All that it takes is one quick glance at someone for us to form an overall impression as to who they are. We take in what they are wearing, how they style their hair, and pay special attention to their physical characteristics. The practice of judging people based on appearance has existed for as long as mankind has. While modern thought and practice has moved well beyond phrenology, back in the early 1800s an entire area of study was dedicated to the discipline.
In this day and age the most recent related trend has to do with the hands and the primary focus is on nail shapes. Known commonly as ‘nail personality diagnosis’ the concept originated in Japan and it has recently caught on in the West. The idea is that the shape of a person’s nails can be used to analyze and predict various personality traits.
While some people may be skeptical about these types of things, it best to try and keep an open mind about it. At the very least it’s an interesting take on personality and the general ideas that nail personality diagnosis embodies could actually be onto something. It may be a stretch, but in a semi-related study published in the Journal of Behavior Therapy and Experimental Psychiatry, researchers found that people who bite their nails tend to be perfectionists. When things get stressful or are out of their control it makes then feel tense and they take that frustration out on their nails. Most of the time they aren’t even aware they’re biting their nails, it’s like a subconscious reaction they have. So if you are a nail-biter, it may be due to the fact that you’re a perfectionist!
All that aside, take a moment to do a quick self-evaluation and look down at your nails. Simply match up the shape and size they are with the corresponding picture and then read what it has to say about your personality.

Throughout time and history people have sought to make sense of the surrounding world and everything in it. I’m talking about personality, which is all of the different personal characteristics and types of qualities that make us who we are as individuals!
Scientists, psychologists, and other researchers have made many attempts at figuring out personality types. One major area happens to involve an individual’s personality being linked to certain physical parts of the human body. For example, there are theories as to what your finger or toe length may reveal about who you are and many more similar types of notions. In particular, it seems that the one physical attribute which stands out above all the others is our own two hands.
The hands are believed to hold the most information about our lives. It follows that many people think that hands can reveal all sorts of subtle clues in regards to a number of human traits and behaviors, including things like the way we act and make choices. A very simple and basic way in which these beliefs play out can be seen in how we often compare left-handed to right-handed people. Someone who is left hand dominant is more likely to be a better artist, whereas right hand dominant people are harder to scare or anger than their lefty counterparts.
In a similar alternative, the way in which an individual makes a fist with their hand can indicate things about their character traits and overall personality type. All you need to do is make a fist and then closely examine how you curl up your hand. Pay special attention to where you place your fingers and then compare the fist that you make with the three distinct types shown in the accompanying illustration.

This Castle Was Abandoned and Untouched Since 1932, But Wait Til You See The Inside

When you think of a castle you likely imagine a sturdy, imposing fortress that was built from stone and surrounded by a water-filled moat. After all, castles were purposefully constructed to keep people safe and protected inside their walls. They are what stood between everything from marauding enemies to wild beasts and the destructive forces of mother nature. Castles were meant to be strong and had to be able to withstand long, drawn out, aggressive sieges. In later years they took on a more extravagant role and today they are seen as dreamy, fantasy-like places, filled with magic and romance.
The abandoned castle seen in this incredible footage is called Château de la Mothe-Chandeniers and it looks like it comes straight out of a Disney movie. The beautiful ruins are located in the town of Les Trois-Moutiers, in the west of France. For centuries the majestic castle has sat in the middle of a heavily wooded area, surrounded by a water filled moat, imposing and elegant all at once. Today it is being left to slowly fade away back into nature, yet despite the years of neglect, the castle still looks like it’s fit for royalty. All that it needs is the right owner or group to step in and restore it to its former glory.
To truly understand the amount of detail and thought that went into constructing this castle, you need to take the video tour because it’s the only thing that gives it justice. You can feel and sense all of the tragedies and triumphs this castle has borne witness to. It may have been overtaken by nature and seemingly forgotten about, but if these walls could talk they would tell tales of epic battles and grand celebrations. First and foremost, the castle is filled with history and has quite the tumultuous past. It dates back to at least the 13th century and was originally built as a safe haven for the notable Bauçay family, who were lords of Loudun and answered directly to the king of France himself. Over the following centuries the castle was overtaken twice by English forces during the middle ages before it was eventually given back to the French. After being restored it went on to become a very popular place where nobility gathered for magnificent galas and lavish, extravagant, over the top parties. The good times didn’t last long though and during the French Revolution the castle was once again destroyed after being sacked.
There it sat for some ten years or so before a well-heeled businessman named Francois Hennecart bought the property with the intent to once again restore it. He managed to add a vineyard but in 1857 it was taken over and passed on to Baron Joseph Lejeune, a wealthy relative of Napoleon III. He rebuilt the castle extensively in the romantic style that was popular at the time and continued on the tradition of holding lavish parties.
It was during a subsequent renovation in 1932 that the castle succumbed to its latest major setback and ever since then it has sat vacant. At the time, the current owner had been installing central heat and somehow a fire was sparked. The resulting damage not only devastated most of the structure, numerous rare pieces of art, furniture, tapestries, books, and paintings were sadly destroyed as well and lost forever.
In recent years there have been a number of efforts to restore Château de la Mothe-Chandeniers, but it seems that everyone who tries gets railroaded into giving up. Hopefully a preservation society or some group can step in and help to rebuild it because it is a seriously beautiful, magically impressive castle that deserves saving. Mom Tells Girl To Say Hi To Baby Goat, But When The Goat Responds They Can’t Stop Cracking Up
There are few things on Earth that come close to being as cute as a baby goat. The adorable little animals always look like they’re just so happy and having the best time ever. Their playful attitude, combined with their little bitty size, makes them look so sweet and innocent. Heck, everything about them is silly and sweet, which just adds to their preciousness. The same exact sentiments can also be said for newborns and toddlers, they are even more cute!
Do you remember awhile back there was a sudden surge in goat videos online which mostly featured adorable goats yelling and sounding remarkably human-like while doing so? Naturally, it was only a matter of time before a human baby came along and ended up having a little chit chat with a fellow baby goat. As you can see and hear in this video, the dynamic duo got along quite well and were really seeing eye to eye.
In fact, the two kids hit it off right away. The adorable banter back and forth was just flowing out of their mouths and while they may have been meeting for the first time ever, it sounds like they could easily be old friends. From what I gathered of their conversation, it seemed like they share a lot of interests in common! If you love babies and baby goats then you have to do yourself a favor and check this clip out, it’s short, simple, and sweet as can be.
As for why some goats sound so much like humans, no one really knows the answer to that yet. Also, not all goats are able to make the types of noises and sounds that seem more like they’re coming from a person rather than a goat. It turns out that goats are just like people in the sense that each and every goat has a specific, individual, and distinctive voice which is all its own. Some just happen to have voices that resemble humans and those make for some really great, funny, and entertaining videos.
Furthermore, goats apparently yell all the time and for many different reasons, just like most human people of all ages do. Usually if a mother and her baby get separated she’ll call out in an effort to locate the kid, and vice versa. Also, when goats get hungry they get loud and will let you know that they want to be fed ASAP! In fact, they scream and yell even if they aren’t hungry or lost and they can get all riled up just from being handled.

Do you remember the first time your parents left you home alone for an extended period of time? They finally thought you were old and mature enough to be responsible, and maybe you were, but many of us were definitely not. Some people took full advantage of their newfound freedom and some also took on the motto ‘no parents, no rules!’ Whether they stayed out super late, took a car they knew was off limits, or threw a raging house party, they did things that were unexpected and maybe even a little crazy!
In the same sense that many teenagers act a fool when their parents leave them home alone, so do lots of our pets! Think about it, if you have animals that you leave home alone, do you really know what they get up to when you’re gone? Most people assume that their pets either take it easy and rest all day long or they cry for a bit and get upset, but eventually settle down. While that could easily be the case, it can just as easily not be! Perhaps they act like the dog in this video, which is in a totally unexpected way!
The adorable Golden Retriever seen in this home security camera footage doesn’t mope around or head to bed when his parents step out for the day. Instead, the eight month old dog seems to think that it’s time to party and he doesn’t take it easy! As you can see, the amped up puppy runs around in circles in the living room while a fellow Retriever looks on. The only time the dog stops going in circles is when he takes a break to jump up on the couch and bark in his sibling’s face. It looks like he’s trying really hard to get the other dog to play with him, but his aggressive approach is just not working.
This puppy is seriously like the energizer bunny, he keeps going and going and going, in circles! His energy knows no limits and it’s hilarious to watch him in action. At least he’ll be tired out by the time his owner returns home and he isn’t crying or depressed when they’re gone. Heck, it actually looks like he’s having the time of his life!

People and animals face their fears in all sorts of different ways but the most common advice that’s often given is to go head first and stare whatever it may be that you’re afraid of right in the eye. If you have a fear of heights, go to somewhere high enough that makes you feel uncomfortable and look down. If you have a fear of tight spaces, jam yourself into one and deal with the emotions that wash over you. While this all may be very sage advice in theory, it doesn’t work for everyone in reality.
That’s why people choose to go a different route and instead turn to alternative ways in which they can try to stand up to their fears. Some try to conquer them through meditation, hypnosis, therapy, or in any other way they can think of, and if you can find a way to get past personal fears it should be considered a huge success.

Or you could take a page out of this dog’s book, and watch what he does in the video to do just that!
The adorable Bulldog is named Bentley and he has a very unique way of facing his fear of crossing cables. In this instance, the cable happens to be a yellow electrical cord that’s snaked across the hallway. He needs to get by the darn thing so he can go outside, but the sight of the cord clearly makes him nervous as it slows him down and draws his attention straight towards it.
You can literally see him thinking as he sizes up what to do about the cord and his big wrinkly head moves back and forth from side to side. Then, when he finally makes his move, it’s hilarious! Bentley gathers up all the courage and strength from deep within himself, turns his body around a full 180 degrees, and backs up rear-end first over the cord.
He doesn’t stop for one moment or let the scary cord out of his sight as he backs down the hall the rest of the way to the door. The experience didn’t kill him so he must be stronger from it and he managed to successfully face his fears in the cutest, most comical way possible. What an awesomely clever dog and more power to him!
