With advancements in modern technology multiplying, it is now incredibly convenient to find out personal information about your genetics. Recently, many people have purchased DNA kits either from the drug store or from services like Ancestry.com. These DNA kits can tell you many things such as family history, hereditary traits, and genetics odds of inheriting different diseases among others. One man thought these kits would be perfect for gifts for his family.
James saw a holiday deal on Ancestry DNA and decided to purchase a kit for each member of his immediate family. James wrapped each kit and brought them to the house where they were celebrating Christmas. Finally, the big day came. The family all gathered around the living room Christmas morning. It was time to open presents.
After several delightful gift exchanges, it was James’ turn. He passed around the boxes and everyone began unwrapping. Then, he got an unexpected reaction. His mom gasped and dropped the box. She then began attempting to convince the family not to do the kits. Finally, she stormed out of the room to the second floor, her husband following in her wake. The whole family waited in tense silence as they heard yelling from upstairs.
Finally, James’ parents came downstairs. They seemed calmer as if they had come to some kind of consensus. His mom explained that her sons and daughters were actually from two different fathers. She had a previous husband who had died before the family had known him.
He had fathered the sisters in the family. Then, James’ mom found her present husband who had then fathered the sons of the family. It turned out Christmas wasn’t ruined at all. The family had a long conversation about their history and got even closer as a result.

96 Year Old Lady Finally Decides To Sell Her Home. But Wait Til’ You See What It Looks Like Inside!

When the house at 148 Jane Street went on the market for sale in Toronto, Ontario, several people were extremely excited about it. They had heard rumors through the years that the house was a rare gem, but that’s all they had to go off of.
The home had been kept in the same family for generations and not many of the people who had ever been inside of it were still around. Over time the place had taken on a strange life of its own and so no one really knew what was true about it.
Sisters Gladys and Carla Spizzirri had heard about the house and had always been fascinated with it. They also happened to be real estate agents, so when they received a phone call from an older sounding woman who wished to sell the property, they immediately jumped at the opportunity.
The woman on the other end was a 96 year old named Joyce who was hesitant about putting her home up for sale. She had lived there for over 70 years and ever since she first moved in back in the 1940s, she’d always been a very private person. Her home was located in a prime area and based on that alone Gladys and Carla knew it’d sell for a lot.
However, something in Joyce’s voice told them that she was hesitant and holding something back. Maybe the house had serious issues or some type of problem that she was trying to hide. As long time real estate agents, they’d seen it all and usually when a potential seller was holding back and not wanting to let go, they turned out to be hoarders.
When the day finally came for them to check out 148 Jane Street, the women more than ready to see what was behind the front door. They pulled up to the nondescript brick house and when they stepped inside their mouths dropped in awe.
The place was not the jumbled mess of a hoarder, rather it was in pristine condition and looked like a home straight out of the 1940s. All of the floors, walls, fixings, furniture, and décor harkened back to that era and it was beautiful.
Joyce had stuck to a very feminine color palette of pinks, purples, and lighter shades of blue. There was also a lot of floral prints scattered throughout, such a décor scheme would probably throw off most male buyers, but women would definitely be drawn to the home.
There was one room that was markedly different than the rest, it was the basement which had been Joyce’s late husband’s hang out spot. It was covered in wood paneling, there was a wet bar and it looked straight out of a Mad Men episode.
In the end, the inspection far exceeded the sister’s expectations. They loved that it was so well maintained and the complete package. While it did need some updates and exterior changes, they were mostly minor and could be easily done.
They decided on a listing price of $699,000 and Joyce gave them the go-ahead to sell it. She was ready to let go and looking for a smaller place. Check out the video to see what it looked like inside and if you would want to live there!

Baby Began Acting Very Weird. But Then Their Hidden Baby Cam Captured THIS Nanny Doing the UNTHINKABLE!

When becoming a parent for the first time there is just no way to know what you are getting yourself into until you do it. Yes it’s true no baby is exactly the same and you always have to be ready for the most unexpected. It doesn’t matter how many parenting books you have read, classes you’ve gone to, or even words of wisdom from friends and family who have already had children. This is just one of the many things in life that you must do even if you have no clue what you are doing..
This brings us to today’s story featuring the Mateny family Whitney and Chris, their new baby Railee, and the baby’s nanny Medina. They were living in Arkansas where Whitney was attending law school and fulfill her lifelong dream of becoming a lawyer. This made things pretty tough considering they just had their first baby, law school is all time consuming and Chris has a full time job to support his family. So like many other new parents who have to work on top of being a parent, a little back help from a reliable baby sister or a nanny is always ideal.
Whitney put out a post on her social media explaining how they were looking for a nanny who could take care of their 1 year old baby while they were at work. She got a pretty quick response from an old acquaintance Medina from high school. She was a bit happy that the nanny would be somebody she knew but at the same time her maternal instincts just could come to terms with leaving their baby alone with a stranger.
They decided before they hired her, they would do their due diligence and do all the necessary background checks to make sure their beautiful baby would be in good hands. She passed all the background checks and had a great reference so they hired her. At first everything between baby Railee and Medina was happy, loving and they just seemed to hit it off immediately. However, soon after mom noticed that the baby began to act really weird.
Every time the baby would see Medina she would cry and throw a fit. This concerned mom, so she brought Railee to the doctor who after careful examination said her strange behavior was most likely due to child separation anxiety so it seemed like the problem may have been targeted and now they could figure out how to ease this “separation anxiety” so that Railee would become so hysterical. After the doctors appointment mom then noticed Railee was sleeping for way too many hours during the day even for a 1 year old.
She always used to take 2 hour naps but now each nap bordered on anywhere between 4-6 hours. The Mateny family now was getting pretty concerned, so they decided to put a hidden baby cam in Railee’s room to see if Medina was doing anything weird to make their adorable baby act weird.
The day they picked up the video camera, they set it up in place so that the whole room would be visible. After work she quickly ran home to see if the footage picked up anything strange, weird or out of the ordinary. When she went into the baby’s room she immediately saw the camera had been turned around so it was facing the wall. She quickly grabbed and reviewed any footage it captured and oh boy did it catch some footage. What the video revealed was so much worse then the Mateny family could ever exist..

This Is The Strange Reason Why We Wear The Wedding Ring On The 4th Finger!

Everyone knows that when they see a person who is wearing a ring on their left hand’s fourth finger, they’re married. Placing a wedding band on the ring finger has long been accepted as a universal symbol of marriage in many cultures throughout the world.
While this is common knowledge and practice, what is not so well known is the reason behind it all. Why do we even place wedding rings on the left hand ring finger in the first place??
To answer that question, one must turn to several ancient traditions and theories, the first of which hails from the East. The Chinese believed that the bond of marriage was the strongest, most vitally important one of all that a person could share with another.

In comparison, in the West the Romans developed their own line of reasoning for as to why wedding rings should be worn on the finger they are found on today. They believed that the human left hand’s fourth finger had a vein in it that ran directly to the heart.
The vein was called vena amoris, which is Latin for vein of love. By wearing the wedding band on that finger, the symbol of a couples love was always connected directly and kept close to their hearts via the vena amoris.
There is something natural and intrinsic about our ring fingers. Each culture developed different rationales and understandings about which finger a wedding band should be placed on, and each arrived beautifully at the same result.

Maybe something happened that traumatized this dog when he had to cross through a doorway? This seemingly irrational ‘fear of doorways’ is not uncommon in rescue dogs, according to “All Experts”.
Though they are now in a safe environment, they continue to display this phobic behavior. The pup in the footage you are about to watch, has come up with a really adorable way of coping with his fear…it will make you go Awwwww!

Photographer Discovers a Hidden Home In The Woods But Opens The Door and Sees The UNTHINKABLE!

Urban exploring has risen dramatically in popularity over the last several years. People love looking around old abandoned buildings and homes to see what’s hidden behind their walls and Leslie David from Ontario, Canada is one of them.
One day while out looking for places to explore Leslie stumbled upon an old red house with a partially caved in roof and weeds growing over the front entrance. It looked in pretty rough shape and run down, so she naturally assumed it was abandoned. After making her way carefully inside, she was shocked to see that it was not an old vacant home and that someone was actually living there.
Rather than be upset that some strange girl had just walked into his house, the homeowner smiled and welcomed her. He was an older man named Lawrence who had lived there alone for many years. The older he got, the harder it became for him to get around and so he rarely ventured outside. Adding to his isolation was that he was almost blind, his right eye was gone and the left one was filled with vision blurring cataracts.
Leslie and Lawrence ended up talking for hours about his life and current situation. She was taken aback at how sweet and kind he was, and it made her sad to see him so alone. He wasn’t eating very well or taking good care of himself, it was like he had almost given up on life, and so she vowed to help him out. Before she left, she told him she would be back soon to visit and snapped a picture of him in his living room which turned out to be one of her favorite photos
On her next visit Leslie brought dinner and some extra homemade food she’d prepared for the week ahead. Lawrence was grateful for the kind gesture and shared more of his life story with her. He told her that he’d suffered a stroke during the week and couldn’t really move his hands, but after 4 days he did visit the doctor for a check-up.
Leslie was worried about him he was clearly lonely and just needed someone to care and look in on him every now and then. She decided that from there on out, she would be that person and immediately began to make plans on what to do next.
Wishing to free up some space for him in the cramped house, she started picking up and going through all the trash that had accumulated. Since Lawrence had terrible eyesight and limited mobility, getting the random junk out of the way and opening up some extra room made a world of a difference for him. She also figured out what repairs he needed most on the home and vowed to get them done by the time summer was up.
Over the next couple of months she visited him every so often to check in, have dinner or a drink, and talk about life. She accomplished all of the home improvement plans she’d made, and his home no longer looked abandoned anymore. When he told her that the day she showed up was the best day of his life, she couldn’t help but smile and agree because she felt the same, but vice-versa.
Meeting Lawrence gave her the opportunity to actually do something kind and helpful for someone, without expecting anything in return. In the end he was better off, and she felt good about it, so it was a win-win situation for them both.
Months went by and Lawrence’s health slowly deteriorated. He was eventually unable to live on his own and so Leslie helped him find a retirement home where he now lives today. She still makes time to go see him regularly, bringing along his favorite foods and her dog who he adores. She posted this story and shared her experience with the world in the hopes that other people will reach out to someone they haven spoken to in a while, it could make a world of difference.
