THIS Guy Saved His Pennies For 45 Yrs. He Finally Cashes Them In and The Amount Is Unthinkable!

If you see a penny on the ground, do you ever bother to stop and pick it up? Most people never do, they just walk right by and continue on their way. The one cent value is not worth bending over for. Sometimes people may pick up a penny here or a penny there if they think it’s a “lucky” one, but they don’t stop for every stray coin they see. One man, Otha Anders, is one of the rare exceptions in this regard because he’s picked up every penny that he has ever come across for the last 45 years!
When the 77 year old man from Louisiana was asked what motivated him, he said that finding a penny on the ground was akin to a sign from God, reminding him that he should always be thankful. He added that while he strived to pray every day, sometimes he failed to do so and on the days that he would forget, he would often come across a lost penny. After he noticed the connection, Anders always made time to pray and be thankful.
Over the years Anders took his penny saving ways to even greater extremes. He worked at a school and when the children heard he saved pennies they started bringing him ones they had saved or found. He never just took the kids money, however, and instead he’d pay for them in cash and other coin denominations. He would also exchange nickels for pennies with a friend who was saving nickels the same way that he was saving pennies. In addition, he’d never pay for anything with exact change, instead he’d only use nickels, dimes, and quarters.
All that penny picking and praying certainly added up and when Anders finally decided to cash in, he had a whole lot of change on his hands. In fact, it took fifteen five-gallon plastic water jugs to contain the half a million pennies he’d collected in the past forty-five years. Since they weighed about 2,800 pounds, he needed a dolly to transport them all and when he walked into Ruston Origin Bank, in Ruston Louisiana, it was quite a scene. People had never seen so many pennies before!
The bank broke out all the automatic coin counting machines they had on hand and yet it still took staffers over 5 hours to count it all. When they were finally done, the grand total came out to $5,136! That’s a nice chunk of money and it goes to show just how lucrative pinching pennies can be.
Now that he has some extra pocket money Anders plans on putting it towards some upcoming dental work he needs to have done. And if you’re wondering what prompted him to finally cash in after 45 years of saving, it turns out that his homeowner’s insurance would not cover the pennies should they ever get stolen or destroyed in a fire. Something tells me that it would take a lot of hard work, muscle, and time to steal half a million pennies!

Lions are one of the world’s most powerful, majestic, and beautiful animals. The big cats are second in size only to tigers and can run up at speeds of up to 50 mph in short bursts. Besides having physical prowess, they are also highly social and intelligent animals.
They live in prides often consisting of several adult females, their cubs, and one or a few adult males. Each member has an important job to do, with the lionesses hunting and the male lions defending the pride and their territory.
That is the way lions have operated for thousands of years in the wild. These days that natural order has been interrupted and messed with by greedy people who wish to exploit lions for entertainment and money making schemes. Whether lions are forced to perform in circuses or used at petting zoos before being killed in canned hunts, when they’re forced into captivity, they suffer regardless of the reason why.
The lucky ones are saved by big cat rescue groups who do their best to rehabilitate the often abused, neglected, and malnourished lions that come into their care. One such place, Texas based In-Sync Exotics Wildlife Rescue and Education Center, ended up rescuing a beautiful light haired lioness named Sheila from her abusive owner. Because of her good looks, Sheila had been forced to take part in movie and photo shoots, perform tricks, and attend parties and events where people posed with her.
When Sheila fist arrived at her new home she was not in good shape. Years of forced labor, abuse, and living in a confined space all alone had left her weak and underweight. She could hardly stand up and refused to eat or drink, when she did eat, she’d usually throw it up. She was obviously depressed, but it seemed as if she wanted to die and had lost her will to live.
Sensing something else was wrong with her, the rescue center ran tests on Sheila and finally had an answer as to why she was so sick; she was suffering from toxoplasmosis. The diagnosis was grim, most cats die from the parasite, but vets decided to treat her anyways.
Shortly after her first treatment, Sheila showed marked signs of improvement. In fact, she was looking and acting so much happier and better that her caretakers wondered if perhaps her new friend could have something to do with her new lease on life.
As it turned out, a new male lion named Khan had been brought to live at In-Sync and he was housed right next door to Sheila. He had been abused by the same man who mistreated Sheila but was much livelier and feistier than her. The two got along great and seemed to really like each other so they were given time to play together.
It wasn’t long before Sheila and Khan recovered from their malnourishment and health problems. They were eventually moved into the same enclosure where they spend their days cuddling, grooming each other, and relaxing. As for their former owner, he lost his license which means he can no longer own or neglect lions.
Thanks to the volunteers and everyone at In-Sync who makes stories like this possible, Sheila and Khan get to have a happy ending!

Flight Attendant Notices The Words ‘Help Me’ Written In The Airplane Bathroom. She Immediately Tells Pilot To Call 911!

Sheila was a flight attendant on Alaska Airlines for many years. She was known for her positive attitude and a large smile. She always did her job well. Most of all she was very observant and caring. These two traits proved very helpful on one specific plane ride.
On a flight from Seattle to San Francisco, Sheila noticed something odd. In two seats were a girl and a man. The girl was young, maybe 14. She looked disheveled as her clothes were a mess and, on closer inspection, Sheila noticed what she thought might be bruises on her body. Next to her, the man had a much cleaner cut and was wearing expensive clothing. His demeanor was extremely stoic.
Sheila immediately sensed that something was off. She approached the two and attempted to speak to them but the man quickly shut down any conversation. Sheila had a gut feeling that something was very wrong but needed confirmation. She hurriedly wrote a note on a piece of paper, folded it up, and subtly waved it at the girl.
Once she saw that the girl had seen it she put it in the airplane bathroom with a pen. The girl asked the man she was with if she could go to the bathroom and said yes. She walked to the bathroom and soon after made it back to her seat.
Sheila rushed to the bathroom to check the note. On the front, Sheila had written “Are you ok?” and under it, the girl had responded with “I need help”. Sheila walked calmly to the front of the plane where she stepped into the cockpit and explained the situation to the pilot. He radioed ahead and police were summoned to meet the plane at the gate.
Once the plane landed, the man was arrested. Sheila had successfully saved a young girl from human trafficking. As the girl was escorted off the plane by police and paramedics, she turned and smiled at Sheila, the best way she could, in her traumatized state, signify her immense gratitude at being given a second lease at life.

‘Werewolf’ Is Seen Lurking On The Side of Road For Months. Finally Someone Confronts It and Spots The UNTHINKABLE!

Fear of the unknown paralyzes many people in all walks of life. We have all been alone at our house, hear a strange sound and become absolutely terrified by what most likely is nothing at all. Many people, mostly children, but even some adults have a fear of the dark. The ominous presence darkness and not being able to see what could potentially be in the room strikes fear in the heart of many. Fear can cause many people to freeze and not be able to be brave in the face of a dangerous situation. Also if people are scared of something they tend not to approach it and will pretend it isn’t there and ignore it.
This brings us to today’s story featuring ‘Werewolf’ a mysterious canine who showed up one day on the side of the road in Mandara Ranchos California. From afar the canine looked imposing, scary and freaky and many residents of the area were aware of his presence but nobody had the courage to approach him.
His hair stood straight up, he looked completely disheveled, he was hunched over in an odd position and people really didn’t know what to do. Weeks then months had passed and around the town he began being referred to as ‘Werewolf’ because the residents didn’t know what type of creature he was or that he was actually very sick, injured and needed immediate medical treatment or else he would soon die.
Finally after months and months of the dog being there. A brave woman approached and realized that yes this ‘mysterious creature’ was in fact a dog and it happened to be a German Shepherd mix who had been abandoned, beat up, had scabs, bruises, scabies, broken tail and mange which all led to his scary and unapproachable appearance. This human angel immediately sprang into action put him in her car and drove directly to a veterinarian hospital.
The poor dog who had been suffering horribly for months finally was getting the help he so desperately deserved. The vet did an exam and the dog was so lucky that it was brought in when it was because he wasn’t going to make it much longer outside.

Midnight a Beautiful Lab Mix followed her human Tim Cufman outside to git rid of the trash. Almost immediately her spidey senses began to tingle and she knew something wasn’t right! Before this day Midnight had not been much for security as a watch dog so Tim thought something really must’ve spooked Midnight and that there was something or someone out there who couldbe a potential threat to himand his family.
That night it just so happened to be during one of the ‘polar vortexes’ in Minnesota that year. The temperatures had dropped below 0 and being outside for a prolonged period of time could put you in grave danger. In fact, it was so cold in Minnesota that week that all public schools, public transportation, air travel. offices and even the postal office were closed until the dangerous freeze passed!
Tim had watched a report earlier that the freeze has already been fatal to 20 people. So his plan was just to get the trash to the bins and run back into his warm and cozy home. The problem was Midnight was going wild and was trying to get her human to follow him so he could see what it was. Eventually after Midnight wouldn’t give up, Tim decided to follow her outside to see if something was really lurking.
Little did Tim know, there wasn’t a threat out there, but he was actually going to save a person’s life!

These Grandmas Try Fireball Whisky For The First Time Ever. Their Reactions Are Hilarious!

Fireball whiskey, popularly known as simply Fireball, is a Canadian based whiskey that is strongly flavored with cinnamon. The aromatic spice has long been used as a seasoning and flavor additive for foods and drinks, even the Romans added cinnamon to bitter wines to make them taste better.
Today it’s widely used in brandy, vodka, beer, tequila, and just about every other type of spirit out there, in large part because of Fireball’s immense success. A major factor as to why Fireball has fast become one of the most successful brands in the liquor industry is because it appeals to a wide variety of people all over the world.
Everyone from college students to deep sea fishermen to country rock stars are knocking back the potent spirit. Even granny’s are giving it a try and in this video you can see exactly how a couple of them react to trying Fireball whiskey for the first time!
The clip starts off with four women who were asked about how often they drink and what their preferred beverage of choice is. All of the women said that while they don’t drink excessively or party as hard as they used to, they do enjoy a drink or a nice glass of wine here and there.
The drinks they cited as their favorites included vodka martinis, vodka tonics, scotch and water, Malbec and Zinfandel wines, but not one mentioned whiskey. Then the taste test began. Before their lips touched the whiskey they checked out what they were getting themselves into and read the label out loud.
The words on the bottle, “Tastes like heaven, burns like hell,” didn’t seem to throw them off and so they each poured out a shot. What came next was the smell test. While one grandma couldn’t quite smell it, the others noted the distinct spicy, cinnamon aroma wafting up at them.
With that out of the way, it was time for the taste test. After knocking glasses and saying a quick cheers they sipped at the whiskey and weighed in on what they thought of it. The women’s reactions were generally all positive and some were hilarious.
The first lady to take a sip remarked “not bad” but then immediately afterwards she coughed and said “it is hot…very fiery, cinnamon…it kinda tastes like a medicine type thing, like a cinnamon hot medicine going down.” The next woman gingerly took a sip and said “my god…that’ll warm my belly, that’s for sure…gosh, whoo!
Actually, it tastes very nice.” One of the grandmas was a little scared to try it but when she did she was pleasantly surprised, saying “it’s actually good.” The last woman to try it swished it back and forth in her mouth while rolling her eyes around in her head before finally saying “Whew a merci, aye aye aye, that is my thing, impressive!”
She loved it and by the end of the video she was pouring herself another shot because she wanted more. All in all, the women were quite observant in conducting the taste test and their responses were hilarious. They proved that grandma’s everywhere can get down with what the kids are drinking these days and it’s more than likely that some of them could out-drink the youth as well!

In the case of this optical illusion cake, that Ayarel has come up with, it is not only totally delicious, but she has ingeniously created a mind-blowing way for the cake to change colors! Using two different techniques, she illustrates how this illusion can be done, even by those of us less talented than she is.
The tutorial begins with an iced cake, upon which Ayarel creates a swirling pattern of ridges with an “icing comb”. With an airbrush she shows us how to apply different colors at certain angles, so that that each color only hits one side of the ridges she has made.
She goes through the steps slowly, so that if you are an adventurous baker you can give it a try, and the end of the tutorial is a sped up version. The secret to the illusion will be revealed, and the result is mesmerizing!

Weird Dog Shows Up On The Trail As This Couple Hikes! Then They Notice The Words Written On His Collar!

One of the things that dogs love most in the world is going for a walk. They like being outdoors with their human companions and the change of scenery it provides. They also usually need to burn off some energy and a brisk walk to the local park or around the block is the perfect way to tire them out. Plus, many dogs are not allowed to roam freely, so they look forward to their daily walks and get upset if they miss one.
For one dog living near Teneriffe Falls in Washington state, he gets the best of both worlds, and then some. The big black dog is named Smokey and he is allowed outside to roam as he pleases. Since he lives so close to the popular hiking spot, he often heads over to the trail head to wait for people to come along and then joins them on their hike. He basically takes himself for walks whenever he wants, and he does it so often that his owners made a special tag for him!
Recently a young couple went for a hike and spotted Smokey gingerly coming towards him as they set off. The friendly animal walked right up to them and then alongside as they started down the trail. After going a couple hundred yards they realized Smokey was tagging along which was fine by them. In fact, the unexpected guest was delightful and very well mannered. He stopped whenever they did and waited patiently as they snapped pictures, he clearly knew the drill.
Once they reached the falls the couple started to worry that maybe the big black dog was lost, and they didn’t want to just leave him in the wilderness after their hike. Seeing that he had tags on, the man, Scott Brown, reached down to check them.
One side of the faded blue bone shaped tag said “Hi, I’m Smokey. I live nearby so please don’t take me. I like to follow hikers sometimes.” The flip side read “Don’t worry, I’ll go home when I get tired. My people love me a lot. Thanks for being nice!”
Upon reading Smokey’s tag the couple laughed with relief. The sweet dog was simply out on one of his walks and they needn’t worry about him because his loving family was waiting for him to come home when he was ready.
With Smokey leading the way they returned to the parking lot near where they first saw him. He waited patiently as they changed out of their hiking gear and prepared to go home before barking once, turning, and heading back to his home.
The couple was thankful that Smokey had joined them and felt he’d made their hike all the more memorable. It seems the fluffy black dog made a lasting impression on them and that’s just one reason why dogs are so awesome.
