The bus ride home from school can get really boring quite quickly. Going the same exact route day in and day out makes it easy to zone out and many kids end up staring out the window, watching the world go by. That’s exactly what Jerald Withers was doing one November afternoon when he noticed that something just didn’t look right.
The eleven year old boy was riding the bus on his way home in Festus, Missouri and knew the route like the back of his hand. That’s why when he saw that a guardrail along the roadside was damaged and majorly dented, whatever had caused it must have happened that day. As the bus passed on by, Jerald could see bits and pieces of metal and plastic scattered along the road and he thought he even saw a person sprawled out in the field.
Surprised that no one else seemed to even notice, he ran to the front of the bus and alerted the driver about what he saw. The bus driver agreed that there was something out in the field, but he passed it off as nothing and kept on driving.
When Jerald arrived home his mother, Brandy Overturf, immediately noticed that he was upset, and so she asked him what was wrong. He told her the story and she knew they had to go check and see if there was someone out there who might need help. Even if it turned out to be nothing, at the very least they’d be putting Jerald’s mind to rest.
When they got to the spot Brandy parked on the side of the road and waked over to the bent guardrail with her son. They looked down and there in the ditch below was a wrecked motorcycle lying in a crumpled heap of twisted metal, it had been totally destroyed. Suddenly Jerald took off running down the side of the embankment and shouted for his mother to call 911. He had spotted the biker who was near the wreck, he still had a helmet on but wasn’t moving.
Soon paramedics arrived on the scene and they told Jerald and his mother that the biker was still alive, but it didn’t look good and might not make it. They rushed him to the hospital and soon identified him as Billy McMahan. Brandy and her son went home afterwards and waited for what seemed like hours for an update from the hospital on Billy’s condition. Finally it came, he was going to pull through and make it out alive!
According to Billy, he had wrecked his bike and been down in the ditch for hours before Jerald went by on the school bus and noticed him. If the boy and his mother hadn’t driven back around to check on what he thought he saw, Billy would have likely died from exposure that night as it was freezing outside.
Word spread quickly about what had happened and soon people all over town were calling to congratulate Jerald for being so observant and insisting on double checking his hunch. One stranger who heard he liked baseball gifted him tickets to see a St. Louis Cardinals game and even the Green Bay Packers, Jerald’s favorite Football team, got wind of what he did and sent him an autographed photo of their star quarterback Aaron Rogers and a bunch of official team gear!
Even after all the attention and neat free stuff he got, Jerald was simply happy to have been able to help someone who needed it. He saw something and said something, and that made all the difference in the world.

I’m always looking for natural alternatives that are chemical free, to provide a nice fresh smell in my home. When I came upon this DIY video for creating a natural air freshener I was intrigued.
The video below is a great tutorial for how to easily, inexpensively and quickly make your own fresh and chemical-free deodorizer. Two alternative versions are demonstrated, which differ slightly in how they release the fragrance.
For both versions, all you will need are: a MASON JAR WITH A TIN LID, HAMMER, FORK, EMPTY CANDLE CONTAINER, SCREWDRIVER, BAKING SODA AND SOME ESSENTIAL OIL. The DIY is easy to follow, and gives you a great means to slow-release a pleasant scent into any room in your home.

It can even be used to straighten clothes if an iron isn’t available. In a spray bottle container mix together 2 parts isopropyl alcohol with 1 part water and then add in 1 tablespoon of liquid dish soap. Shake it up, spray it directly onto an icy windshield, and watch the ice literally melt away right before your very eyes!
This rubbing alcohol spray is the perfect thing to have on hand for freezing cold mornings and icy windshields. You can leave the bottle in your car and it won’t even freeze, unless it gets well under zero. That’s because the freezing point of isopropyl alcohol is -128.2 degrees Fahrenheit, so when you spray it on the ice, it doesn’t freeze up. Instead, it helps to melt the ice and keeps it from re-freezing. Since all you have to do is mist it on, it’s by far the quickest and easiest way to clear a windshield that’s coated with a thick layer of ice.

4) Stop Wipers From Freezing to a Car Windshield- Take an old pair of long cotton socks and slide them over each wiper, puling it down as far as it can go or reaches. This will prevent wipers from freezing and/or sticking to the windshield, and makes life all the more easier.
5) Organize Winter Gear- Hats, scarves, gloves, mittens, hand warmers, neck warmers and all other winter accessories can be neatly stored in one accessible place with a shoe organizer. Hang it over a door and never search for lost gloves again.
6) Windshield Treatment- This one is the best! A combination of vinegar and water works wonders at preventing frost and ice from building up on car windshields and windows. Mix the two liquids up in a spray bottle, spritz it on car windows, then wipe off with a soft cloth.
7) Boot Tray- Keep floors safe, clean, and dry by making your own boot tray. This one is much more appealing than commercially available ones and works even better. Fill a large metal cookie sheet with a layer of decorative rocks and put it near the door so that when people enter they can immediately place wet boots on the rocks. The water will drip through the rocks to the bottom and soon evaporate. Texas Mother Thought She Was Giving Birth To Twins.

Childbirth is terrifying. It’s long, painful, and never guaranteed to end well. Even giving birth to one child is very risky. Add more than one and the chances of something going wrong increase dramatically. One couple was willing to take the risk.
Lauren and David wanted a baby more than anything. They had tried and tried to get pregnant to no avail. Finally, the couple decided that they needed to try a different tactic: artificial insemination. They began the process and soon enough, Lauren got positive on a pregnancy test.
It was soon time for the first checkup. After taking some tests, the doctor informed Lauren that her HCG levels were very high. This meant it was possible that Lauren was carrying a second child. Lauren and David couldn’t believe their luck.
Soon after, they came back in for the ultrasound. They couldn’t wait to see if Lauren had twins. The doctor set up the ultrasound and gasped when he looked at the screen. He claimed there were 5 babies. A minute later to the stunned everyone, he found a 6th child. The doctor told them that they could terminate some of the fetuses to give the rest a better chance at survival. Lauren and David wouldn’t hear it. They had always wanted a big family and they finally had a chance to make that happen.
The day Lauren was due finally came. In total, there were 35 people in the delivery room all doing their part to aid in the pregnancy. There were also 6 nurses waiting to take each individual child. Luckily, all the precautions took paid off. Lauren safely delivered all 6 babies within only 4 minutes! Lauren and David couldn’t believe they had gotten so lucky. They rejoiced and went home to start their family.

TSA Heard Someone Yell Don’t Let Him Onboard!

Most of us can’t really understand or appreciate the complete magnitude of what the soldiers in our country sacrifice day in and day out for us. These great men and women truly deserve to be celebrated for what they do. Not only do they all leave their family and friends when they are on active duty, but they miss out on the important events in life, such as their child’s first steps, their wedding anniversary, their jobs or even the little things like a Sunday afternoon BBQ.
They are out there in the trenches sacrificing their bodies and m,any of these men and women never make it back home alive. Many are permanently wounded physically and mentally and suffer from all sorts of mental illness such as anxiety and PTSD.
Today we focus in on a great story featuring an active duty soldier named Brooks Lindsay. At the time he was deployed, his wife was pregnant and the date was set for their baby girl’s birth. Brooks set up his schedule that he could fly back home from deployment 14 days before her actual due date just to make sure he didn’t miss the big moment when his daughter would be born!
Like most stuff in life, things tend to not go exactly how you plan them. As the due date drew closer, his wife began to realize something didn’t feel right. She went to her doctor who did an exam and realized she and her soon to be daughter were suffering from preeclampsia under a heavy load of stress! This set off a domino effect of changes, which would ultimately lead her to an induced labor 14 days before the planned date.
Remember, Brooks was thinking ahead and wanted to make sure he didn’t miss this moment and also be there to hold his wife’s hand, breathe and just support her during the whole birthing process. So as the doctors were inducing his wife’s labor, Brooks was trapped at the airport! When he got the news that she was in labor now and the birth was going to happen within the next hour or two he was completely devastated. Luckily his mother jumped into action and was their the whole time giving his wife support during the entire birth.
Not only that, his lovely mother, who happens to be quite tech savvy got him on FaceTime video chat on her phone so Brooks could be their at least in digital form. As the birth proceeded, it began to look like there was a snowball effect of complications compiling on each other. Brooks watched helplessly from the airport wishing he could just jump through his phone and be with his wife and soon to be daughter in the flesh.
Then over the loudspeaker the announcement called for his flight to begin boarding. Feeling even more down now that he would miss the finale of the birth and he wouldn’t even be sure if his wife or baby would be fine until he landed. He grabbed his carry on and began walking towards the line to get into the terminal. Then suddenly a voice pierced through the entire airport, “Don’t let that man board this flight!”
Upon hearing this obviously the TSA and Airport security and staff immediately went into high alert. But they quickly realized where the strange voice was coming from. It was emanating out of the man’s smart phone through FaceTime! It was his wife’s doctor who was in charge of her pregnancy and birth. The doctor knew it would only take 2-3 more pushes and the baby would be born, but if Brooks got on that plane he would miss the moment he waited so long to see and experience.
When the Airport Staff realized what was happening and that there was no threat, just an incredible miracle about to unfold. The amazing staff and TSA at the airport did something that is pretty much unheard of in the airline industry…. They delayed the flight to let this soldier watch his baby daughter be born. Word quickly traveled through the airport and soon pretty much everyone who was boarding everyone on the surround flights and pretty much all humans in between were watching Brooks as he stood seated glued to his FaceTime on his phone!
A fellow passenger on the flight named Tracy Dover quickly pulled out her phone and began to record the soldier watching his baby be born. Just as the doctor promised within the next 3 pushes and only a few minutes later the soldier’s daughter was born and he boarded the flight. As soon as the plane landed, he ran to the terminal, grabbed his bags, flagged a taxi and head directly to the hospital! When he got there he was so filled with joy and happiness seeing his wife and new princess healthy, safe and sound. Around the same time, Tracy Dover the girl who filmed the soldier watching his wife give birth on his FaceTime uploaded it to social media. Within just a few days, the video spread like wildfire and becoming an instantly viral!

I’m always looking for natural alternatives that are chemical free, to provide a nice fresh smell in my home. When I came upon this DIY video for creating a natural air freshener I was intrigued.
The video below is a great tutorial for how to easily, inexpensively and quickly make your own fresh and chemical-free deodorizer. Two alternative versions are demonstrated, which differ slightly in how they release the fragrance.
For both versions, all you will need are: a MASON JAR WITH A TIN LID, HAMMER, FORK, EMPTY CANDLE CONTAINER, SCREWDRIVER, BAKING SODA AND SOME ESSENTIAL OIL. The DIY is easy to follow, and gives you a great means to slow-release a pleasant scent into any room in your home.

Each Day This Pup Stared Into The Storm Drain.

One fateful day a stray dog in Turkey was out and about wandering the streets. He had set out
on his daily search for food and water and was on alert for any scraps he could find. Despite having no
owner, the dog was nevertheless very social, any friendly person passing by him on the street could stop
to pet him if they wanted to.
While many countries view stray animals as pests, Turkey happens to treat stray cats and dogs
very well. The people there are known to take care of them and laws prohibiting the capture or killing of
them have been in place for many years. The Turkish people show a lot of love and respect towards
them, and many go out of their way to provide food, water, and medical care. Larger cities and
neighborhoods also work with citizens and organizations to humanely TNR (trap, neuter, and release)
the strays to help keep the population healthy and under control.
This particular dog’s travels had eventually led him to a local butchers shop where delicious cuts
of meat were being sold and displayed in the window. If he was lucky, a customer would perhaps share
with him a bone or a little piece of meat.
Inside the shop a woman named Annie had just bought several steaks. As she headed out the
door for home, she heard the unmistakable sound of a hungry tummy and when she glanced over, she
saw the dog looking back at her with those sad eyes that only a dog can make. Annie knew what the
dog wanted and was sympathetic to his needs, so she didn’t hesitate to go back to the butchers to get
him some scraps to eat.
When she came back outside, she offered the dog a bone she’d gotten, which he very cautiously
and slowly took from her. Instead of eating it right away, the dog walked off with it in his mouth. Annie
thought it was kind of strange he didn’t chow down right away, as he was clearly very hungry, but was
just happy to have helped.
The next day Annie happened to see the same stray dog on the street and when he saw her, he
immediately wagged his tail and perked up. Even though she was in a hurry, she still took time to get
him a snack and pet him. Once again, he took the food she offered and walked off, and as much as she
wanted to follow him, she had to be on her way.
When Annie saw the dog the next day, she came prepared with a little bag of treats. She gave
them to him and watched as he walked off without eating the food. Having no place to be, she decided
to find out what the dog was doing and followed him.
The stray led her to a busy street whereupon he headed straight over to a storm drain. He sat
down next to it and dropped a treat in before eating one himself. The next day the dog did the same
thing and seemed to be fixated on the drain. Annie was naturally curious about why the dog was
putting half of his much needed food into the drain and finally decided to take a look inside it.
After peering down into the drain, she was shocked to see tiny eyes looking back up at her! She
immediately called the fire department, and they were on the scene within half an hour to help free
whatever poor animal was down there. However, before they could open the drain, they had to get the
stray dog away from it. He was being protective of it and was wary of the firefighters and crowd that
had gathered around. Annie called him over to get a treat, with his tail wagging he went to her, then
she held him close so the firemen could get to work.
After several stressful minutes, the firemen reached into the drain and pulled something out. In
his arms was a tiny kitten! He did this four more times, each time coming up with another baby kitty,
until the whole litter was freed. At that point the stray dog couldn’t be held back anymore, he rushed
over to the kittens, wagging his tail and gently sniffing them to make sure they were okay. Annie stood
there in shock; she knew something was in the drain but never thought it’d be five kittens!
Somehow the stray kittens had gotten trapped in the drain, but because the stray dog had
shared his food with them and drawn Annie’s attention, they had survived! Annie knew exactly what to
do next. She told the firemen she would take the kittens home with her to raise until she could find
them forever homes of their own. With the kittens tucked safely in a carrier she headed home, but not
before turning to the stray dog. She said to him “come on Benny, we’re going home.” That’s all the dog
needed to hear. Wagging his tail, he jumped up and followed after her and the kittens towards his new
home!
Once the kittens were old enough, Annie adopted four of them out to good homes. One kitten,
that she named Fudge, was a foster failure she fell in love with and kept. In the end, all three of them
got the happiest ending their story could have.

Many people struggle to remove these stains and often think that they need strong, harsh chemical cleaners to get rid of them effectively. However, there’s a better and more affordable way to go about cleaning a shower head with crusted on mineral build up. All you need is apple cider vinegar, a Ziploc bag, and a rubber band.

In a spray bottle container mix together 2 parts isopropyl alcohol with 1 part water and then add in 1 tablespoon of liquid dish soap. Shake it up, spray it directly onto an icy windshield, and watch the ice literally melt away right before your very eyes!
This rubbing alcohol spray is the perfect thing to have on hand for freezing cold mornings and icy windshields. You can leave the bottle in your car and it won’t even freeze, unless it gets well under zero. That’s because the freezing point of isopropyl alcohol is -128.2 degrees Fahrenheit, so when you spray it on the ice, it doesn’t freeze up. Instead, it helps to melt the ice and keeps it from re-freezing. Since all you have to do is mist it on, it’s by far the quickest and easiest way to clear a windshield that’s coated with a thick layer of ice.

5) Organize Winter Gear- Hats, scarves, gloves, mittens, hand warmers, neck warmers and all other winter accessories can be neatly stored in one accessible place with a shoe organizer. Hang it over a door and never search for lost gloves again.
6) Windshield Treatment- This one is the best! A combination of vinegar and water works wonders at preventing frost and ice from building up on car windshields and windows. Mix the two liquids up in a spray bottle, spritz it on car windows, then wipe off with a soft cloth.
7) Boot Tray- Keep floors safe, clean, and dry by making your own boot tray. This one is much more appealing than commercially available ones and works even better. There is something about Irish folk music that just makes you want to move your feet. Have you ever wondered what your pet is actually thinking about? The topic that the man decided to explore was how his dog would react to the news that the delicious food he had taken out of the fridge earlier… was all gone! All dogs naturally love food and so they’d hate to hear that they wouldn’t be getting any tasty treats. I’d probably throw a mini tantrum too if I was this the poor adorable pup in the clip.

I, myself, have stopped using those candles that I used to love, because of the inherent health hazard they carry. I’m always looking for natural alternatives that are chemical free, to provide a nice fresh smell in my home. When I came upon this DIY video for creating a natural air freshener I was intrigued.
The video below is a great tutorial for how to easily, inexpensively and quickly make your own fresh and chemical-free deodorizer. Two alternative versions are demonstrated, which differ slightly in how they release the fragrance.
For both versions, all you will need are: a MASON JAR WITH A TIN LID, HAMMER, FORK, EMPTY CANDLE CONTAINER, SCREWDRIVER, BAKING SODA AND SOME ESSENTIAL OIL. The DIY is easy to follow, and gives you a great means to slow-release a pleasant scent into any room in your home.

While it’s always nice to have a sparkling clean car, it’s even better when you can have it without spending a small fortune. Thankfully there are all sorts of cheap ways to clean your car with common items that you probably already have around the house. They can do the job just as well, if not even better, than what professional cleaners use.

Clean your headlights with toothpaste. Use regular toothpaste, not the gel type, to polish up car headlight lenses by rubbing it on evenly with a cloth. Move in quick circular motions to then buff it off and you should notice the grime and fogginess disappear.
Remove stubborn old bumper stickers cleanly and completely with WD-40. Simply spray the sticker with WD-40 and let it sit for a while, the sticker will absorb it, then you can peel it right off.
Remove pet fur from carpets and seats with a spray bottle, water, and a squeegee. Spray the water on the seat and then move the squeegee over the area, it will gather and lift up the hair so you can easily pick it up.
Clean air vents with small foam brushes. They can easily fit in even the smallest vents and pick up all the dirt and dust inside them.
Use coffee filters to dust your car dashboard. Unlike cloth towels and paper towels, coffee filters won’t leave behind lint or just push dust around. Instead they work great at picking up dust and you can toss a few in the glove compartment for whenever you might need one to freshen up the dash.
Get streak free windows by cleaning them with newspaper. It’s the cloths and paper towels that leave streaks when you clean your windows so don’t even bother using them. Instead, spray down the window with cleaner and wipe it off with a piece of newspaper as you normally would.
Get rid of stubborn, lingering odors by sprinkling baking soda on car seats and carpets. Let it sit for a couple of hours before vacuuming it up. The baking soda should absorb the foul odors, leaving your car smelling fresh and clean.
