At First I Thought It Was An Old Decayed Tree. But When The Camera Zoomed In WOW!

The oldest living things on earth are our source for wood in all aspects of our lives.  Trees are used for building, tools and in many forms of artistic expression.  For many centuries, China’s wood carving tradition, has been a dominant art form that has continued to present times.

The awesome and majestic work of art, “Along The River During The Quinming Festival”, carved by Zheng Chunhui, its a prime example of the very best of  Chinese carving mastery. This mind-blowing, intricately carved “world” utilized a 12-foot long tree!

It is renowned as the longest wood carving in the world, according to the Guinness Book of World Records.  As you watch the video below, which tours the entire 39-foot long piece, you will feel as if you have been transported into a world that contains 550 individually carved characters, buildings and vehicles that bring this village setting to life!

The content of Chunhui’s masterpiece was derived from Zhang Zeduan’s painting from the Song Dynasty era, named “Along The River During The Quinming Festival”.  It is believed that it was created at some point between 1085 and 1145.  The painting’s depiction of life in the Song dynasty was so astoundingly intricate, that it has inspired many artists through the centuries to artistically reinterpret it.

The masterpiece you are about to tour in the footage below, took Chunhui four years to create.  The Quinming Festival is still celebrated to this day on the 15th day of the spring equinox.  As you watch this video you will understand the sheer wonder of the renewal of life that is at the essence of this festival.  It will take your breath away!  Enjoy the tour!

17 Bears Were Held Captive In Concrete Pits For Years. Their Reaction When They Are Freed Is Priceless!

I am always heartbroken to hear stories of animals who are held in captivity under horrendous, inhumane conditions, when they are meant to live in the wild.  Such was the case for seventeen bears, who were caged in small concrete pits, at the Black Forest Bear Park in Georgia.

For years they lived a miserable existence, being humiliated into begging for food from visitors to the park.  The two female bears who are the subjects of this story were bred, and when they gave birth their cubs were ripped away from them at once.  This would be akin to taking away a human child from it’s mother.

Years went by living in these horrid conditions until help finally arrived.  Thanks to the joint effort of PETA, the Atlanta Humane Society and Sam Simpson, the day came for these tortured animals to be freed and brought to The Wild Animal Sanctuary in Keenesburg, Colorado.

Watch as they get to luxuriate in the feeling of the earth and grass beneath their paws for the first time, after only feeling cold concrete for so long. No longer did they need to beg for food.  They were free to roam and search for the abundant fresh fruit and vegetables that were available to them in the magnificent 60-acre sanctuary.

Part of this happy ending is that the two female bears were pregnant at the time of their rescue, and would get to experience the joy of getting to keep their cubs close, raising their offspring for the very first time.

Sit back and enjoy the footage, showing the sheer joy of the bears, as they are released into the freedom of their wildlife habitat.  I love a happy ending!

This Cake Doesn’t Just Sit There Looking Pretty. When It Starts Moving It’s The Most Unexpected Surprise!

All I can say is WOW!  What you are about to see is nothing short of amazing, both to watch and listen to.  It appears to be an animated cake with a crazy amount of action.  In fact, this visually awesome footage is not the result of animation.

What makes this appear to be moving is a device called Zoetropes.  They were used before actual animation came about in film making.  What you are watching in this footage is called a ‘zoetrope cake’.  A Zoetrope is made of a cylinder with slits cut into the sides.

Inside the cylinder are drawings that appear to move when the cylinder is spun. Much like flip books, that made it seem like you were seeing movement, the zoetrope drawings take on the animated feature.  When spun rapidly, it results in the little film you are about to enjoy.

Alexandre Dubosc has created this amazing imagery, with zoetrope cakes being his artistic focus.  His work is wildly imaginative and, I have to say, has got my sweet tooth going. Let us know what you think of this tasty piece of magical art!

He Starts Throwing Buckets Of Food Into The Water. Seconds Later The Most Unexpected Surprise!

When you’re a fish and live in the ocean or a river you have to constantly be on the lookout for your next meal. Whether it happens to be another fish, or a nice tasty worm, you take whatever you can get because there is just no way of knowing when you’re going to eat next.

When a human starts to throw a bunch of food in the water, you better eat that up as well. After all, a fish can only be so lucky to come across a feast, like the one in this video. In the clip a young man stands among 23 orange buckets that are fulled to the brim with fish food pellets.

He is at the edge of a pier or wooden dock next to a large body of water and a few other people mill about. The guy says something to the camera and then starts to pick up a bucket of food and flings its contents into the water. Immediately, a lot of fish start to chow down on the tasty treats and the water begins to churn once several more buckets of pellets are tossed in.

As more and more fish start fighting for the food the water begins to appear as if it is boiling from all the splashing and fish bodies flying around. Bucket after bucket after bucket of food gets tossed to the fishes and a humongous, and inevitable, feeding frenzy is soon under way.

While it is not clear where exactly this took place, or for what reason, it’s definitely a pretty wild sight to see all those fish feeding at once. They certainly got lucky, and what a great day it must have been to be a fish in those waters!

The Best Cardiologist In The Country Reveals The 4 Things That Happen Before You Have A Heart Attack

Heart disease kills more Americans per year than all cancers combined. It is responsible for one third of all deaths and is often a silent killer without obvious symptoms. One quarter of all heart attacks happen without clear signs. Even when there are symptoms, they are commonly mild or vague, such as indigestion, fatigue, back pain, and stress.

Most Americans over 35 already suffer from heart disease, whether they know it or not. Half of all people with heart disease have cholesterol readings that are in the normal range. The good news is that heart disease can be prevented, reversed and even cured.

What causes heart disease also causes many other major degenerative diseases. Some cultures experience very little, if any, heart disease. Diabetes, arthritis, cancers, and heart disease are created by the over consumption of sugar and fat.

These two things combine to make too much fat in the bloodstream and form into arterial plaque. In addition, stress, high blood pressure, lack of exercise, hormonal imbalances, overproduction of insulin, and inflammation contribute to the development of heart disease.

Most people know that cholesterol is divided into good, HDL, and bad, LDL, but LDL can be categorized further into larger, less dense, Pattern A, and smaller, highly dense, Pattern B. Boosting HDL can make Pattern A LDL less harmful, but Pattern B is very dangerous.

Cholesterol is necessary for many important metabolic functions, but the types must be in a healthy ratio. These amounts, as well as plaque, can be tested to identify a person’s risk for heart attack and stroke. Quit smoking, get more exercise, relieve stress by physical exertion and spiritual dedication, cut out all sugar, cut back refined carbs and fatty foods and you will be on your way to preventing, reversing, and curing heart disease.

Increase your intake of fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, and nuts and seeds. Fish and chicken are healthy proteins, as well as a small amount of lean red meat. If you take care of yourself, you can live a long, enjoyable life.

This Puppy Gives Himself A Bath. But What The Camera Caught Him Doing After Is So Funny!

Who doesn’t love a golden retriever puppy?  I mean all puppies are cute, but in my humble opinion Golden Retrievers corner the cuteness market!  Brady, the Golden Retriever puppy whom you are about to meet in this adorable video, is one of those puppies who just loves taking baths.  Many puppies get scared, but Brady is the exact opposite.

It’s not the fact that he loves taking baths that makes Brady so unusual, however… He loves taking baths all by himself!! I’m not kidding.  He stays in the tub as long as possible, lapping up every  last bit of water, as he watches it go down the drain.

He hops out of the tub on his own.  You would think he’d shake the water off and go on his way.  Not Brady! You have to watch how he manages to wrap himself perfectly in his bright pink towel and goes into his bed, perfectly covered up and relaxed for his after-bath nap!  This footage of this sweet, smart puppy is priceless.
