was over an inch and a half deep. The wound was clearly infected, and she knew she had to get Rocco to the vet as soon as possible.
She drove to the nearby Fond du Lac Veterinary Clinic where Rocco was given pain medication and antibiotics to help fight off the infection that had set in. Once it was gone, he would then need to have the gash sewn closed and for now all Kelly could do was clean him up and keep him comfortable. The vet checked Rocco over to make sure he was otherwise healthy and explained that the harness had cut into his body after being left on for so long without ever having been adjusted.
Upset and angry at Rocco’s situation, Kelly called the woman who had sold him to her and told her about the injury. The woman offered to pay for the treatment and kept trying to bribe Kelly, but she was having none of it and hung up. The woman had known all along about the infected cut but had done nothing to help the dog out. That’s when Kelly called the police to report the animal abuse and they immediately began to investigate.
In the end, Rocco made a full recovery from his wound. It took many trips to the vet and months to finally heal, but he came out of it stronger and more loving than ever. Rocco’s previous owners, Amy Shaw and Daniel Eisenach, were charged with the mistreatment of animals and fined $1500.
A judge sentenced Eisenach to 30 days in jail and 2 years of probation, while Shaw got 5 days in jail, 2 years of probation, and 30 days of community service. Neither are allowed to own or care for pets while on probation and while they did get punished more severely than most animal abusers, Kelly doesn’t think it was enough for the cruelty and pain they put Rocco through.
