Mom’s 4 Year Old Daughter Got Home From School Hungry With a Disturbing Note In Her Lunch Box

Well it’s that time of year again, somehow summer has ended and it’s time to get them kids back to school. This means it’s time to start picking up those backpacks, pencils, binders, books, lunch boxes and some nice fresh new clothes. Parents all around America are finally breathing a sigh of relief as the 24/7 kid patrol ends as they bring their children to the bus stop and get them on that bus to school.
Ah the sweet joys of silence inside a peaceful and soon to be clean house. Time to take a deep breath, regroup and remember what it’s like to be an adult human again. The kids are also now transitioning into their new grade, new classes, new teachers, new friends and sometimes even new schools. For many children adapting to a whole new routine, dealing with with new people and acquiescing to their new environments can take some time.
Some can quickly get comfortable, while others have a more difficult time and can experience a decent amount of stress and anxiety. Faculty at school is supposed to be trained to make the school environment feel as safe and comfortable as humanly possible, however this isn’t always the case…
This brings us to today’s story, featuring a woman named Leeza Pearson and her daughter 4-year-old daughter Natalee. One morning Leeza and Natalee were doing their usual morning routine before school. Making breakfast, picking out an outfit and packing a school lunch. On this particular day Leeza had run out of vegetables and fruits so she just decided to give Natalee a little treat and packed her up some tasty Oreos to go along with her ham and cheese sandwich and cheese strings.
She didn’t think much of it, and sent her off to the Children’s Academy in Aurora, Colorado. That afternoon mom picked up her daughter from school and something just didn’t seem right. For some reason she said to her mom she was super hungry which usually wasn’t the case.
Mom asked her how her lunch was and for some weird reason she just didn’t answer. Leeza asked her if everything was alright with her lunch and she told her it was fine but her inflection and voice made mama a bit suspicious.
When they got home mom opened Natalee’s lunch box and her eyes nearly popped out of the sockets. Her jaw hit the floor as she saw the unopened pack of Oreos and a hand written not sitting beside the Oreos. She picked up the note, with her hand trembling just a bit and began reading this strange note line by line…….

Once you become a parent it quickly dawns on you that your life is no longer the most important thing to you but your child’s life now takes precedence over your own. Seeing your young kid sick is one of the hardest things for a parent to deal with especially when there is nothing you can do to make them better.
You will make any sacrifice you possibly can for your child and will do everything in your power to try and get them better, no matter what the cost. In a worse case scenario situation they can be able to survive their illness! Until you face this reality as a parent it is truly hard to grasp how sad, difficult, scary, and life altering this situation can be.
Even if your child isn’t sick having that initial conversation about death is one of the hardest thing a parent will ever have to do. How can you explain death to a kid when as an adult it’s almost impossible to grasp the idea of it yourself. Even worse what happens when you have to have this conversation with your son and it’s not a theoretical conversation, but a talk about his imminent death.
This brings us to today’s heart breaking story. Bill Kohler father of Aiden Kohler, was diagnosed with a very rare form of childhood cancer called Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma or DIPG. This is a very dangerous form of cancer that forms a large mass or tumor in the middle of the brainstem. This form of cancer is almost impossible to treat because it grows around the nerves in the brain.
If these nerves are operated on the patient will almost certainly die. People diagnosed with this type of cancer usually can only live for at most 12 months after it is found. This form of cancer is so rare that only 300 humans are diagnosed each year and they are usually between the ages of 5-9 years old.
In Aiden’s particular case his diagnosis was even worse because they didn’t just find one tumor they found two! Even with the devastating news about his son, Bill a veteran and former army medic tried just about anything and everything he could to save his son’s life.
He tried to get him into multiple experimental trials that weren’t fully cleared yet in a last ditch effort to save the young boy. Unfortunatley Aiden didn’t meet the requirements for these test trials and was rejected over and over again. When Bill finally had to come to terms with the fact that there was absolutely nothing he could do, he made his boy a promise that he would make his final days on earth as fulfilling and special as he possibly could.
Aiden got to meet his favorite wrestlers, celebrity chefs, go hunting in the woods and play with his favorite soccer team. Then came his tenth and final birthday where his parents tried their best and gave him an amazing final birthday. Time was quickly running out as the sand in the hour glass was almost empty, Aiden’s short life was coming to an end.
All his bodily functions were shutting down. He couldn’t swallow, breathe, walk and talking was becoming more and more difficult. He knew he was going to die soon and he looked up at his father and told him ‘Dad I gotta quit’. Bill the former army medic looked at his son with tears streaming down his eyes and told him, ‘if you fought as hard as you possibly could and you just can’t go on it’s okay to quit son’.
Aiden said to his dad after he’s gone he wants to be remembered as a fighter, filled with happiness, funny, a good athlete, smart, wise beyond his years and selfless. He also wanted to people to celebrate his life by dancing and singing and not be sad that he is now gone from this earth.
Aiden died soon after but his family, friends and community will never forget this special boy who will forever remain in their memories. To this day donations are still being given to John Hopkins in Aiden’s name to try and find a cure for DIPG.

I Never Knew They Did THIS! The Super Slow Motion Video Reveals Something Fascinating About Dogs!

Have you ever thought about how animals drink water, specifically dogs? They certainly don’t pour it into a cup and gulp it down like many humans do. It looks like they simply lap it up with their tongues and that’s about it.
Man’s best friend is not the most elegant drinker either, they often make a mess and send water flying everywhere. Between that and how fast they down water, it’s impossible to tell what’s really going on when a dog takes a drink.
That’s where science and high tech video equipment come into play. Researchers from Virginia Tech wanted to see exactly how a dog drinks and so they decided to slow down the process a lot. With a special high speed camera, they recorded a bunch of thirsty dogs drinking from water bowls at 1,000 frames per second.
They presented their findings at a summit on fluid dynamics and what they discovered puts the whole process, and the mess dogs make when they drink, into perspective.
First, they observed the dogs slamming their tongues deep into the water. They would then curve their tongues into a backwards facing ladle shape that worked to essentially pull up some water. After that they would rip their tongues back towards their mouths crazy fast, so fast that researchers said the acceleration amounted to about five times that of gravity!
This caused a column of water to be suspended in the air and the dogs would basically bite down and catch it. Multiply that action by 100 and the dog ends up with a nice little drink of water. It all makes much more sense when you see it in action.
The accompanying video of an Alsatian dog drinking water from a bowl has been slowed down so that we can see every movement described above. As it turns out, how a dog drinks is not as simple as you probably assumed and the mess they make is because they’re slamming water and catching it!

THIS Tiny Hummingbird Lands On This Big Dog Then The UNTHINKABLE Occurs!

It’s been said that “what goes around comes around” and for one dog and his best friend, a tiny hummingbird, that age old expression has never been truer. Life started out pretty rough for the unlikely pair and both had to overcome dire situations before they could get to the happy stage they are at now.
It was just last year that Rex was a feral dog living a rough and tumble life in Los Angeles California. Without a home or friend to call his own, the tough street smart dog’s destiny changed forever when he was picked up and rescued. Soon afterwards he was adopted by his current owner, Ed Gernon, and welcomed warmly into his home.
Rex adjusted well to his new living situation, transforming from dangerous and unpredictable into a much calmer and tamer type of dog. Then one day when Rex and Ed were out for a walk they noticed a little hummingbird on the ground.
It was covered in ants and at first glance it appeared to be dead. On a local news station report, CBS LA, Ed recalled that “It was this little creature, this fragile creature that the whole world wanted to kill and (Rex) was trying to protect her, so I thought I’d go the distance.”
He took the half dead bird home and lovingly began the process of nursing her back to health. Under the close supervision of a very interested and concerned Rex he hand-fed the poor baby every 15 minutes homemade sugar syrup.
Before long the bird, now named Hummer, was strong enough to fly and go her own way. However, instead of leaving Rex and Ed, Hummer ended up staying and is now best friends with the dog who inspired her rescue.
The adorable pair now spend every moment of the day together enjoying each others company. On the YouTube video Ed posted of the two he wrote that Hummer “developed a total crush on Rex. Wherever he was, she wanted to be close by. She even started bathing in his water bowl, killing time while he ate before she’d start playing with him again. So strange, but amazing.”
That was over a year ago and today Hummer is still living with her new family. She’s unbelievably well-adjusted to her new domestic life, so much so that she lets Ed give her little kisses! In true karmic fashion, the good deeds have come full circle in this story.
Ed summed it up best when he said “I rescue this dog, he rescues the bird, the bird rescues all of us in a weird sense, and it’s just a miracle.”

Kitty Thought He Had a Master Plan To Catch The Fish. But Then The UNTHINKABLE Occurs!

Cats are naturally drawn to little things that dart and move all around. Many a feline will readily chase after toys, bugs, mice, and whatever else is crawling on the floor or blowing in the wind. They also really like fish, whether it involves watching them swim around and trying to catch the little swimmers or eating them for a tasty dinner, kitties love them.
While some cats are incredibly adept at hunting and stalking their prey, others are much less capable, especially when it comes to fishing. A cat named Scat falls into the latter category as is evidenced by this video which shows him attempting to master the feline art of cat fishing.
At first it looks like Scat might know what he’s doing. He patiently sits watching and studying his target, a little yellow fish, swim lazily around in the tank. The seconds slowly tick by and when the fish finally turns its back on him he makes his move.
He leaps up off of his perch in the perfect pouncing formation and flies through the air, but instead of getting his fish, he goes right past it and lands on the floor below! Mission incomplete, cat 0, fish 1.
According to the man who posted the video, Trent Vanderheiden, Scat has a habit of doing this move all the time. He has yet to learn the finer points of cat fishing which is good for the fish and everyone else. If You’re Using Black or Red Sheets On Your Bed Throw Them Out Right Now. THIS Reason Is Scary!

Bed bug infestation is truly one of the worse experiences I’ve ever gone through. My daughter came home from a college dorm and brought these horrid critters in her suitcase. Because they have developed a resistance to insecticides, they are getting harder and harder to get rid of. We had to get rid of two beds in our house!
Recently researchers who study bed bugs, found that they consistently have an amazing preference, that could prevent the breeding of bed bugs in your home to begin with.
In the video you are about to watch below, from the Mayo Clinic, one of the researchers explains the finding…bed bugs have a definite preference for certain colors, while they show no interest in other ones!
The original study was done by researchers at the University of Florida and Union College in Lincoln. Some of the details of how color preference was tested will be shown in the footage below. The results showed that bed bugs have a strong preference for RED AND BLACK, while they actually avoided GREEN and YELLOW.
As you will hear, this preference is believed to be evolutionary and based on adaptation. This will also be explained, but for now all I have to say is that my RED SHEETS won’t be seeing any of the beds in my house, and although I don’t have Black sheets I will not be using the dark navy or dark brown ones.
Having been through a bed bug siege, I will go to any lengths to avoid the chaos that ensued. Let us know what you think after watching the video.

The Most Incredible Thing Happens When THIS Horse Finds The Blue Kiddy-Pool!

There’s something about a kiddie pool that brings out the inner child in everyone, from kids to adults and animals alike. When you see one it’s hard to not jump in and go crazy. The convenient little pools of refreshing water are especially irresistible on a hot summer day.
After all, nothing cools you down faster and feels more invigorating than a dip in an ice cold pool. As it turns out, horses are not immune to the special magic of kiddie pools. If given the chance they will splish splash and take a bath in one in a heartbeat.
Which is why one man decided to set up a kiddie pool for his special horse named Duke. He knew Duke really liked water and would appreciate it, but he didn’t know just how much fun he’d end up having! As you can see, Duke’s inner child came out in full force when he saw the kiddie pool. He stepped right into it and began pawing hilariously at the water.
He was churning up a storm and sending water flying everywhere, much to the delight of his human companion and son who were looking on. Not content to simply splash around, he laid down and immersed his whole body, really cooling himself off in the process.
Luckily for him the pool held up through all the commotion and didn’t bust wide open! Horses are known for loving water and judging by all the fun he’s having Duke is no exception. Check out the video for more.

School Officer Spots Special Needs Girl Frozen In The Hall Then Falls To Her Knees As She Figures It Out

Do you remember your favorite stuffed animal, toy, or maybe a blanket when you were a kid. No matter where you went you always had your friend with you by your side. There was no obstacle or problem that couldn’t be taken care of as long as you and your favorite toy were together.
Scary things just weren’t as scary and just having your small friend with you gave you the courage to do things you wouldn’t otherwise do as a young child out of fear. One of the main reasons kids carry a ‘special’ stuffed animal, blanket or toy is because it lowers their anxieties and fears in almost any situation they face.
This brings us to today’s story featuring a young 12-year old girl named Raquel Zuniga, she is currently in the 7th grade and goes to classes that are specifically designed for children with moderate to severe mental disabilities.
Raquel carries a special friend with her everywhere she goes. This friend is none other than everyone’s favorite frog Kermit! Raquel hangs out with Kermit the Frog all day everyday, whether she is home or at school Kermit is always right by her side.
Due to Raquel’s disability she has severe anxiety especially when she is transitioning from one place to another. This tends to flare up at school when the bell rings and it’s time to go from one class to another. On this day, Raquel was having an extremely rough time transitioning from one class to another and she froze. She couldn’t walk or get to her class and she wouldn’t say anything. She just stood in the hallways frozen clutching Kermit silently.
Multiple teachers came up to Raquel and tried to get her to unfreeze and comfort and make her feel safe in her current state and situation. None could help, Raquel stood their frozen for just about a full hour clutching on to her stuffed frog.
That’s when a special soul enters the story, school security officer Kris Morrison who spent the last 20 years as a school officer for special needs children. However, before that she was an officer Kris was a teacher for children with disabilities and instinctually somehow knew exactly what to do to help poor Raquel.
Kris spoke to Raquel in a soothing voice and then began to sing Rainbow Connection, the famous song that Kermit the Frog, ‘Raquel’s best friend’ is most known for. As Kris sang Raquel’s anxiety and fear just began melting away.
Soon after she began moving and it was as if a miracle just occurred and she unfroze! This was Raquels favorite song, so it immediately triggered her brain to relax and feel safe. Just like that, the magic of music, an amazing school security officer and Kermit the frog had saved the day!
