This Cow Was Saved Right Before He Was Going To Be Put Down. Now Watch His Daily Ritual.

For the first part of his short life Salvatore, a beautiful black and white cow, only knew sickness and despair. He was held in a tiny box and kept under inhumane conditions on a dairy farm in Chile. His eventual fate was to be killed, slaughtered, and sold as veal. That was before the rescue organization Animal Libre stepped in and saved him. Today Salvatore lives on a farm sanctuary called Santuario Igualdad Interespecie. His life has taken a dramatic turn for the better and he has quickly made new friends with a boy and his dog.

The group often hangs out together, laying in the grass, taking in the sunshine. They cuddle up close and Salvatore gets his much loved chin scratches and hugs. You can see the big smile spread across his cow face and how much he enjoys his new home. It is truly a happy and unique sight to behold- a boy and his dog…and his cow!

It is sad to think that this loving, gentle cow was once destined for the slaughterhouse. Thanks to the work, volunteers, and mission of dedicated groups like Animal Libre and Santuario Igualdad Interespecie, animals like Salvatore get second chances to live long, fulfilling, and happy lives.

She Tries To Give This Adorable Sloth A Treat But He Wants THIS Unexpected Surprise From Her Instead!

image via – youtube.com

There are quite a few videos online that feature easy going, wide eyed sloths. The adorable slow moving creatures are loved by many people the world over and it’s easy to see why. They’re always well behaved and very docile, gentle, and non-aggressive in their mannerisms and movements.

It’s in their nature to be sheepish but sometimes the furry little creatures just want to cuddle up close with a warm body and be loved, like the one in this clip.

The video was captured at the Sloth Sanctuary in Costa Rica, a special place that offers visitors a chance to get up close and personal with the sloths that live there. One of the visitors who had gone to see the residents and interact with them gingerly offered up a colorful Hibiscus flower to one of the sloths.

The flowers are a tasty treat that sloths love, but the one in the video was more interested in the lady than the yummy snack. The adorable animal slowly made her way over to the woman and paused to smell the pink flower, then kept going until she was in a spot where she could climb into the woman’s arms.

Ever so slowly the sloth extended her legs towards the delighted woman until she was in her arms hugging her! The friendly sloth definitely made the woman’s day, she couldn’t stop smiling, and it looks like everyone there was happy as could be!

The Sloth Sanctuary is devoted to rescuing, rehabilitating, and releasing sick or injured sloths who call the country’s rain forests home. They also run a variety of research and education programs which aim to promote respect and understanding of the gentle animals.

Many people are misinformed about sloths and part of the reason why is the negative associations people assume about them based off their name. Sloths got their unflattering name due to the fact that they move so slowly.

However, they are built for this and are not the lazy, sluggish, lethargic mammals that many often view them as. Sloths only move when necessary because they need to conserve as much energy as possible due to their diet consisting of mainly leaves.

Leaves provide little energy and are hard to digest, which is why sloths have specialized stomachs that slowly break down leaves. It often takes them a month or more to completely digest the contents of their stomachs.

Other ways in which they conserve energy include low metabolic rates and low body temperatures, and of course, slow paced movements. Sloths are wonderful, fascinating creatures and one of nature’s sweetest animals.

Check out the video to see how kind and gentle they truly are, and fall in love with them.

Giant Wolf Sits Down Next To This Woman Now Watch The Moment When Their Eyes Meet.

Not many people can walk freely with wolves and the rare few who are able to share such a close and special bond with the majestic animals are incredibly fortunate. Danielle, a wildlife worker at the Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center, is one of those lucky souls. She has earned the trust and respect of several timber wolves at the center and as you can see in this awesome video, they truly seem to love and appreciate her like one of their own!

The large grey wolf seen walking alongside Danielle in the beginning is named Kekoa, which in Hawaiian means “brave one.” He’s a nine year old Timber wolf who was transferred in from the Seacrest Wolf Preserve in Florida along with his sister Sakara who is also featured in the clip. According to the Wildlife Center, Kekoa enjoys giving visitors sweet kisses and he’s exceptionally gentle around them!

It’s clear to see that the handsome boy definitely loves the ladies and watching him interact with Danielle says it all. He walks with her happily wagging his tail and when she sits down in the snow he nuzzles her affectionately and bows his head in submission. Then he starts licking her face enthusiastically, which make seem kind of gross, but it’s actually a further sign of his affection and subordination towards her.

As brave and noble as he looks, he’s also a big baby and I mean real big! He weighs in at 115 pounds and when he places his front paws up on a persons shoulders he comes in at about 7 feet tall! Check out the size comparison between Danielle, who happens to be an average sized adult, and his sister Sakara, who is slightly smaller than her brother and weighs 85 pounds. Kekoa is huge, yet so sweet and soft!

The best part is when he rolls over on his back and fully exposes his tummy to Danielle. Not only does this signal that he wants her to give him belly rubs, it also shows just how much he truly trusts her. While he’s willing to be completely vulnerable around Danielle, he’s also not a fully wild wolf.

In an interview with The Dodo wildlife center staffer Michelle Smith explained that “Since he was raised by people and bottle fed from the time he was born, he is very well socialized, meaning he enjoys the company of people. This is not the same as domesticated or tame. He is still a ‘wild’ animal, and he does tend to show it when he is around his sister. A wolf in the wild would not act this way.” To drive home her point, a healthy and normal wild wolf would never allow a person to pet them, let alone approach them in the first place. Wolves actively avoid human contact and prefer to stay well away from us.

This clip just shows how well people and wolves can get along if given the chance to. They are highly personable and are a far cry from the wicked, evil animals that they have been portrayed as in fairy tales and stories over the centuries. In fact, wolves are easily among the most intelligent, socially complex, and misunderstood animals on Earth. They have been given a wholly undeserved reputation by people, hunted and persecuted to near extinction, and yet through it all they’ve managed to survive and endure.

Please be sure to check out the Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center’s beautiful video and see for yourself how sweet natured and loving they can be!

She Tries To Naturally Communicate and Cuddle With This Grumpy Pig. His Response Is HILARIOUS!

image via – youtube.com

Pigs are some of the most intelligent animals on the planet.  Not only are they smart, but they are filled with personality.  Meet a very funny pig, who may be just a slight bit grumpy. His human tries to communicate and cuddle with this adorable grumpster, but this piggy let’s her know how she feels about cuddles.

According to her human he likes Oreos, pho, and dog bones but when it comes to cuddling, don’t try it, unless he is in the mood! This big grumpy adorable baby is almost too much to handle. I feel like my heart is going to explode from his big goofy cuteness! This pig communicates in it’s native tongue, with hilarious grunts and displeased grumbling.

It really is amazing how much of a personality these pigs have. I’d love to have one of these big cuddle bugs but I think he might just be a tad too much work. He is definitely a bit extra but I’d love to see him when he’s out of his grumpy mood and into his cuddle mood!

Have you ever cuddled with a pig before?  Let us know!

This Guy Decides To Take A Nap Under A Tree Then The Weirdest Thing Happens!

A volunteer at the Cheetah Experience in South Africa, Dolph C. Volker, put out this extraordinary video to illustrate the possibility of having an affectionate relationship between a human and a big cat.  He writes, “Many people see Cheetahs hunting, running, killing, resting, or raising their young in documentaries, TV, or zoos.

I wanted to show people the up-close and personal side of Cheetahs. I was pleasantly surprised how wonderful their personalities can be. Cheetahs are not considered a ‘social’ cat but they love, display affection, love attention (the tamed ones) and very interactive.”

The footage you are about to view shows Volker with an adult Cheetah named Eden, who has taken an immediate liking to him, within a few days of meeting.  He said that he was able to “trust her completely”, as Eden’s comfort with him increased.

His take on her treatment of him was reflective of her experiencing him as another Cheetah.  This included the astounding behavior we get to view in this video which Volker narrates as it takes place in front of our eyes;  “grooming, nibbling, biting, pacifying, purring, laying on me, and sleeping… cuddling up close to me. I’m amazed how much more interactive and affectionate Cheetahs are compared to the average domesticated cat.”

I have to say that although I found this video captivating, I had to question Volker’s judgement in laying down with Eden; at any moment she could get carried away with her affection and bite him, without meaning to hurt him.

Volker talks about this, although he believes that by listening to her purring he was capable of gauging whether at any moment he could be in danger.

He Grabs His Fish By The Face. In My Whole Life I Have Never Seen Anything Like THIS

I had no idea that even fish can enjoy a good rub down, and I give massages for a living! The people family of the fish noted that it waits in the corner of its tank for someone to dole out affection. It actually starts adamantly splashing the water when someone comes home, and doesn’t stop until there is a hand present in her company. It’s adorable that the water creature yearns for and demands the love of her human comrades.

The sentiment is obvious when the fish responds to caresses with excited kisses and tail waving. The gentle coddling and belly strokes inspire the fish to swim in enthusiastic circles, pleading for more. It rubs itself against the loyal hand and you can imagine it purring like a happy kitty.

The fish playfully swims through the fingers and suckles at the skin, giving back in the only way it knows how. With bright eyes and a fishy smile, you can tell it would accept this attention all day.

Blood parrot cichlids are a hybrid fish that were first created in Taiwan in 1986. Typically bright orange with large yellow-green eyes, the friendly fishy can grow to be eight inches long and live for up to ten years.

Known to have strong personalities, the domesticated fish are often seen dancing at feeding time, digging in its aquarium, and getting into territory tiffs with tank mates. At night, they may snuggle and share the same cave, but in the day they are menaces, bumping and charging each other for entertainment.
